The Darkest Craving (Lords of the Underworld #10)

By Gena Showalter

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Fav Quote:

“No. I never asked for your help. Never wanted it.”

“You did, too! Your eyes begged me, and you can’t deny it. You couldn’t see your eyes, so you have no idea what they were doing.”

“I think that’s the most illogical argument I’ve ever heard.”

Where to begin?

I'll start by saying that this book was way too different from the other books in the series...

Kane and Josephina's (known as Tink as well) story takes place in a whole new paranormal world, the Fae world. Specifically, the story is set in Séduire, a complete change of scenery...

There the Lords of the Underworld are like celebrities and even have their own fan clubs (Josephina belongs to both Torin and Paris's fan club. Poor Kane!) !

After spending some time in hell, the only thing Kane wants is to be left alone. That is until a mysterious girl saves him and demands a "little" favor in return.

Kane was not what I expected him to be.Yes, he was a warrior at heart, fierce and protective BUT in contrast with the other Lords he hated his demon. I mean he really LOATHED disaster. Well, I know that the other Lords didn't actually like their demons but they still utilized their demons' abilities and one could say that they were quite in some kind of agreement with them! But Kane no! None of these things qualify for him. He loathes his demon, he considers him an enemy!

As long as Josephina/Tink is concerned, I'll have to say that my opinon is ambiguous. In the beginning, we see her as a strong, confident woman but as the book progresses we see another different side of her, one that I'll have to say that I didn't actually like (to say the least). It's not often that we see weak heroines in the LOTU series. I mean even Ashlyn (Maddox's mate) was more "powerful" than Josephina and she wasn't even immortal (that says much!)

However, Josephina had a very hard life and I think that explains her behavior.Despite being a princess, she was treated like a servant. Her own family hated her and mistreated her (actually that's an understatement, used her is the appropriate word).

What I loved:

That's easy! I loved the "secondary" characters-stories. That would be Torin & Mari (Yeah, we've got not only Torin's partner!? but a new character as well~an intriguing one) and Cameo & Lazarus (do you remember him???No, well he's the male Strider killed in The Darkest Surrender , wondering how he's alive and paired up with Cameo???Well that one is easy as well, read the book to find out).

Another thing I loved was the number of appearences William and his children (the Horsemen of the Apocalypse) made...

What I didn't like:

Apart from Torin, Cameo, William and sometimes Lucien, the other Lords weren't "portrayed" much (almost never)!!!Why's that I don't know!!!I liked seeing the other Lords in the previous books, learning how they were doing...

The end was also kind of a little dramatic (yeah that's the word).I couldn't believe it no matter how much I wanted a HEA.

And last but not least, I couldn't "connect" with the main characters!I think that was the worst part...

All in all, the book was good.I definitely recommend it, to the LOTU fans out there (actually this book is a MUST-read for those who are planning on reading the next book).

                                            Synopsis

Having endured weeks of torture in the bowels of hell, Kane wants nothing to do with his beautiful rescuer, Josephina Aisling. The half-Fae female threatens to awaken the demon of Disaster inside him—a beast he’s determined to kill, no matter the price.

Josephina is hunted by a brutal enemy—her royal family—and Kane is her only source of protection. He’s also the only male to ever set her aflame, and even he succumbs to the heat. But as they navigate the treacherous world of the Fae, they are forced to make a choice: live apart…or die together.

An excerpt from THE DARKEST CRAVING!

Posted by Gena Showalter on July 15, 2013 at 10:30am

His skin prickled, and maybe he moved. Maybe he spoke. Her gaze lifted to meet his. Her lips parted on a startled exhalation. Could she see the rawness of his need?

“Kane.” A breathy entreaty.

In that moment, the cry of the demon ceased to matter. The past faded, leaving only the present…the future, and the unstoppable tide of the pleasure to come. Every bone vibrated. He needed to get inside her. Here. Now.

It would be agony.

It would be ecstasy.

Tension coiled low in his gut, only to spring apart and jolt him into a stand. “Leave us,” he said, his voice a broken rasp.

No questions. No protests. The two seamstresses flittered from the room, shutting the door behind them.

The teapot shattered on the tray, dark liquid spilling everywhere, glass flying. Disaster’s newest attempt to deter him.

Tinker Bell didn’t seem to notice, was too busy watching him. “I-is something wrong?”

Silent, he stalked toward her. A predator with a purpose. He was done resisting. Done thinking about all the reasons why not. Today, he was taking something.

Perhaps sensing the dark, greedy urges driving him, she straightened with a snap. Her breathing quickened. “Kane,” she said.

“Tell me to stop.” He stood a mere heartbeat away, their gazes locked together, trapped. Nothing else would halt the madness.

“I…I can’t.”

