What I Read This Week

This week has been so hard on me.Firstly,I got sick and thus I had a difficulty keeping up with my h/w and I didn't have much free time to read or post anything.Nevertheless, here's what I read so far..

The book I Loved:

Wounded

By Jasinda Wilder

My Rating: 5 Stars

Favourite Quote:
"A man who takes a woman to dinner first, takes her to drink, tells her she is beautiful, pays her father to arrange a marriage to her… this is paying for sex. It is cloaked in custom and tradition, but the result – sexual domination of the man over the woman – is still prostitution.I am not willing in this. I did not choose this life. I do what I must to survive. It is this, or starve.”
My Opinion:
This book tells the story of a girl who has lost everything because of war.She has has nothing and no one to take care of her.The only thing she can do in order to survive is sell her body.
This book opened my eyes and forced me to see what war does to people. It made me realise that when you have nothing you do whatever you can to saty alive. You take decisions you wouldn't otherwise take, you resort to actions you wouldn't otherwise do.It is such an emotional book.I want to say more but I don't want to spoil anything. It's a book worth-reading.

Also,

The previous week I discover two series Fast Track series and Bloodrunners series. So,I begun reading the books, which of cource I haven't finished reading yet but I definitely will.

Bloodrunners series:
Last Wolf Standing (Bloodrunners #1)

By Rhyannon Byrd

My Rating: 4 Stars

Favourite Quote-Scene:
“With an utterly foreign sense of desperation, he did something that he’d never, in all his thirty-three years, thought he would do. He tripped her.”
My Opinion:
I laughed so hard at this particular scene. It was so hilarious seeing a confident, grown up man resorting to such actions.I really enjoyed reading it.It was fast paced, had many ups and downs,a tortured and very stubborn hero. It's a well written book and I absolutely recommend it.

Last Wolf Hunting (Bloodrunners #2) By Rhyannon Byrd
My Rating 3 Stars
My Opinion:
It's the second book in the series.I didn't quite like it.The main characters were so stubborn and pigheaded. They could have been mates all along but there was no trust between them and they didn't discuss their "problems".I also believe that the end was a little "overstretched".

I'm currently reading book 3 & 4.

Fast Track series

Flat-Out Sexy (Fast Track #1)

By Erin McCarthy

My Rating: 4 Stars

Favourite Quote:
“Well butter my butt and call me a biscuit..." Suzanne”
My Opinion:
This is a wonderful book about a woman moving on after her husband has died.I found Elec so sweet and understanding and there was a scene where Tamara's children were sick and he went to help her take care of them. It's was epic...(sigh).Definitely recommend to those who love contemporary romance...

Hard and Fast (Fast Track #2)

By Erin McCarthy

My Rating: 2 Stars

Favourite Quote:
“Me? I'm being ridiculous? You're the one flirting for your thesis. What the hell kind of degree is that anyway? A doctorate of dick tease?”
My Opinion:
This book was so ridiculous!!!I felt that Imogen, the heroine, was just repeating everything that was said with more complex vocabulary. She was such a show off and very naive.Ty on the other hand, was honest about himself and did everything to make her happy. He was so adorable....

Hot Finish (Fast Track #3)

By Erin McCarthy

My Rating: 4 Stars

Favourite Quote:
“And everyone is always saying that marriage is really hard and takes a lot of work. But the thing is, when you know that you love someone, those things don’t matter. You have to push all the everyday things and the outside world away, and just enjoy knowing that this is the man who has the chest your head is meant to lie on.”
My Opinion:
This was such a great book.It was funny,it had a nice flow and I really liked all this getting-back-my-soon-to-be ex-wife.Cause although they both thought that they were devorced the truth was that they were still married. So when they found out the truth Ryder "convinces" Suzanne to give their marriage a chance.Dedinitely recommended...

That's all for now.My next post will be about Books I'm Planning To Read.

Spirit Bound  (Sisters of the Heart, #2)

By Christine Feehan

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Spirit Bound is an amazing addition to the Sea Haven. series. This book tells the story of Judith and Lev's older brother Stefan. Both Judith and Stefan are tortured souls with a tormented past. They come together at the most sensitive time.Well, not exactly but something like that.

Stefan is in a new mission, one that includes tricking Judith into believing that he is someone else, someone he would like to be,someone who could freely love and live but the truth is that non of this is true. Not for Stefan.Dtefan believes that he's uncrupulous,a man without emotions and loyalty but when he's with Judith everything is different. He feels.Everything.

On the other hand,Judith is amiable, gentle, polite, kind and full of life.Despite her hunted past she survives and leads a happy but yet lacking life.Being with Thomas, aka Stefan, fulfills her. They desire the same things, want and need the same things.

In this book we also get to see the bond between the sisters and how well they communicate with each other. We also see how Lev and Rikki's realationship has progressed and how protective they are with each other.

It's a stupendous book that explores the many angles of love and pain and the tiny line that seperates them.In order to read it you should previously read Water Bound so that you understand what's going on.I absolutely recommend this book and I can't wait to read the following book in the series

Blurb:
Lethal undercover agent Stefan Prakenskii knew a thousand ways to kills a man—and twice as many ways to pleasure a woman. That’s what made him look forward to his new mission: arrive in the coastal town of Sea Haven and insinuate himself in the life of an elusive beauty who had mysterious ties to his past, and a link to a dangerously seductive, and equally elusive master criminal who wanted only one thing: to possess her.

Judith Henderson was an artist on the rise—an ethereal, and haunted woman whose own picture-perfect beauty stirred the souls of two men who have made her their obsession. For years she has been waiting for someone to come and unlock the passion and fire within her—waiting for the right man to surrender it to. But only one man can survive her secrets, and the shadow she has cast over both their lives.

Once Burned  (Night Prince #1)

By Jeaniene Frost

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Well, this is the first book I read by Jeaniene Frost and I'm really impressed by the flow this book had.I never got confused or lost interest in what I was reading.Nevertheless,I have to admit that it wasn't quite what I expected it to be but it definately reached my expectations.

Leila is our brave heroine who gets to have a relationship with a very old but handsome vampire.Their story begins when Leila gets kidnapped and seeks help from the person her captors told her to find with her extraordinary abilities.Vlad Tepesh isn't your average vampire. With the ability to control fire he's feared among his kind.

When Leila calls out to him,he is immediately drawed to her and thus saved her and takes her to his "humble house".While there, they both experience new things and emotions. But simoultaneously they decide to explore their passion as well.

I liked Once Burned it wasn't something new to me,as I love to read stories about vampire, but it had something unique in it!

I definately recommend this book and I'm looking forward to reading Twice Tempted, the sequel to Once Burned.

Blurb:
She's a mortal with dark powers...

After a tragic accident scarred her body and destroyed her dreams, Leila never imagined that the worst was still to come: terrifying powers that let her channel electricity and learn a person's darkest secrets through a single touch. Leila is doomed to a life of solitude...until creatures of the night kidnap her, forcing her to reach out with a telepathic distress call to the world's most infamous vampire...

He's the Prince of Night...

Vlad Tepesh inspired the greatest vampire legend of all—but whatever you do, don't call him Dracula. Vlad's ability to control fire makes him one of the most feared vampires in existence, but his enemies have found a new weapon against him—a beautiful mortal with powers to match his own. When Vlad and Leila meet, however, passion ignites between them, threatening to consume them both. It will take everything that they are to stop an enemy intent on bringing them down in flames.
