Title: Under the Lights
Author: Abbi Glines

Expected publication: August 23rd 2016

In the follow-up to Abbi Glines’s #1 New York Times bestseller Until Friday Night—which bestselling author Kami Garcia called “tender, honest, and achingly real”—three teens from a small southern town are stuck in a dramatic love triangle.
Willa can’t erase the bad decisions of her past that led her down the path she’s on now. But she can fight for forgiveness from her family. And she can protect herself by refusing to let anyone else get close to her.
High school quarterback and town golden boy Brady used to be the best of friends with Willa—she even had a crush on him when they were kids. But that’s all changed now: her life choices have made her a different person from the girl he used to know.
Gunner used to be friends with Willa and Brady, too. He too is larger than life and a high school football star—not to mention that his family basically owns the town of Lawton. He loves his life, and doesn’t care about anyone except himself. But Willa is the exception—and he understands the girl she’s become in a way no one else can.
As secrets come to light and hearts are broken, these former childhood friends must face the truth about growing up and falling in love…even if it means losing each other forever.

Review: Up in Flames (Rosemary Beach #13) by Abbi Glines

Title: Up in Flames
Author: Abbi Glines
Series: Rosemary Beach #13

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo
The villain of Rosemary Beach finally gets her own happy ending in the long-awaited final novel of the #1 New York Times bestselling new adult romance series by Abbi Glines.
The blockbuster #1 New York Times bestselling Rosemary Beach series ends with a bang when the troubled character readers love to hate gets her very own happily ever after in this eagerly anticipated and overwhelmingly requested story. Known for causing problems for everyone in Rosemary Beach, Nan has been growing up lately, and she’s finally taking center stage—and finding love with the man she least expected.
*Spoilers Ahead*

So Nan! What do I think about Nan? There was a time when I was with the #NanHater team and NO I’m not changing to the #NanLover team but instead, I’m creating my own team, #NanNeutral. I believe that everyone deserves a HEA but that does not mean that people have to like them.

I really liked Nan’s HEA. Nan and Cope definitely loved their HEA but some readers didn’t and that’s okay; we all have our own opinions. I definitely don’t feel that Nan deserved to be used the way she was by Major and I tried really hard to overlook it but it just felt wrong! I think that’s the moment that my feelings towards her changed. Nan is still a woman who despite everything she’s done, has feelings and can be hurt. I think Cope should have put an end to the Major situation when he moved forward with her. However, that was not the case and consequently more unnecessary drama followed.

What I really loved was Nan’s relationship with Nate, her nephew. She was very different with him and I really liked that side of hers, the vulnerable one. I’m also glad that she finally came closer with Blair! About time Nan!

Up in flames was great! I wasn’t sure what to expect and the blurb didn’t give much away but I wasn’t disappointed.

Review: The Best Goodbye (Rosemary Beach #13) by Abbi Glines

Title: The Best Goodbye
Author: Abbi Glines
Series: Rosemary Beach #13

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines comes the next sizzling novel in the Rosemary Beach series, featuring well-known playboy and Blaire’s half brother, Captain.
The look on Rose’s face had screamed that she was hiding something. Hell, she’d practically run away from me. There was something to that. I knew there was...
After ten years in the employ of a mysterious crime boss, River “Captain” Kipling is ready to leave his sordid past—and his cover occupation as an upscale restaurateur—behind him. The only thing standing in the way of his “retirement” is his commitment to launch a new restaurant in the resort town of Rosemary Beach. With his sister, Blaire, nearby, Captain can delay his dream of running a humble bar on the waterfront, but the unwanted attentions of his head server, Elle, have him itching to get out.
Until he notices Rose Henderson, the new server at the restaurant. All he knows about the pretty redhead with the cute glasses is that she’s a hardworking single mom from Oklahoma. But there’s something overly familiar about her laugh...something strange about the way she looks at Captain...
I was so excited for Captain’s story. I really liked what I read; I just didn’t love it!

We met Captain several books ago with little to none information about his past. The things we know for sure are: he’s Blaire’s step brother and he’s an assassin. Wow, what?

Let’s take things from the beginning! River/ Captain Kipling hasn’t always been an assassin, he certainly wasn’t raised one. The Best Goodbye offers a great deal about River’s past and how he came to be the man known as Captain. Captain wasn’t always cold, distant, an assassin. If things had turned out otherwise then River Kipling would have been a happy man, maybe the happiest of all. Not everyone gets to meet their soul mate at twelve but River did, until he lost her.

