Divorce lawyer Victoria Slade has seen enough unhappy endings to swear off marriage forever. That doesn't mean she's opposed to casual dating—just not with her cocky new neighbor, who is as gorgeous and tempting as he is off-limits. But once she agrees to take on his sister's case, she's as determined to win as ever—even if that means teaming up with Ford…
Investigative journalist Ford Dixon is bent on finding the man who got his sister pregnant and left her high and dry. He's willing to partner with Victoria, despite the fact that the beautiful brunette gets under his skin like no other woman. He might not be looking to settle down, but there's no denying the scorching attraction between them. Still, the more time he spends with Victoria, the more he realizes that the one woman as skeptical about love as he is might be the only woman he could really fall for…
Victoria Slade is a successful lawyer, leads the perfect life and above all she’s young. When her house is broken in and she suffers a terrible panic attack, Victoria decides it’s time to move. Victoria has been living for a while in her new apartment but she still hasn’t met her new neighbor until fate brings them together.

As an investigating journalist, it’s Ford’s job to know the people who live in his building until he meets his judgy little new neighbor. So when his sister, Nicole, asks Victoria to help her find her baby daddy, Ford has to help. They might not like each other much but they will work together to find the man who got Nicole pregnant.

I love reading books by Julie James. Suddenly one summer was an amazing realistic book with two incredible realistic characters. Everything about this book felt read. Both hero and heroine were smart, witty, dealing with their own problems. I loved how their romance built up step by step and it wasn’t rushed. Ford and Victoria spent a lot of time together investigating, bonding and finally falling for each other.

Victoria and Ford have a lot of issues to deal with, especially Victoria so when I read the end I was very surprised. I guess when you want something so much, you fight for it.

This book can definitely be read as a standalone since it doesn’t really belong to the FBI/ US Attorney series though Ford is Brook’s (Love Irresistibly) best friend. I loved that we got to see more of Brook and Cade. There were a couple of scenes with Ford and Brook that makes you realize how important friendship is and I loved that too.

Suddenly one summer was a marvelous read. Victoria and Ford were two amazing characters and so were Nicole and Zoe, the baby. I hope we get to see what happens with Nicole because I really liked her.

Since this is a Julie James book, I abso-f*cking-lutely recommend it!

SHE KNOWS BETTER THAN TO SAY “I DO”
After a humiliating end to her engagement, investment banker Sidney Sinclair is done with commitment-phobic men. But when her sister winds up engaged after a whirlwind courtship, she’s thrown in to close contact with exactly the kind of sexy playboy she wants to avoid—the gorgeous best man. She’s stuck with him, for better or worse, until her sister walks down the aisle, but that doesn’t mean she has to give in to his smooth advances, no matter how tempting they are…
BUT HE MAKES IT HARD TO SAY “I DON’T”
Special Agent Vaughn Roberts always gets his man on the job and his woman in bed. So Sidney’s refusal to fall for his charms only makes him more determined to win over the cool and confident redhead. Only what starts out as a battle of wills ends up as a serious play for her heart. Because the one woman who refuses to be caught may be the only one Vaughn can’t live without…
It happend one wedding is the fifth book in the FBI/US Attorney series by Julie James. This book tells the story of Sidney and Vaughn, an FBI agent.

Let me just say how different this book was from the other books in the series. It had a serious tone but yet at times I find myself laughing with the characters. I guess that's Julie Jame's writting.

After finding out that her fiance was cheating on her, Sydney left New York and returned back to Chicago. But having spent three years of her life in vain, she knows that if she wants to start her own family she must hurry. That means finding someone who desires the same things as her and not just someone who wants to have a good time. So when Vaughn hits on her, Sydney has no problem letting him down. She knows what's she's looking for and it's not his type.

Vaughn can't believe he's been rejected. After Sydney "profiled" him as a womanizer, which he knows he is, Vaughn begins to doubt himself. Especially when it turns out that Sydney's sister, Isabelle will be marrying Vaughn's brother, Simon. Little do they know that their siblings plan to keep them too distracted with the wedding...

But both Sydney and Vaughn realise that they can't fight the attaction that burns between them. So, while Sydney's looking for her Mr. Right, why not have some fun with Mr. Wrong.

This book was just sooo hot. When you put Sydney and Vaughn together in a room, the result you get is fireworks. Sydney was a troubled character. Having wasted three years of her life, she believes `it's time for a big change but she's still looking for what she thought she had. I felt that she always withheld a part of her, afraid that history will repeat itself and she never gave anyone else a chance. Especially Vaughn. She justified their relationship by saying that they're just two adults having fun and she never took that relationship seriously. I was really happy when they both realised that their relationship was more than they thought. I could see that they were both afraid for the future but they tried to make it work and I loved that.

I also loved the way Vaughn was jealous everytime Sydney went on a date looking for Mr Right. But in the end, all it took to make Sydney his, was his honesty.

It happened one wedding was a fun, loving story filled with romance, suspense many hot scenes and an alpha/ humorous hero.

Highly recommended!

About That Night

By Julie James

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I've read  almost every book of Julie James but still I'm amazed by how well written her books are. They captivate you from the begging to end and you still want to read more to know how the characters cope with in the real life,to see how compatible the are. After reading A Lot Like Love I have to admit About That Night is a great addition to the series.

To begin with, the book starts with Rylann being with her friens in a bar and ordering drinks when Kyle sees her and "flirts" with her. When the time comes to leave she notices that her friend is missing and starts to panic but out of nowhere Kyle appears and offers her his phone. Then she learns that her friend left her on perpose alone with Kyle in the bar.Kyle plays the good boy and offers her to walk her home, after some resuasion she finaly gives in and accepts. I know it's just a walk but they both have fun so he asks her out again.(I guarantee, you will love the conversation)Later, when he doesn't show up in the date she finds out that the day of their date his mother had an accident and died.

Nine years later the come across where else but the court room. All goes well and Kyle is a free citizen after his "crime" of shutting down twitter for two days. The electricity between them is obvious as is the fact that they haven't forgotten each other.

The book is a must read that no one should lose.In the book we also see characters from the two previous books of the series such as Jordan, his sister, and her "boyfriend" Nick.I loved the book and I can't wait for the next one.I'm looking forward to it.
