The boy in her dreams is the sequel to The Girl in between and follows the story of Bryn, a teenage girl who suffers from Klein-Levin Syndrome ( a disease that makes her sleep for long periods) and Roman, a boy who just woke up from coma.

This book starts off exactly were the previous left off. Roman has woken up from the coma and Bryn believes that things are finally looking better. But she couldn’t be more wrong. Roman may have woken up but he has changed. He’s no longer the boy Bryn met in her dreams. Roman is facing his own demons now and Bryn can’t do anything but wait for him. However, they both know that Bryn is running out of time. Her symptoms are getting worse forcing her to go to Germany to be part of an experimental cure for her disease.

Across the ocean, Roman realises his mistake too late. He should have never let Bryn leave like that. So, when Bryn’s uncle gives him the opportunity to fix his mistakes, Roman is happy to accept. Will the thruth set them free or rip them apart?

The boy in her dreams was insanely incredible. It was so interesting following their journey and it was quite a journey. I admired Bryn for her strength and Roman for his determination. They were both such strong characters. But so were and the secondary ones. Bryn’s mother has suffered so much yet she remained strong, calm and efficient for her daughter’s sake.

Moreover, I loved Dani, Bryn’s cousin and Felix, Dani’s boyfriend. Felix! Oh, Felix. What to say about him?! I think I might have liked him more than Roman. He was so sweet, charming, loving and protective! How could I not like him?! Anyway, Dani played a big role but I cannot say that I liked her that much in this book.

However, there were times that I got lost in the story. There were so many things going on at the same time that I truly lost the flow of the story. When things got quite normal again, it was much easier to follow the story. Besides that, everything else was great.

This book hid many secrets and it was very interesting unravelling them. There were many new characters and namy twists and turns. Watch out for the new characters! You never know who’s telling the truth.

Filled with action, suspense, romance, dreams and two incredible protagonists, The boy in her dreams will surely capture your attention.

The Girl in between was the first book I read by Laekan Zea Kemp but it surely won't be the last.

This book tells the story of Bryn, a seventeen year old girl who sufferes from a desease called Klein-Levin Syndrome. KLS makes her sleep for long periods. It may be a week or a month. The time varies based on the patients. KLS mostly affects teenagers and wears off as they get older. But not in Bryn's case. Bryn is deteriorating and pretty fast. Her symptoms are getting worse and as if everything wasn't already bad, Bryn has started dreaming. Usually patients with KLS can't dream. They just sleep.

Bryn has her own place where she goes when she sleeps. At that place she usually sees her memories, until him. A boy she's never seen before, gets trapped at the same place with Bryn. But opposed to Bryn , Roman can't get away from there. Every time Bryn sleeps, she ends up there but after a while she wakes up in the real world. Roman can't wake up. He's trapped but they both know that since he exists in he dreams, then he must exist in the real world as well. So the journey begins. Bryn tries to collect every clue available in order to find him, before it's too late. But is she really prepared to face the truth about Roman???

This book was mind blowing. I loved the story although the flow was pretty slow. What I also loved was the way the author chose to present us the story. The suspese was killing me. I was so anxious to meet the "boy's" identity. Both Bryn and Roman were so braive and strong. Bryn may be sick but that doesn't mean she has no life. She tries to finish high school and has dreams of going to university. She tries to be social, despite the fact that her desease is killing all of her progress but she never gives up. She always tries.

What I also loved, was the secondary characters. Dani, Bryn's cousin, was an intriguing character who helped Bryn any way she could, Felix, Bryn's friend was an amazing character and a briliant man, who also proved to be a loyal friend as well. Drew, Bryn's ex-broyfriend, I really hated. He was one of those boys who always screw up and always believe the should be forgiven. Yeah, he's not going to be winning any boyfriend of the year award any time soon. Bry was so much better off him. Roman was seriously a better man for her.

Despite everything though, I have to warn you that the Girl in Between is a cliffhanger. Nothing major but one that will keep you at the edge of your seat until you read the sequel.

I'm looking forward to reading more of their story!!!

“Can I show you something?” she asked.

I wasn’t sure if I should follow her or even if I could but I didn’t want her to let go of me. I didn’t want her to disappear again and leave me there alone, still lost. So I nodded.

We swam to the end of the dock and she untied the small rowboat. She climbed in first, reaching for the oars and holding it steady as I sat down across from her. I watched the house recede. My eyes trailed back to the road, still waiting for someone to come down it. They didn’t.

“Where are we going?” I asked.

“Not far.”