When memories of the past re-emerge, Captain can blame no one but Rose Henderson, the new waitress at the restaurant he is opening. Rose isn’t who she claims to be and when the truth comes out, there will be nothing to hold Captain back from taking what’s his.

I fell in love with the first 40% of the book. After that it went downhill pretty quickly. I loved how Glines presented everything and how the mystery was solved but after that I felt as if the book was rushed.

There was a gap of many years between the time Captain and Rose meet again and I don’t feel the book portrayed their re-connection. They had one beautiful past and a magical relationship but it progresses too quickly!

In addition we get to see Captain’s other secret, one he never wanted anyone to know but one he can’t hide any longer, especially from Rose.

I don’t feel satisfied from what I read but I think that you should definitely read it! It is after all the 13th book in the Rosemary Beach series and we don’t have many books left before the big end! I really don’t want this series to end!!

Next one is Nan! I don’t know how I’ll feel about her story I just know she hasn’t been my favorite person so far BUT she has quite redeemed herself in the past few books.

Until Up in flames!

Review: Until Friday Night (The Field Party #1) by Abbi Glines

Title: Until Friday Night
Author: Abbi Glines
Series: The Field Party #1

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo
To everyone who knows him, West Ashby has always been that guy: the cocky, popular, way-too-handsome-for-his-own-good football god who led Lawton High to the state championships. But while West may be Big Man on Campus on the outside, on the inside he’s battling the grief that comes with watching his father slowly die of cancer.
Two years ago, Maggie Carleton’s life fell apart when her father murdered her mother. And after she told the police what happened, she stopped speaking and hasn’t spoken since. Even the move to Lawton, Alabama, couldn’t draw Maggie back out. So she stayed quiet, keeping her sorrow and her fractured heart hidden away.
As West’s pain becomes too much to handle, he knows he needs to talk to someone about his father—so in the dark shadows of a post-game party, he opens up to the one girl who he knows won’t tell anyone else.
West expected that talking about his dad would bring some relief, or at least a flood of emotions he couldn’t control. But he never expected the quiet new girl to reply, to reveal a pain even deeper than his own—or for them to form a connection so strong that he couldn’t ever let her go…
When I first found out that Abbi Glines was planning on releasing a new series I was over the moon. Until Friday Night was an incredible start to the field part series.

It’s been two years since Maggie witnessed her mother’s murder. Not wanting to relive the pain of that day, Maggie stops talking. After living two years with her godmother, Maggie is relocated to her uncle’s house. Her aunt Coralee always wanted a daughter and having Maggie closer makes her feel better. That’s why she makes Brady, her son and Maggie’s cousin, help her make friends. Maggie doesn’t want to be a burden to Brady but she can’t really complain.

Brady takes her to a party and that’s where she meets West. West has a lot of secrets but his friends know none of them. His father is dying of cancer and the only people who know are his mother, himself and now Maggie. Talking to Maggie helps him heal. No one understands his bond with Maggie but the two of them share a connection nether of them expected.

I think this is the first book by Abbi Glines in which I didn’t really like the male character. West wasn’t what I expected him to be. In the beginning he was full of rage and so mean to the girls around him but the more time he spent with Maggie the more peaceful he became. Maggie was awesome though. She endured so much but yet her inner strength was inspiring.

Until Friday night was an amazing start in the Field part series. Maggie and West were great characters with some flaws but still enjoyable. I hope we get to see Brady or Nash’s stories next.

If you love Gline’s other books then you’re surely going to love this one too.

Review: When You're Back (Rosemary Beach #12) by Abbi Glines

Title: When You're Back
Author: Abbi Glines
Series: Rosemary Beach #12

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo
The future is bright for Reese Ellis. She has Mase Colt-Manning, the man of her dreams, and a family she didn’t know existed until her long-lost father arrived on her doorstep in Rosemary Beach. After growing up with a cruel mother and abusive stepfather, Reese is eager to get to know the caring and charming man who wants to be a part of her life. Everything is finally falling into place.
While Reese is visiting her new family in Chicago, Mase spends time with his “cousin,” Aida, who has worshipped him since childhood. Though they’re unrelated by blood, Mase and Aida have been raised to think of each other as family. But when Reese returns, she can tell something isn’t quite right with Aida, who clearly resents Reese and excels at manipulative little games. And though Mase is unsuspecting, Reese knows Aida doesn’t love him like a cousin should...
"I wasn't sure which was worse, loving and losing or not ever knowing that kind of love at all."
Drama! This is actually what the majority of the book is about.

