Title: Up in Flames

Series: Rosemary Beach #13

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo
The villain of Rosemary Beach finally gets her own happy ending in the long-awaited final novel of the #1 New York Times bestselling new adult romance series by Abbi Glines.
The blockbuster #1 New York Times bestselling Rosemary Beach series ends with a bang when the troubled character readers love to hate gets her very own happily ever after in this eagerly anticipated and overwhelmingly requested story. Known for causing problems for everyone in Rosemary Beach, Nan has been growing up lately, and she’s finally taking center stage—and finding love with the man she least expected.
*Spoilers Ahead*

So Nan! What do I think about Nan? There was a time when I was with the #NanHater team and NO I’m not changing to the #NanLover team but instead, I’m creating my own team, #NanNeutral. I believe that everyone deserves a HEA but that does not mean that people have to like them.

I really liked Nan’s HEA. Nan and Cope definitely loved their HEA but some readers didn’t and that’s okay; we all have our own opinions. I definitely don’t feel that Nan deserved to be used the way she was by Major and I tried really hard to overlook it but it just felt wrong! I think that’s the moment that my feelings towards her changed. Nan is still a woman who despite everything she’s done, has feelings and can be hurt. I think Cope should have put an end to the Major situation when he moved forward with her. However, that was not the case and consequently more unnecessary drama followed.

What I really loved was Nan’s relationship with Nate, her nephew. She was very different with him and I really liked that side of hers, the vulnerable one. I’m also glad that she finally came closer with Blair! About time Nan!

Up in flames was great! I wasn’t sure what to expect and the blurb didn’t give much away but I wasn’t disappointed.

Review: The Best Goodbye (Rosemary Beach #13) by Abbi Glines

Title: The Best Goodbye
Author: Abbi Glines
Series: Rosemary Beach #13

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines comes the next sizzling novel in the Rosemary Beach series, featuring well-known playboy and Blaire’s half brother, Captain.
The look on Rose’s face had screamed that she was hiding something. Hell, she’d practically run away from me. There was something to that. I knew there was...
After ten years in the employ of a mysterious crime boss, River “Captain” Kipling is ready to leave his sordid past—and his cover occupation as an upscale restaurateur—behind him. The only thing standing in the way of his “retirement” is his commitment to launch a new restaurant in the resort town of Rosemary Beach. With his sister, Blaire, nearby, Captain can delay his dream of running a humble bar on the waterfront, but the unwanted attentions of his head server, Elle, have him itching to get out.
Until he notices Rose Henderson, the new server at the restaurant. All he knows about the pretty redhead with the cute glasses is that she’s a hardworking single mom from Oklahoma. But there’s something overly familiar about her laugh...something strange about the way she looks at Captain...
I was so excited for Captain’s story. I really liked what I read; I just didn’t love it!

We met Captain several books ago with little to none information about his past. The things we know for sure are: he’s Blaire’s step brother and he’s an assassin. Wow, what?

Let’s take things from the beginning! River/ Captain Kipling hasn’t always been an assassin, he certainly wasn’t raised one. The Best Goodbye offers a great deal about River’s past and how he came to be the man known as Captain. Captain wasn’t always cold, distant, an assassin. If things had turned out otherwise then River Kipling would have been a happy man, maybe the happiest of all. Not everyone gets to meet their soul mate at twelve but River did, until he lost her.

When memories of the past re-emerge, Captain can blame no one but Rose Henderson, the new waitress at the restaurant he is opening. Rose isn’t who she claims to be and when the truth comes out, there will be nothing to hold Captain back from taking what’s his.

I fell in love with the first 40% of the book. After that it went downhill pretty quickly. I loved how Glines presented everything and how the mystery was solved but after that I felt as if the book was rushed.

There was a gap of many years between the time Captain and Rose meet again and I don’t feel the book portrayed their re-connection. They had one beautiful past and a magical relationship but it progresses too quickly!

In addition we get to see Captain’s other secret, one he never wanted anyone to know but one he can’t hide any longer, especially from Rose.

I don’t feel satisfied from what I read but I think that you should definitely read it! It is after all the 13th book in the Rosemary Beach series and we don’t have many books left before the big end! I really don’t want this series to end!!