Rogue Rider (Lords of Deliverance #4)

By Larissa Ione

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“Oompa-Loompa Land?” He shook his head. “No way. Orange people give me the creeps. I don’t even like fake tans. I’d never be their king.”

― Reseph

Rogue Rider is the fourth book of Lords of Deliverance series. Finally we get to read Peseph's story which I definitelly enjoyed....
To begin with,Rogue Rider starts where Lethal Riderleft off.Reseph is suffering from amnesia when he's found by Jillian.Jillian takes him in her home and looks after him until he gets better. In the meanwhile, the others(Ares,Limos and Thanatos)are not aware that Reseph still lives.Imagine their surprise when Reaver tells them that he's not really dead. They begin searching for him, when after some info they get from Kynan, they find him and take him away from Jullian. That's when Reseph starts remembering the things Pestilence did.

I really liked this book and I'm so content that the series isn't ending. The attraction between Reseph and Jillian is instant.I loooooooveed the new Reseph ,though,I hated the old one and Pestilence.Did I mention that we get to see all three???

In this book we also learn more about the other Horsemen and how their lives have progressed.I'm not going to spoil anything. You should definitely read it.I'm just going to say that Limos's dream finally came true...Oh,there are also many "surprises" in Rogue Rider.

If you have read the previous books then you should absolutely read this one as well. It's an amazing book with an incredible ending that prepares us for the following book,Reaver's story...

Blurb:

The prophecies were there but no one listened. Until now. They are the Lords of Deliverance and they have the power to ward off Doomsday . . . or let it ride.

Jillian Cardiff came to this remote mountain town to forget the demon attack that almost killed her. Instead, she rescues - and falls for - a gorgeous stranger who has no memory of anything other than his name. Handsome, charming and protective, Reseph seems like the kind of man that Jillian can trust. But with hints of a troubling history of his own, he's also the kind of man that can be very dangerous . . .

Reseph may not know his background, or why he mysteriously appeared in Jillian's life, but he knows he wants to stay. Yet when Jillian's neighbours are killed and demon hunters arrive on the scene, Reseph fears that he's putting Jillian in danger. And once it's revealed that Reseph is also Pestilence, the Horseman responsible for ravaging the world with death and destruction, he and Jillian must face the greatest challenge of all: can they forget the horrors of a chilling past to save the future they both desire?

Sovereign Hope  (The Hope Series #1)

By Frankie Rose

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“You can't have 'ass' as a word. You're supposed to put down words that you know relate to Oliver.Like hockey. Or six pack.Unless you're commenting on the fact that he has a really great ass, in which case ewww, but okay.” -Farley

Sovereign Hope is an amazing book. Not only do I love the cover but the story was also very enjoyable and easy to read.

The charactres were mature enough and I truly liked that. What I mean,is that they weren't too serious nor were they behaving like brats.Farley was awesome but yet had some flaws which made her more believable as a character.Daniel,Oh my God,is perfect.Especially when he finally lets the walls around him come down.I had so much fun reading about them, they made me smile countless times.

In Sovereign Hope,Frankie Rose has created a whole new world of paranormal creatures. The Reavers in this world, are the most powerful immortal creatures and also the villains.Which doesn't sound so original but yet it's important for the prophesy to be fulfilled.

All in all,I absolutely loved this book. The story is told in a 3rd person point of view which is beneficial for readers as we get to see what every and each character is thinking.

I definitely recommend this book and I'm also looking forward to reading Eternal Hope, the second book in the series.

Blurb:

Everyone has a soul

Some are just worth more than others

Farley Hope was seventeen when her mother disappeared. In the last six months not much has changed, except that her eighteenth birthday came and went and still no sign of Moira. Her life is just as complicated as it always was. Since her father died in a car crash before she was even born, she’s officially parentless, and to top it all off she’s still suffering from the hallucinations. Mind-splitting, vivid hallucinations- the kind prone to induce night terrors and leave you whimpering under your covers like a baby.

The last thing on her mind is boys. Farley is on break from St. Judes’ when she meets Daniel. It’s not some casual run in at a party, or even a blind date with friends, though. Daniel is the guy following her in his 1970′s Dodge Charger; the guy standing at her window in the LA lunch hour traffic, trying to persuade her to leave everything behind and follow him. And he's hot as all hell.

The moment Farley lays eyes on Daniel, everything changes. He is cold and withdrawn, but there are cracks in his harsh veneer- cracks that betray the secrets he is trying so hard to hide. Farley is drawn into a world that will shake apart everything she thought she ever knew. There are truths out there that she must learn: that a person’s soul is their only real currency, and there are people who would do anything to take hers; that loving someone can hurt so much more than hating them; but, most importantly, when your future is predestined, there is little you can do to change it.

Farley Hope is prophesied.

Her coming has been awaited for hundreds of years.