I L-O-V-E Abbi Glines so much. I’ve actually read all of her books and I especially love the Sea Breeze and the Rosemary Beach series.

When you’re back is the twelfth book in the Rosemary beach series and the sequel to When I’m gone, the continuity to Mase and Reese’s story.

This book picks up where the previous left off. Reese has found her father and her real family. She has moved to Texas to be with Mase and finally shape her future. Soon things get complicated when Aida, Mase’s cousin who is actually in love with him, views Reese as a threat and won’t hesitate to use any means necessary to keep them apart.

When you’re gone reminded me so much of Fallen too far. The characters are different of course, but the plot is pretty much the same. A couple in love being pulled apart by a relative, in this case Aida, Mase’s cousin while in Fallen too far it was Rush’s “sister” Nan, who I HATE! I didn’t really like that but I overlooked it because the story was actually amazing. Reese and Mase were two amazing characters but each had flaws and that made them realistic to me, which was a good thing.

What I truly loved was Captain. I have to confess that I couldn’t remember who he was and when I did find out that he is Blaire’s brother, I’m ashamed to admit that I still couldn’t remember him *gasp*. BUT I really liked him, I was obsessed with finding out more about him. Yet, I’m a bit confused about his actions and I don’t mean the flirting with Reese thing, what I mean is something that you will never, ever see coming. I really need more of Captain. I hope he’s getting a book or something because he was very secretive.
"Don't let your weakness define you, Reese. Ever. Your strengths should define you” -Captain
Another aspect I really loved was the secondary characters. We see almost everyone from the previous boos and the new additions to their families. I was very sorry for Kiro. I usually just ignore him or tend to not like him very much but I was really sorry for him and Emily. I still haven’t read their story ( Kiro’s Emily) and I don’t know when I will be ready to read it. I just know that I’m not sure I can handle the books since we all know the end isn’t a HEA. I’m pretty sure I’m going to cry my eyes out!

When you’re back was a great addition to Mase and Reese’s story with much drama and tension but with incredible characters.
"He made me feel as if I could ask him for anything and he would do it.That was a powerful yet humbling emotion." - Reese
Totally recommended!

Review: When I'm Gone (Rosemary Beach #11) by Abbi Glines

Title: When I'm Gone
Author: Abbi Glines
Series: Rosemary Beach #11

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo

Mase Colt-Manning has always preferred his humble life as a Texas rancher to his birthright as the son of a legendary rock star. In fact, he rarely visits his father’s rarefied world in Rosemary Beach, especially if it means bunking at his vile half-sister Nan’s house—until one visit leads to a chance encounter with a young, gorgeous house maid who awakens him with her off-key but spirited imitation of a country music star…
Reese Ellis finally has her freedom. After escaping a lifetime of abuse from her parents and classmates for an undiagnosed learning disorder, she seizes the opportunity to be a house maid to some of the richest families in Rosemary Beach. But her job is in jeopardy when she causes an accident at the home of her most important client, Nan Dillon. When a hot, half-naked stranger with a cowboy’s swagger comes to her rescue, she’s intrigued—then afraid once he shows his own interest. Reese has never met a trustworthy man in her life. Will Mase be any different?
I never thought that Mase would get his story but I’m really excited that he has.

After everything his family has been through all Mase wants is to spend some time with his sister and her new family. What he never expects to find is love.

While staying in his father’s home Mase meets Reese, the house cleaner. Reese has worked so hard to make a life for herself. Her life has never been easy but she’s determined to find the happiness she was denied. She was never supposed to meet Mase but she does. He is like no one she knows: kind, sweet, protective, sexy, Mase tests her boundaries. Even from their very first encounter you can tell that there’s something between them.

I loved reading Mase and Reese’s story. I was prepared for Mase but meeting Reese blew me away. She was so strong. She didn’t have to be motivated by anything. She was driven by her curiosity to taste life, to live it. With Mase’s help she managed to get out of her shell and get to know him and herself. With his help, she gained the confidence that was stolen from her.

