Title: Edge of Danger
Author: Katie Reus
Series: Deadly Ops #4

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo
When an assassin tries to kill undercover DEA agent Tucker Pankov the same week his boss is taken out, Tucker has good reason to be paranoid. And when other members of his elite team are not only targeted, but stripped of top-secret security clearance, Tucker has one shot at discovering who wants them dead—and why. So he kidnaps the only woman he thinks can save them.
Brilliant NSA analyst Karen Stafford doesn’t like being forced into anything, especially by someone she doesn’t trust. Yet after a hijacked US-owned drone starts attacking government installations resulting in mass casualties, Karen has to take Tucker’s side. Now, two unlikely allies must unite to prevent an escalating and unthinkable terrorist conspiracy. But as Tucker and Karen grow intimate, they realize the conspiracy runs deep, and their enemies are closer than anyone realized.
When his boss is murdered and his team framed for terrorist attacks, undercover DEA agent Tucker Pankov knows it’s time to act. After the hit on his tem, Tucker must carefully choose who to trust to help them. There is just one man that their boss really trusted so Tucker has only one shot to clear their names. But to get to this man, they will have to go through his assistant.

NSA analyst Karen Stafford can’t understand why a bunch of criminals abducted her and are insisting to contact her boss. Especially the one who calls himself Tucker since she knows that he is a notorious murderer. They are trying to convince her that they are DEA agents and the more evidence they provide the more she’s beginning to question the information she’s been given at the agency. When the Media blame Tucker’s team for a murder she’s sure they can’t have committed since they were with her at the time, Karen takes matters at her own hands.

I really liked Edge of Danger. From page one we are taken into a world of deception, lies and a world where the good guys seem to be the bad guys. Tucker and his team are patriots who have served their country and continue to do so despite the accusations against them. They didn’t really want to kidnap Karen but they had no other choice. When Tucker and Karen finally get to spend time together they are taken aback from their attraction between them. Karen is the woman who’s about to turn his world upside down. But their attraction is a challenge they will both have to win as Karen’s loyalties are questioned and Tucker’s future isn’t looking that bright.

The fourth book in the Deadly Ops series is full of non-stop action, suspense and romance. Tucker and Karen were great protagonists and I hope we get to see more of them in the next books but what I really want to know is who is next. I hope it’s someone from Tucker’s team. They were all great and I really wish to read their stories.

When his wife was murdered two years ago, Special Agent Levi Lazaro turned his back on everything he cared about. Ever since, he has thought of nothing but vengeance. Now he's finally uncovered the identities of those who killed his wife—and he's ready to destroy them at any cost. He won’t let anything stand in his way—not even a beautiful NSA agent on a mission of her own.
Special Agent Selene Wolfe prides herself on being the best. Her fearlessness and quick-thinking make her the perfect person to take down a deadly terrorist cell. But she needs Levi’s help, and the moment he shows up, Selene knows her objectivity—and her heart—are in trouble.
As the two strike an uneasy alliance, Levi finds himself tormented by his desire for Selene—a feeling he thought long dead. But when their mission takes an unexpected turn, he finds himself faced with an impossible choice: either put aside his need for revenge, or save the woman who’s reawakened his soul…
“You strip away every ounce of civility in me, Selene” - Levi
The third book in the Deadly ops series by Katie Reus tells the story of Special Agent Levi and Special Agent Selene Wolfe.

After his wife’s brutal murder and his inability to exact revenge through his agency, Levi decides to leave everything behind and uncover the identities of his enemies alone. Now two years later he has finally the names of the people who destroyed his life and he will stop at nothing to get his vengeance.

Special Agent Selene Wolfe is very close at catching the bad guys when Levi interferes with her case. Levi might have the names of his enemies but it’s Selene that has the connections and the means to bring them closer. Levi and Selene will have to work together if they want to bring down their common enemy. Selene knows that Levi wants to punish the man responsible for his wife’s murder. She knows he wants to kill him but first she needs some answers. She doesn’t completely trust him but she’s willing to take a chance with him.

Can Selene trust a man with no loyalty not to betray her?

This one was my favorite in the series! I loved the previous books but I clicked with this one. Levi was a tortured man. When he lost his wife, he lost not only his best friend but something more. He wanted to find out the reason his wife was targeted and he wanted justice. Levi tried to play by the rules but when it became clear that he would never get what he wanted through the agency, he left and became another man.