She is destined to end the tyranny of the Soul Reavers.

To do so she must die.

Wicked Nights (Angels of the Dark #1)

By Gena Showalter

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“I think that’s the sweetest thing you’ve ever said to me.”

“I am a sweet man.What’s so funny?”

How sweet!!!Loved it....Definately a must read for The LOTU fans but others also.Wicked Nights is the first installment in Gena Showalter's new series,Angels Of The Dark. It's an incredible book which introduces us to the world of the angel warriors who although have suffered a lot, have survived.

Wicked Nights tells the story of Zacharel,an angel warrior, who we have previously met in Lords Of The Underworld series. As a leader of the warriors Zacharel must prevent them from killing any human even if the human is possessed.Annabelle Miller is a tortured soul who saw a demon murder her parents and was later accused for the crime.Having spent four years in an institution for the criminally insane Annabelle finally meets Zacharel. They were both doomed by their first encounter.

This book will keep you on edge as it contains many twists and turns,romance,humor {

“Can I just say what a bad boy you are right now?”

“Of course you can. You just did.”

“No, I mean – Oh, never mind, you spoiled it. "}

painful memories(for both of them) and a lot scenes with an obstinated, possessive, protective, adorable, jealous angel with "cute wings"(Annabelle's words).Despite of everything that each of them had to endure, together they find peace.

In Wicked Nights,we also see many Lords and their "wives" such as Lucien and Anya,Strider and Kaia,Amun and Haidee, sweet, gorgeous beyond imagination Paris without Sienna (A shame but I loved the scene where Zacharel introduces Annabelle to Paris...hahaha),an "angelic" couple Lucander and Bianka and finally we meet many new characters who I hope will get their story soon. Some of them are Thane, Bjorn, Xerxes and Koldo(poor Koldo has no wings but can teleport).

I have to admit that Wicked Nights reminded me a little of The Darkest Secret,Amun and Haidee's story, but I loved it nonetheless!!!It had a nice flow and sequence and I really liked the way things progressed.

I totally recommend this book and I'm looking forward to reading the following one.

Don’t miss the second book in Angels Of The Dark series Koldo’s story, due to hit stores early-mid 2013,BEAUTY AWAKENED coming soon from Gena Showalter.

Long ago, twelve immortals warriors – each more dangerously seductive than the last -- stole and opened Pandora’s box, unleashing the evil from within. Now they carry that evil within themselves. Violence, Pain, Death, Disease, Disaster, Misery, Doubt, Promiscuity, Defeat, Lies, Secrets, and Wrath. When a powerful enemy returns, they will travel the world in search of a sacred relic of the gods – one that threatens to destroy them all.(Goodreads)

The Darkest Fire (Lords of the Underworld 0.5)

By Gena Showalter

My Rating:5 Stars

Blurb:

He is the guardian of hell, more monster than man. She is the goddess of oppression, more angel than woman. Together they will enter the flames to battle a dangerous horde of demon lords -- and discover a passion unlike any other....

My Opinion:
A nice beggining to a wonderful series. Not much to say,I liked it and I'm impressed by their selfless actions.

The Darkest Night (Lords of the Underworld #1)
By Gena Showalter

My Rating: 5 Stars

Blurb:
His powers -- Inhuman...
His passion -- Beyond immortal . . .
All her life, Ashlyn Darrow has been tormented by voices from the past. To end the nightmare, she has come to Budapest seeking help from men rumored to have supernatural abilities, not knowing she'll be swept into the arms of Maddox, their most dangerous member -- a man trapp ed in a hell of his own.

Neither can resist the instant hunger than calms their torments . . . and ignites an irresistible passion. But every heated touch and burning kiss will edge them closer to destruction -- and a soul-shattering test of love . . .
My Opinion:

The Darkest Night is a compelling book urging you to read more and more until you notice that you have finished it and say"What?I want more..."Yeah I know the feeling.
The Darkest Night is the first book in the Lords Of The Underworld series.Twelve warriors punished to live in earth after a tragic incident.
We first meet the Keeper of Violence,Maddox. As the keeper of Violence Maddox is fierce, strong(like all the Lords are),has no patience and lives for war. However,Maddox has been curced and has to die every night. Thus he almost never leaves the house(half of the lords live in a fortress in Budapest).Ashlyn Darrow is a human with an ability to hear every convesation that has been taken place at the location she stands. Both Maddox and Ashlyn are tormented by their abilities and their gruesome past.
The Lords are attacted by the Hunters,a group that has been gathered to fight the lords, when Aslhlyn shows up.Maddox speculates that Ashlyn may be one of them so he takes her with him back to their house. But his time is running out as midnight approaches and so does death.Soon problems will arise and the war between the Lords and the Hunters will intensify.
An incredible,worth-reading book that will capture your attention from the first till the last page. The chemistry between the two main characters is very intence and as many can say Maddox and Ashlyn fell in love from the first sight.
I absolutely recommend this to everyone and if you are not interested in reading the whole series you can read the book you choose individually. It's your choice.Although,in my opinion you should probably read the books in a chronologically order.
Prequel to this book is The Darkest Fire(I totally recommend it)and sequel to this book is The Darkest Kiss(also recommended).