It was just so amazing following this couple. I knew that Mase was a very simple and ordinary person- nothing like his sister Nan- but still I couldn’t believe how “homely” he seemed.

Also, in this book we got to see so many characters that we’ve seen in the previous books in the series. What I really liked though, was seeing Harlow and Grant’s HEA. They have come so far from where they were and I’m so happy for them.

As always this one was Mase and Reese’s first book and I have to warn you that it is a cliffhanger. Thankfully we won’t have to wait long since the sequel to their story will be out in a month.

Abbi is one of my top ten authors and I always love her books, especially her Rosemary Beach series, so you can’t blame me when I recommend this (cliffhanger) book.

Totally recommended!

When Rock finally does get Trisha in his truck, it isn’t for a date. It’s because he picks her up on the side of the road, beaten and bruised and walking to the local hospital. Before Rock knows it, football is no longer his life. Trisha Corbin is. And he’ll do anything to save her. And keep her.
In addition to Rock and Trisha’s love story, this special novel contains the wrap-up stories of all your favorite Sea Breeze couples: Sadie and Jax, Marcus and Low, Cage and Eva, Preston and Amanda, Jess and Jason, Krit and Blythe, and Dewayne and Sienna.

Excerpt
Excerpt 4-Rock, The Past
I had tried words with her. I had tried actions. I had tried everything to get her to realize that I wanted her. That I wanted to be near her. That I wanted her to be mine.
She was making me lose my mind.
I stalked toward her and she backed up against the wall as she watched me, wide eyed and confused.
Dammit she was too sexy to be fucking cute too. That was shit guys couldn’t shake off. Girls like her weren’t supposed to exist. They made men weak. She had me so fucking tangled in knots it was painful.
I placed my palms on the brick wall on either side of her head and stopped only an inch from our bodies touching. “What do I have to do to get you to get this? What, Trisha? Fuck, you’re all I can think about,” I said softly as my gaze dropped from her eyes to those plump lips I played with in my fantasies.
The tip of her pink tongue wet her bottom lip and I was lost.
My mouth covered hers and the small gasp that broke from her lips was the only chance I needed to slide my tongue onto the sweet heat of hers. I had kissed a lot of girls. But never had I felt like my world was being completely rocked.
Trisha’s hands slipped over my shoulders and she held onto me. And that was fucking perfect. She wasn’t pushing me away. She was holding on to the ride and, damn, it was one hell of a ride.
The softness of her lips moved under mine and then she began to join in on the kiss. It took all my willpower to keep from pressing her against the wall. I had to be careful with her ribs. But I wanted my hands on her. I wanted to get lost in how wonderful she felt.
When she leaned into me and whimpered I broke the kiss and moved back instantly. “Are you okay?” I asked, looking down at her ribs.
She didn’t respond, and panic that I’d hurt her started to grip me. I found her eyes and saw the same arousal in them that I had been feeling until that whimper had scared me.
I started to lower my mouth again, needing to taste her more.
“No, wait,” she breathed, pressing both her hands on my chest this time.
“Did I hurt you?” I asked her.
She shook her head. “No, it’s just. I… we shouldn’t… why did you do that?”
I closed my eyes and forced myself to be patient with her. Trisha had her issues and trust was one of them.
“Because I’m crazy about you. Because your lips are the prettiest damn lips I’ve ever seen. Because you think you’re a burden to me when I just want to keep you close to me all the time. Because you are making me lose my mind. Because I don’t want to be your friend, Trisha. I want to be yours.”
Her mouth fell slightly open as her blue eyes stared up at me in surprise. How did she not already know all this? It wasn’t like I was being subtle.
“You’re… you’re crazy about me?” she asked.
I held back a laugh. “Yeah, and everyone seems to see it but you.”

Harlow had taken the chance, falling hard and fast for the guy who thrilled her with his all-consuming desire. After a lifetime of avoiding bad boys like Grant, she had opened herself to the possibilities of love...
But a life-changing secret has torn them apart, and now Grant and Harlow must decide if they have enough fight to make it work - or if the pain of betrayal has permanently destroyed their future.
“Love shouldn't make our choices for us, it should just add importance to our choices.”
When I first read take a chance, I was very disappointed by both the book and Grant. Grant was such a weak character and not the hero I expected to see. But after finishing One more chance, my opinion towards Grant has changed. I was really excited when I found out that Grant is getting a book but even now that I have finished his story, I can’t say that he’s my favourite. I’m really glad though, that Abbi managed to redeem him to my eyes.