Next one is Nan! I don’t know how I’ll feel about her story I just know she hasn’t been my favorite person so far BUT she has quite redeemed herself in the past few books.

Until Up in flames!

Review: When You're Back (Rosemary Beach #12) by Abbi Glines

Title: When You're Back
Author: Abbi Glines
Series: Rosemary Beach #12

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo
The future is bright for Reese Ellis. She has Mase Colt-Manning, the man of her dreams, and a family she didn’t know existed until her long-lost father arrived on her doorstep in Rosemary Beach. After growing up with a cruel mother and abusive stepfather, Reese is eager to get to know the caring and charming man who wants to be a part of her life. Everything is finally falling into place.
While Reese is visiting her new family in Chicago, Mase spends time with his “cousin,” Aida, who has worshipped him since childhood. Though they’re unrelated by blood, Mase and Aida have been raised to think of each other as family. But when Reese returns, she can tell something isn’t quite right with Aida, who clearly resents Reese and excels at manipulative little games. And though Mase is unsuspecting, Reese knows Aida doesn’t love him like a cousin should...
"I wasn't sure which was worse, loving and losing or not ever knowing that kind of love at all."
Drama! This is actually what the majority of the book is about.

I L-O-V-E Abbi Glines so much. I’ve actually read all of her books and I especially love the Sea Breeze and the Rosemary Beach series.

When you’re back is the twelfth book in the Rosemary beach series and the sequel to When I’m gone, the continuity to Mase and Reese’s story.

This book picks up where the previous left off. Reese has found her father and her real family. She has moved to Texas to be with Mase and finally shape her future. Soon things get complicated when Aida, Mase’s cousin who is actually in love with him, views Reese as a threat and won’t hesitate to use any means necessary to keep them apart.

When you’re gone reminded me so much of Fallen too far. The characters are different of course, but the plot is pretty much the same. A couple in love being pulled apart by a relative, in this case Aida, Mase’s cousin while in Fallen too far it was Rush’s “sister” Nan, who I HATE! I didn’t really like that but I overlooked it because the story was actually amazing. Reese and Mase were two amazing characters but each had flaws and that made them realistic to me, which was a good thing.

What I truly loved was Captain. I have to confess that I couldn’t remember who he was and when I did find out that he is Blaire’s brother, I’m ashamed to admit that I still couldn’t remember him *gasp*. BUT I really liked him, I was obsessed with finding out more about him. Yet, I’m a bit confused about his actions and I don’t mean the flirting with Reese thing, what I mean is something that you will never, ever see coming. I really need more of Captain. I hope he’s getting a book or something because he was very secretive.
"Don't let your weakness define you, Reese. Ever. Your strengths should define you” -Captain
Another aspect I really loved was the secondary characters. We see almost everyone from the previous boos and the new additions to their families. I was very sorry for Kiro. I usually just ignore him or tend to not like him very much but I was really sorry for him and Emily. I still haven’t read their story ( Kiro’s Emily) and I don’t know when I will be ready to read it. I just know that I’m not sure I can handle the books since we all know the end isn’t a HEA. I’m pretty sure I’m going to cry my eyes out!

When you’re back was a great addition to Mase and Reese’s story with much drama and tension but with incredible characters.
"He made me feel as if I could ask him for anything and he would do it.That was a powerful yet humbling emotion." - Reese
Totally recommended!

Review: When I'm Gone (Rosemary Beach #11) by Abbi Glines

Title: When I'm Gone
Author: Abbi Glines
Series: Rosemary Beach #11

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo

Mase Colt-Manning has always preferred his humble life as a Texas rancher to his birthright as the son of a legendary rock star. In fact, he rarely visits his father’s rarefied world in Rosemary Beach, especially if it means bunking at his vile half-sister Nan’s house—until one visit leads to a chance encounter with a young, gorgeous house maid who awakens him with her off-key but spirited imitation of a country music star…
Reese Ellis finally has her freedom. After escaping a lifetime of abuse from her parents and classmates for an undiagnosed learning disorder, she seizes the opportunity to be a house maid to some of the richest families in Rosemary Beach. But her job is in jeopardy when she causes an accident at the home of her most important client, Nan Dillon. When a hot, half-naked stranger with a cowboy’s swagger comes to her rescue, she’s intrigued—then afraid once he shows his own interest. Reese has never met a trustworthy man in her life. Will Mase be any different?
I never thought that Mase would get his story but I’m really excited that he has.