I searched the horizon but it was empty. No land. No boats. It felt like we were headed straight for the skyline, about to fall off into nothing. The waves grew choppy and I wanted to take the oars from her but I didn’t know where we were going and for some reason I liked listening to the slow rhythm of her breathing as she fought the waves.

The boat finally grinded to a stop and when I looked over the edge the water was so clear I could see tiny creatures bedding in the sand, their thin shadows eclipsed by the girl as she climbed onto the sandbar.

“I went to the Bahamas once when I was thirteen,” she said. “The water was so blue. I strapped on a snorkel and spent the entire week just walking from sandbar to sandbar, face underwater watching the fish swim by.”

I followed her out of the boat and a school of bright yellow fish cut between us, scales glinting.

“This?” I said.

She smiled and walked around to the other side of the boat. The water was a dark grey, my legs tangled in a mess of rust colored seaweed. I could barely see my feet, their shadows disappearing beneath swirls of mud.

“This is the Gulf of Mexico near Galveston. I tagged along on one of my mom’s work trips. It was just a few weeks after Hurricane Ike.”

I stared at the muddled outline where the two oceans converged—one light, one dark. I waited for them to mix, for that invisible seam to break free but it didn’t.

We waded farther out into the clear water, another school of fish bumping against my calf, bright red coral twisting near my ankles. It was startling.

“I used to come here,” she said. “When I first got sick I would stand here and it wouldn’t feel like purgatory anymore. They’re memories.” She faced the beach. “My memories.” Then she looked at me. “I don’t know why you’re here or if you’re—”

“Real?” I asked.

She nodded and I wasn’t so sure anymore either.

“But you don’t have to be afraid,” she said. “It doesn’t have to feel like purgatory.”

I watched the sunlight reflecting off the ocean and dancing against her skin. Her eyes were lighter in the sun; green churning to a soft sea foam like the waves crashing near our feet. And standing there in that invisible seam between two oceans, two worlds, she was just as startling.

The tide swirled in her gaze and I watched it shimmer there, glinting from a soft grey to jade and then I said, “It doesn’t.”

Wow..!!

Chasing Nikki was an incredible book.I looooooved Chase and how strong he was despite all the tragedies life brought on him.He managed to recoved throught all the pain and make himself the person Nikki new he could be.Not only did he survived but he also managed to thrive in the end.

It's so hard to write this review,because I can't stop crying.LIfe is so unfair for some people and Chase certainly one of them.I understand the message of the book "Life is short and unpredictable so live it to the fullest" and I totally agree but I can't accept the fact that someone can really continue after all those things.I know why he could but others wouldn't.I wouldn't.

Chase,is a teenager whose father recently died and decides to deal with his pain by taking drugs and consuming alcohol.After his mother bails him out of jail she decides it will be better if they move.And so they do.New environment is really what Chase needed.He meets new people,makes new friens and encounters Nikki.Nikki and Chase are much alike,so it's not difficult to become more than friends.Although,when they first meet she misjudges him later she understands her mistake.

And so it begins.They go out a lot,spent time together but he never pushes for more.Time passes but they still survive,they dream their future together they make plans and life for once is beautiful.Until tragedy strucks.

I won't say more than that I would never expected the end.I have no idea how Lacey Weatherford managed to write the book,I had to stop every two seconds to grab another tissue and clear my eyes before being able to read again and repeat the process more than a dozen of times.The book cannot be read without having at least two boxes of tissues.Nonetheless,it's the third book I read from only the boy's Pov(yeah..the book is written only in Chase's Pov) although there is a scene where we see things from Nikki's side.

The book is a very emotional one,it broke my heart seeing Chase so hurt ,destroyed and devastated by his own feelings.I guess DEATH can do that to people especially after loosing one you love.The Scene that gets 5 stars though,is the letter scene.I swear I spent a whole box of tissues only for that scene.To be able to look inside her heart was what he required to continue living,to see how proud she was of him,she was the only reason he pulled through the nightmare(because that's what his life was).The only thing I really hated was the Epiloque.It was insulting not only for him but for me too. Recommended it to every boy out there as well as to every romantic heart.

My opinion:

Well,to begin with the story was too short.I would have given more stars if it contained more informantion about Link's life or even about Ridley.Nothing significant happend to this very short  novella.The end was really confusing as :Macon sent Link to deliver  a letter to an old man(Obidias), who Hunting had almost killed by the time Link made it to the old man's place.There we learn that "The Order is broken"  and the Apocalypse is coming.Guess this will make sense when we read Beautiful Chaos .