Grant knows that he overreacted over Harlow’s secret and he’s determined to win her back. He can’t imagine a life without her. He’ll do anything in his power to get her back. If she wants him back, that is!

Harlow is miserable without Grant. She misses him too much but things are more complicated now. You see Harlow has one more secret, a secret that could destroy everything they have built. Is Grant willing to take this chance? Is he willing to risk everything he loves?

I was really impressed by Harlow’s strength. She believed that Grant made her stronger but in my opinion it was her determination that helped her survive. Grant wasn’t much understanding but in the end Harlow was so adamant to go through with her decision, that he couldn’t but support her.

What I really loved seeing was all the love and support Harlow got from her family, especially her brother, Mase. Mase was actually one of the main reasons I read this book. I can’t wait to read his own story. Nan, whom I don’t quite love, was surprisingly amiable enough in this book. She acted as if she profoundly cared about Harlow, especially in the end when she tried to help any way she could. I’m not saying that I’ve forgotten everything she’s done but I believe that she deserves a second chance.

Grant and Harlow’s story, was a bittersweet one. Everything and everyone was tested in the book. I believe that it wasn’t only Grant who got a second chance but Harlow and Nan as well. So if you have any doubts about reading this book, Stop! This book is nothing like the previous one.

Totally recommended!

Review: Take a Chance (Rosemary Beach #7) by Abbi Glines

Title: Take a Chance
Author: Abbi Glines
Series: Rosemary Beach #7

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo

When Harlow Manning's rocker father goes on tour, he sends her to Rosemary Beach, Florida, to live with her half-sister, Nan. The problem: Nan despises her. Harlow has to keep her head down if she wants to get through the next nine months, which seems easy enough. Until gorgeous Grant Carter walks out of Nan's room in nothing but his boxer briefs.
Grant made a huge mistake getting involved with a girl with venom in her veins. He'd known about Nan's reputation, but still he couldn't resist her. Nothing makes him regret the fling more than meeting Harlow, who sends his pulse racing. Yet Harlow wants nothing to do with a guy who could fall for her wicked half-sister even if there are no strings between Grant and Nan. Grant is desperate to redeem himself in Harlow's eyes, but did he ruin his chances before he even met her?
"She needed me. No one had ever needed me. It had made me weak." -Greant

Take a chance is the first book in the Chances new series by Abbi Glines.

So, although I'm a huge fan of Abbi Glines, I was a bit hesitant about this book and all because of Nan (if you haven't already guessed it, I'm a #Nanhater). Every time I hear her name is like I hear "Beware there is a lot of DRAMA around". Especially ever since I found out about Nan and Grant's relationship, my respect for him has dropped a lot. But I still couldn't stay away from this book. Firstly becasue it's written by Abbi Glines and secondly because I really wanted to find out Harlow's story.

Grant is one of the famous Rosemary Beach’s favorite playboys. He'll never settle down. He's realationship with Nan makes things even worse, cause even if he wanted to settle down no one would want to end up with him after his past with Nan. Grant thinks he's done with Nan but for how long?!

Meet Harlow Manning. Harlow is so sweet, loving, caring but she's off limits. For Grant, Harlow is very dangerous, even more than Nan, because she makes him want more, when he never did. And that is something that Grant isn't ready to deal with, yet.

Harlow's unfortunate enough to be Nan's half sister. Harlow was always loved and shelterd but that doesn't mae her stupid. She knows that in order to survive living with Nan she has to stay away. But how can she when their father, Kiro, who's on tour wants Harlow to stay in the house at Rosemary, exactly where Nan is. Harlow isn't the biggest fan of Nan and even comes to hate her when she witnesses Grant walking through Nan's bedroom one morning. Everything she ever felt for him is wiped away in that moment. How can she be with a man that always runs back to Nan?

Grant wants to gain Harlow's trust once again but he knows that it's not going to be easy. But even if Harlow fogives him will they ever be able to survive behind all these lies and secrets?

I'm not really sure how I felt about this book, which is a first for me. I usually LOVE Abbi's books but with this one, things are complecated. Even when Harlow forgives Grant, I'm not sure I'm able to either forgive him or trust him. To me he isn't worthy of her. I just hope that maybe the sequel wll be able to redeem him to my eyes (not that sure though). Grant will do anything in his power to restore his image to her, even stay at her side when well kept secrets begin to come out.