After everything his family has been through all Mase wants is to spend some time with his sister and her new family. What he never expects to find is love.

While staying in his father’s home Mase meets Reese, the house cleaner. Reese has worked so hard to make a life for herself. Her life has never been easy but she’s determined to find the happiness she was denied. She was never supposed to meet Mase but she does. He is like no one she knows: kind, sweet, protective, sexy, Mase tests her boundaries. Even from their very first encounter you can tell that there’s something between them.

I loved reading Mase and Reese’s story. I was prepared for Mase but meeting Reese blew me away. She was so strong. She didn’t have to be motivated by anything. She was driven by her curiosity to taste life, to live it. With Mase’s help she managed to get out of her shell and get to know him and herself. With his help, she gained the confidence that was stolen from her.

It was just so amazing following this couple. I knew that Mase was a very simple and ordinary person- nothing like his sister Nan- but still I couldn’t believe how “homely” he seemed.

Also, in this book we got to see so many characters that we’ve seen in the previous books in the series. What I really liked though, was seeing Harlow and Grant’s HEA. They have come so far from where they were and I’m so happy for them.

As always this one was Mase and Reese’s first book and I have to warn you that it is a cliffhanger. Thankfully we won’t have to wait long since the sequel to their story will be out in a month.

Abbi is one of my top ten authors and I always love her books, especially her Rosemary Beach series, so you can’t blame me when I recommend this (cliffhanger) book.

Totally recommended!

Review: You Were Mine (Rosemary Beach #9) by Abbi Glines

Title: You Were Mine
Author: Abbi Glines
Series: Rosemary Beach #9

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo

In the eyes of the wealthy playboys who frequent Kerrington Country Club in Rosemary Beach, Tripp Newark is a hero. Under pressure from his parents to become a lawyer and lead a conservative, upper-class life, Tripp disappeared from town five years ago to travel the world, forfeiting the opportunity to inherit millions. Yet few know what he was really running from...
Bethy Lowry was unraveling long before her boyfriend drowned in a riptide trying to save her after she'd had one too many drinks--again. A trailer park kid working as a cart girl among the wealthy patrons of Kerrington Country Club, Bethy has always been impressionable. But five years ago, before she earned her reputation as a hard-drinking, easy girl, she had spent a single summer with Tripp Newark that changed her life forever...
“Things worth having don’t come easy. You have to fight for it until you’re tired of fighting, and then you take a breather and fight some more.”
Finally! The long expected story of two people who are given a second chance in love, life and happiness.

Beth’s life has never been easy. A parent who never cared, an aunt who was too strict and a social life with little to be expected. So when Tripp Newark notices her, she can’t but wonder if it’s real.

Tripp is sick and tired of his life. His rich but controlling parents, the fake popularity and even more fake relationships. When he meets Beth, he thinks that he has finally found something worth fighting for. They create a life of memories together in just one summer. But then the dream ends because Tripp couldn’t keep his promises. After their summer together, Tripp left, leaving behind his controlling and demanding parents but his girl too.

He stole her heart, he made promises and he disappeared. In the meantime, Beth lost something more precious than her heart.

Now eight years later, the time has come for Tripp to return home and for Beth to live again.

If only things were that simple.

Beth has been betrayed once and she won’t make the same mistake again. She guards her heart, numbs the pain and instead of living she just exists.

Some things are worth fighting for and Tripp realizes that if he stays away, he might lose his “one” forever.

I wanted to read Beth and Tripp’s story for a very long time. I knew that something terrible must have happened between them for Bethy to feel as she did. But Tripp was so patient, caring, he didn’t push for anything but for Beth to acknowledge her feelings.

An emotional story of forgiveness and second chances. You were mine follows Beth and Tripp’s journey to discovering love once again.

I loved their story. I especially liked the flashbacks, their memories and of course their innocent love. When they were young, their love seemed so easy and simple. Now, their lives are hard and complicated.

