While It Lasts  (Sea Breeze #3)

By Abbi Glines

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“You see somethin' ya want, baby?"

"Maybe. I'm checking things out. Seeing if I'm interested,"

"I see something I want,"
"You do?"

"Hell yeah, I do,I love chocolate."

What? His arm reached out beside me and took the piece of chocolate cake I'd brought him.-Eva and Cage

While It Lastsis the third book in the Sea Breeze series. This book tells Cage York's story.Cage is sent off to a farm for physical-shirtless labor due to a DUI charge. In order to keep his baseball scholarship,Cage must not only behave but work on the farm as well. But come on guys...It's Cage we're talking about, can he really behave???

Eva,the farmer's daughter, has lost her to-be love of her life and even after a year and a half she still mourns him.Cage is immediately drawn to her.Although he keeps making mistakes he tries hard to form a relationship with her deeper than any other he ever had.

I found this book to be a little different than any other book I have read by Abbi Glines. It may be the fact that she didn't beat around the bush or that there weren't many boring monologues.I thoroughly enjoyed this fact.I H-A-T-E boring never-ending monologues.Of course, like always and in every book Abbi Glines has written,I couldn't not mention the easy connection created between the characters and the readers. It's not something easily found.Though,I have to say that emotion is also dominantly present. You had me in tears just from the prologue.

The characters had both had bad experiences, even in such a young age,but they both managed to find a balance despite the circumstances.Cage was confident, patient, compassionate and understanding while Eva was emotionally shattered but still maintained kind and considerate.

I definitely recommend this book. It's an enjoyable summer read for those who love a good romance. Also, those who have read Because of Lowshould absolutely read it.I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series(currently untitled Sea Breeze #4)

Blurb:

Maybe driving home after a few (or more) shots of tequila had been a bad idea, but hell, he did it all the time. The cops had to have been freaking bored to have pulled him over. He wasn’t even swerving! That’s Cage York’s story and he’s sticking to it.

Unfortunately, his baseball coach isn’t buying it. Cage has a free ride to the local junior college for baseball -- or he did, until he’d gotten a DUI. Now, Cage has to decide: does he drop out and give up his dream of getting noticed by a college in the SEC, and possibly making it into the Major Leagues -- or does he give in to his coach’s demands and spend his summer baling hay?

Eva Brooks planned out her life step by step when she was eight years old. Not once over the years had she lost sight of her goals. Josh Beasley, her next door neighbor, had been the center of those goals. He’d been her first boyfriend at seven, her first kiss at ten, her first date at fifteen, and her first tragedy at eighteen. The moment she’d received the phone call from Josh’s mother saying he’d been killed along with four other soldiers just north of Baghdad, Eva’s carefully planned life imploded in the worst way possible.

Cage isn’t real happy with his closet-sized bedroom in the back of a foul smelling barn, or his daily interactions with cows, but he knows that if he doesn’t make his coach happy then he can kiss his scholarship goodbye. Only a sick and twisted man would decide his punishment was to be working on a farm all summer. No hot babes in bikinis waiting to meet a Southern boy to make her vacation complete. Just him and the damned cows.

Oh -- and an uptight, snarky brunette with the biggest blue eyes he’s every seen. But she doesn’t count, because as hard as he’s tried to charm her out of her panties - he’s pretty sure she’d rather see him hung from the rafters than let him get a taste of her pretty little lips.

Because of Low

By Abbi Glines

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Because of Low was a really cool, fun, hot, romance story. This book is a sequel to Breathe.Although,Marcus didn't get the girl in the previous book,in this he will.

I'll start by saying what I liked of the book:

Willow Montgomery or "everyone calls me Low" is the nicest, sweetest, kindest girl in the whole world.Everything she does is selfless and since her mother died nothing good has ever happend to her. When her mother died of cancer, her sister took everything they had, treated her like trash and above everything else that b**** told Low that if she wanted to keep living in the house she had to babysit the child she unexpectedly had with some *stranger.Marcus has ,as well, family problems as his father decided it was time he lived his life.

They found each other at the most difficult part of their lives and tried to comfort one another.Of course, what they hadn't counted was their families.

I really liked their story, they both were caring and compassionate, they had to deal with tough stuff but nevertheless managed to remain together.I also looooooved the second characters Cage for example, was awesome. In the begging,I wanted to hate him because he kept ruining Low and Marcus's moments but as I kept reading I understood why he did the things he did and moreover I LOVE him, for always being there for Low even when she had nothing and no one he was there,he never left her *cough cough*.I also liked Larissa,Low's niece, she was too clever for her age and really cute(I guarantee that you will fall in love with her).Preston, one of their friends was a real friend to both of them,Amanda,Marcus's sister and finally Sadie and Jax.Oh yeah we see them a couple of times and have to say that they are still the best couple ever.

What I didn't like:

I HATED Low's sister(can't even remember her name) and Marcus's father(I can't even start saying how much I hated them) and thus I didnt really liked the end.I mean I liked the end for Low and Marcus BUT not for those two.In my mind, they are both dead and Low and Marcus get to keep Larissa and Live the three of them in the new, shiny house Marcus's dad bought.

Having finished,I have to say that I totally get the messages of the book that Love will survive no matter what and that abandonment is really hard.I highly recommend this book to everyone who have prior read Breathe.I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series While It Lasts.