Take a chance is a wellsuited title. Because for Grant that's all there is, one more chance. Harlow is taking a huge risk with him, a risk I'm not sure he's worhy of, but still it's her hoice. In my opinion, I believe tha Harlow just forgave things too easily. Sure Grant is Grant but still...

On the other hand, Harlow isn't an innocent either. She has many secrets, secrets that very few know but affect all of them. I think she should have told Grant her secret from the beginning! He should have known!

Some of the things I really liked was getting some glimpses from the other characters in the Rosemary Beach series. We got to see Rush, Blaire, Woods and Della and many more. We also get to meet Mase, Harlow's brother, whom I really liked (I can't wait to see more of him) and meet Kiro for the first time. Of course, we have see Kiro before but never like this. Kiro's story will definitely shock you!

All in all, this was another great Rosemary Beach book. I was quite uncertain of this book (I still am) but I'm hopping the sequel will do justice to it. Abbi is one of my favourite authors and I'm sure she's going to figure something out. I can't wait for the next book!!

Totally recommended!

Review: Simple Perfection (Perfection #2) by Abbi Glines

Simple Perfection (Perfection #2)

By Abbi Glines

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fav Quote:

"Hold her for me. Hold her tight. Don't let her be lonely. Don't let her hurt. Please."

What the hell has just happened???

When I started reading it I expected to read something light, romantic story with a HEA! Well, I got my HEA but it didn't feel like it (and no it wasn't because of the characters but because of a tragical accident *cough cough*)...

Woods and Della are back together but for how long?

The book starts right where the last left off. We see Woods father's funeral and how his relationship with his mother progressess. After his father's death, Woods isn't as lost as he thought he would be. His mother on the other hand, is unable to "cope" and needs someone to help her deal with everything! Who better than lovely sweet Angelina!!!

Simple Perfection is everything except simple! There are so many obstacles that need to be overcome. There are many changes, doubts, misunderstarndings. Both Woods and Della want to be worthy of each other and that leads to a series of problems! But before being "worthy" of him, Della needs to figure out who she is and what she wants her future to include. Will she make the right decision or will she destroy them both???

"You just love me."
"More than life."

I LOVED L-O-V-E-D their story. Woods and Della's final journey was simply perfect. So many emotions, so many mistakes all lead to a big decision that will define them both!

"Della Sloane had become my addiction when I hadn't been available. In all her twisted perfection she had made me fall helplessly in love with her. A life without her in it seemed pointless."

In Simple Perfection we see characters from the Too Far trilogy as well as characters from the former book. We get to meet Angelina "better" as in we get to see another side of her (a more violent one *if you know what I mean*), we learn more about Bethy and Tripp's past and the highlight of the book is a glimpse inside Grant/Nan/Harlow's story (Take A Chance coming out on February 3rd 2014!

The only thing I hated no LOATHED about this book was one huge huge tragic event! So, I have the need to ask why???

All in all, I absofuckinglutely loved this book and I highly recommend it!!!

NOTE: This book is part of a series. In order to read it, you should first read the first book! It can't be read as a standalone!!

Synopsis

Woods is ready and willing to sacrifice everything for her when the sudden death of his father leaves him with his mother to care for and a business to manage.

Sometimes It Lasts (Sea Breeze #5)

By Abbi Glines

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fav Quote:

“Jeremy brought you halfway, but the rest is mine. I’ve had you the rest of the way.”

Finally, Eva and Cage's story continues to this amazing novella!

I have been waiting sooooooooo long for this one, I hope every character of the series gets one!

Eva and Cage are planning their future but an unexpected illness tears them apart. Eva's father is sick, but that doesn't stop her from wanting the best for Cage. So, when Cage goes to college (after Eva insists) as planned, Eva begins losing herself little by little every day...

A message is all it takes for Eva to lose her faith in Cage. So, when she mourns her father it's not Cage the one who helps her deal with her pain but Jeremy. During her father's illness, it was Jeremy that stood beside her, Jeremy who helped her deal with everyday life, Jeremy who took care of her home, her father and Eva herself, and that's why it's Jeremy's ring that sits on Eva's finger.