I don’t feel that this is the end to their story. It doesn’t feel like one. I hope their story continues.

Totally recommended!

Review: Take a Chance (Rosemary Beach #7) by Abbi Glines

Title: Take a Chance
Author: Abbi Glines
Series: Rosemary Beach #7

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo

When Harlow Manning's rocker father goes on tour, he sends her to Rosemary Beach, Florida, to live with her half-sister, Nan. The problem: Nan despises her. Harlow has to keep her head down if she wants to get through the next nine months, which seems easy enough. Until gorgeous Grant Carter walks out of Nan's room in nothing but his boxer briefs.
Grant made a huge mistake getting involved with a girl with venom in her veins. He'd known about Nan's reputation, but still he couldn't resist her. Nothing makes him regret the fling more than meeting Harlow, who sends his pulse racing. Yet Harlow wants nothing to do with a guy who could fall for her wicked half-sister even if there are no strings between Grant and Nan. Grant is desperate to redeem himself in Harlow's eyes, but did he ruin his chances before he even met her?
"She needed me. No one had ever needed me. It had made me weak." -Greant

Take a chance is the first book in the Chances new series by Abbi Glines.

So, although I'm a huge fan of Abbi Glines, I was a bit hesitant about this book and all because of Nan (if you haven't already guessed it, I'm a #Nanhater). Every time I hear her name is like I hear "Beware there is a lot of DRAMA around". Especially ever since I found out about Nan and Grant's relationship, my respect for him has dropped a lot. But I still couldn't stay away from this book. Firstly becasue it's written by Abbi Glines and secondly because I really wanted to find out Harlow's story.

Grant is one of the famous Rosemary Beach’s favorite playboys. He'll never settle down. He's realationship with Nan makes things even worse, cause even if he wanted to settle down no one would want to end up with him after his past with Nan. Grant thinks he's done with Nan but for how long?!

Meet Harlow Manning. Harlow is so sweet, loving, caring but she's off limits. For Grant, Harlow is very dangerous, even more than Nan, because she makes him want more, when he never did. And that is something that Grant isn't ready to deal with, yet.

Harlow's unfortunate enough to be Nan's half sister. Harlow was always loved and shelterd but that doesn't mae her stupid. She knows that in order to survive living with Nan she has to stay away. But how can she when their father, Kiro, who's on tour wants Harlow to stay in the house at Rosemary, exactly where Nan is. Harlow isn't the biggest fan of Nan and even comes to hate her when she witnesses Grant walking through Nan's bedroom one morning. Everything she ever felt for him is wiped away in that moment. How can she be with a man that always runs back to Nan?

Grant wants to gain Harlow's trust once again but he knows that it's not going to be easy. But even if Harlow fogives him will they ever be able to survive behind all these lies and secrets?

I'm not really sure how I felt about this book, which is a first for me. I usually LOVE Abbi's books but with this one, things are complecated. Even when Harlow forgives Grant, I'm not sure I'm able to either forgive him or trust him. To me he isn't worthy of her. I just hope that maybe the sequel wll be able to redeem him to my eyes (not that sure though). Grant will do anything in his power to restore his image to her, even stay at her side when well kept secrets begin to come out.

Take a chance is a wellsuited title. Because for Grant that's all there is, one more chance. Harlow is taking a huge risk with him, a risk I'm not sure he's worhy of, but still it's her hoice. In my opinion, I believe tha Harlow just forgave things too easily. Sure Grant is Grant but still...

On the other hand, Harlow isn't an innocent either. She has many secrets, secrets that very few know but affect all of them. I think she should have told Grant her secret from the beginning! He should have known!

Some of the things I really liked was getting some glimpses from the other characters in the Rosemary Beach series. We got to see Rush, Blaire, Woods and Della and many more. We also get to meet Mase, Harlow's brother, whom I really liked (I can't wait to see more of him) and meet Kiro for the first time. Of course, we have see Kiro before but never like this. Kiro's story will definitely shock you!

All in all, this was another great Rosemary Beach book. I was quite uncertain of this book (I still am) but I'm hopping the sequel will do justice to it. Abbi is one of my favourite authors and I'm sure she's going to figure something out. I can't wait for the next book!!

Totally recommended!