Selene owes her life to Levi even if he doesn’t remember why. Levi is aware that his wife had helped a lot of agents with their missions but what he doesn’t know is that the ties that bind them are stronger. She will help him get his revenge and she will make sure that he doesn’t jeopardize her own mission. Thousands of loves depend upon them. A wrong decision could cost them everything.

Levi was a great hero. Despite leaving his agency behind and breaking some laws, he never forgot his morals. He thought that he was a different man but deep down he was the same man that Selene met when she was young. Meeting again after all these years neither could anticipate the tension between them. Their first meeting was exploding.

As always I loved the secondary characters, in this case, Alexander and Allison. Their scenes were few but they were super amazing. Also, I was truly surprised with the ending. I never saw that coming.

Selene and Levi were two incredible main characters. Their story was one full of action, suspense and twists. They had a long and difficult road to follow but with their determination and courage they managed to reach its end.

Highly recommended!

She feels so connected to him and safe but how can she trust him?

Whew! That was quite a journey! Action packed, full of suspense and romance Chasing Danger will keep you at the edge of your seat.

This is a novella so I can’t really complain about the length. I don’t actually have anything to complain about. Hannah was a strong, young woman, who despite her not so easy past managed to fulfill her dreams whilst Dax was such an alpha male. Protective, determined, willing to do whatever it takes to protect what’s his. At the same time though, he was really sweet and funny. The chemistry between them was exploding and they shared a special bond.

I just wish the book was a bit longer. Hannah and Dax were an amazing couple and I really fell for them.

Totally recommended!

Title: Bound to Danger
Author: Katie Reus
Series: Deadly Ops #2

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N

At a benefit dinner, community activist Maria Cervantes overhears two men plotting a terrorist attack that could rock Miami to its core. But before she can alert authorities, she’s almost killed in a massive explosion—and wakes up in a hospital with no memory of what happened. As the sole survivor of the attack, she is now a person of interest to the NSA—and especially to Agent Cade O’Reilly. Because Maria is the one woman Cade has never been able to forget.
Years ago, they were closer than either was willing to admit—until Cade disappeared when Maria needed him most. Now he’s sticking by her, whether she likes it or not. Because the memories locked inside her mind could hold vital clues to the next attack. Because terrorists want her dead—and because he never wants to let her go again.
Bound to Danger is the second book in the Deadly Ops series. This book tells the story of Maria and Cade.

Meet Maria. Maria Cervantes is a philantropist who loves helping those in need. Despite being unwell, she attends a benefit dinner, bound to help her raise money for her family's organisation. However, she is at the wrong place at the wrong time, and overhears two men plotting a terrorist attack against Miami. Maria has no time to react when an explosion destroys everything around her. Waking up in a hospital and having no memory of the previous day, Maria is shocked to find out that she's the sole survivor of the attack and of course that makes her a suspect..

Enter Cade. Agent Cade O’Reilly has known Maria for years. He served in the army with her brother and used to be very close with her until a horrible accident ripped them apart. Now, years later, Cade works for the NSA and is shocked to find out that Maria is a suspect of a terrorist attack. He refuses to believe that the girl he knew would do something so terrible. And he's right!

Being the only survivor of the attack, isn't really helping Maria's case. The people behind the attack weren't planning leaving any survivors behind and so the hunt begins. They want her dead but Cade is determined to do anythng to protect the girl he could never forget. What he doesn't seem to realise, though, is that the danger is closer than he thinks...

I loved this book(how couldn't I?! It's written by Katie Reus)!!! I love what she did with this book. I loved the main characters, the action, the suspense, the romance but most of all I loved the letters Cade and Maria used to send to each other. I loved that letters. Except of being very sweet (and romantic) the letters helped me understand how their love grew, what Cade was like before the accident and the connection between them.

"Even though it is selfish... I don't want you to see anyone and I'm definitely not interested in anyone else. Haven't been from the moment I met you. - Cade"

Bound to Danger was sooo different from the first book in the series and I loved that. Katie created such a beautiful couple and the way she told us their story was perfect.

I definitely recommed this book.

Note : The book can be read as a stand alone. Although, I highly recommed reading the first one before this.