Cage can't belive how fool he was to trust wrong people, but he learnt his lesson. His mistake costed him his "life". But his insecurities costed him more than that! Seeing Jeremy's ring on her finger is all it takes for Cage to finally wake up and fight for his girl. He lost her once and his not willing to let that happen again...
 description
I love their forever! Before reading it I didn't know what I was putting myself throught but this book is very hard to read. Believe when I say that crying your eyes out and reading at the same time is the hardest thing I've ever done (I think I deserve an award or something)!

Sometimes It Lasts is not a book about Eva and Cage only. In this book we get to see almost all the characters from the previous books in the series and not only see them but we get to learn how their relationships have developed since their books. I think that Low was one of the characters that we saw a little more and that was very fun! I don't want to spoil anything but this book has two "tiny" surprises (but we only get to meet one!). Anyhow, Low is an incredible friend to have around...
“No Jarritos in your fridge when I got here? Really? What am I supposed to think? That I’m not welcome in your new digs? Because I have the key you sent me,”
Loved it. Highly recommended...

NOTE: This cannot be read as a standalone! To understand this book you have to read While It Lasts first!

The door opened and in she walked as if I’d summoned her with my desperation. Her long dark hair was loose and wind blown curling around her shoulders. The shorts she was wearing had once been a pair of her favorite jeans. She’d cut them off and although she looked f*cking amazing in them she had cut them way too short. The snug fitting shirt she had on she’d bought to wear to my games this past year. It had my number on it.

Dewayne let out a low whistle. “Damn, York, when you decide to f*cking settle down you sure pick some prime choice.”

“Don’t. Finish. That. Thought,” I cut him off before he could completely piss me off. If Dewayne was looking so was every other male in the damn bar. I jumped up and went to get what was mine.

“Go get her,” Preston called out with a hoot of laughter. Stupid shit knew what it felt like to have your girl looked at. He dealt with that about as well as I did. He was just an ass when he wanted to be
.
“Hey,” Eva’s eyes lit up when she saw me coming through the crowd to get her.

I didn’t reply. I needed her first. Pulling her against me I licked her bottom lip before I slid my tongue into her mouth hungrily. I’d missed her taste today. She’d been gone too long. Giggling Eva pulled back before I completely forgot where we were and smiled up at me.
“I missed you too,” she said.

Sometimes It Lasts: Teaser

WHILE IT LASTS is currently on sale for only $1.99 on Amazon in the US

SOMETIMES IT LASTS releases as an ebook on August 27, 2013. (Print coming to stores later) COVER for Sometimes It Lasts also coming soon!

"Here is the teaser I (Abbi Glines) read last night in the live chat for those of you who missed it. (Note: this is in its unedited glory.) "

Cage had been helping Daddy all week. It was as if it was last summer again… but it wasn’t. This time my dad was working with Cage and I was allowed near Cage… and my daddy was sick. “He should be back soon. He had to go take care of some things and get more of my things.” I trailed off because Daddy liked to try and talk me into leaving here when he got a chance.

He let out a weary sigh and I knew he was about to say something he knew I didn’t want to hear. I prepared myself for him telling me I needed to leave again. “I know you want to stay with me. I understand it. And honestly I’m glad you do. I want to spend as much time with you as I can. You’re the most important thing in my life. You know that right?”

I wasn’t going to cry. I couldn’t do that to him. He needed to talk and I had to be strong enough to let him. I nodded instead.

“Good. ‘Cause I need to say something that you’re not gonna wanna hear. But I love you and I want you to always be happy. I know Cage makes you happy. He may not have been my choice for you but he loves you like a crazy man. I’ve seen it all over his face this week. He’ll do anything you ask him to including go jumping off a bridge. So, I am telling you this cause someone needs to. You gotta let that boy go, baby girl. He came here last summer because he had a plan. He had one chance to get the future he wants and even though he is a rascal he is a smart boy. He got what he wanted. But if you ask him to let it go he will. In a heartbeat. Don’t make him choose. Let him go. Make it okay for him to go take that dream he fought for. Do it ‘cause you love him.”

Daddy and Jeremy had always thought alike. I should have known this was bothering Daddy too. It warmed my heart to know my daddy was thinking of Cage’s best interest. Not just mine. I wanted my daddy to love Cage too.

“I’m talking to him tonight. He’ll be going tomorrow. I’m not giving him a choice. I’m not breaking things off we will just do the long distance thing.”