The Darkest Kiss (Lords of the Underworld #2)

My Rating: 5 Stars

Blurb:
She has tempted many men...but never found her equal. Until now.
Though she has lived for centuries, Anya, goddess of anarchy, has never known pleasure. Until Lucien, the incarnation of death--a warrior eternally doomed to take souls to the hereafter. He draws her like no other. And Anya will risk anything to have him.

But when the merciless Lord of the Underworld is ordered by the gods to claim Anya herself, their uncontrollable attraction becomes an anguished pursuit. Now they must defeat the unconquerable forces that control them, before their thirst for one another demands a sacrifice of love beyond imagining..

My Opinion:
The The Darkest Kiss is sequel to The Darkest Night and prequel to The Darkest Pleasure.
I had so much fun with this book!!!
Ever since I read The Darkest Night I've been dying to learn more about Anya and Lucien.
Lucien, death himself,is really serious,he's no fun.Anya though is extremly the opposite.I liked them as a couple and I also liked the way they communicated. They understood each other and they were both intence.
They meet in a club and when Anya sees him,she is immediatly attracted to him.But Lucien knows that she has to be playing with him as he isn't attractive(his words not mine). As death,he was never able to have a relationship because he knew that the person would finally die and didn't want to live knowing that.Anya(minor Godess of Anarchy) on the other hand was always free to do as she liked.Until she was put in "jail"(for immortals) for killing a guard.Being the godess of Anarcy she despised being confined and so her father gave her a Key.Now chronus despearatly wants this key in order for his plans to work. So,he commands Lucien to either take it or steal it from her and failure means the suffering of his friends. But Anya being Anya refuses to give up the key and his only choice now is to kill her.Or not???
I looooooved this book!!!!!Anya and Lucien are my favourite couple of the series and they have everything a couple needs. They have chemistry(more than that actually),they understand each other, they are funny(especially Anya),they are never bored(how can they be when they rock) and so on.Like I said I love them.So far,I believe that this series is a very worth reading one and a must have for everyone's shelves.

The Darkest Pleasure (Lords of the Underworld #3)
By Gena Showalter

My Rating: 5 Stars

Blurb:
Reyes is a man possessed. Bound by the demon of pain, he is forbidden to know pleasure. Yet he craves a mortal woman, Danika Ford, more than breath and will do anything to claim her--even defy the gods.

Danika is on the run. For months she's eluded the Lords of the Underworld, immortal warriors who won't rest until she and her family have been destroyed. But her dreams are haunted by Reyes, the warrior whose searing touch she can't forget. Yet a future together could mean death to all they both hold dear....

My Opinion:
The third book in LOTU seris tells the story of Reyes the Keeper of Pain.We met both Reyes and Danika in the previous book The Darkest Kiss where Danika's family were abducted by the lords. After escaping Danika run away and Reyes followed her.And guess what!!!!He caught her....Both Danika and Reyes have suffered enough and it's time for a break. After months of chasing her,he finally caught her and his planning to keep her.But this time Danika knows everything.
There isn't much to say about Reyes story other than it is unique. It has everything a well written story needs.Love, pain(lots of it),adventure, fiction, death and even a good foreteller.Who could resist it???This story shows us how love can change a person either good or bad(but it sure changes us).
Nevertheless,I belive that the blurb says it all and I don't want to reveal any spoilers. It's a must read book and I highly recommend it.

The Darkest Prison (Lords of the Underworld #3.5)

My Rating:5 Stars

Blurb:
Passion and danger collide in this brand-new, eBook exclusive Lords of the Underworld adventure!

Once, Atlas, the Titan god of Strength, was the Greek goddess Nike's slave. Now, he is her master. And soon these sworn enemies destined to destroy one another will be forced to risk everything for a chance at love...
My Opinion:

The Darkest Prison is a short story that can also be found in Into the Darkanthology. This novella should be read after The Darkest Pleasure and before The Darkest Whisper.I have to admit that this story is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.
We see two new characters which are sworn enemies since our hero is the Titan god of Strength and our heroine is the Greek goddess of Strength.Nike once enslaved Atlas and carved her name on his chest but now the situation has reversed. Now Nike has to obey Atlas but he the only thing he wants from her is a nice sweet revenge. So,he decides that since she carved her name on his chest he would carve his name on her back. And so he did....
This story is a fascinating one and grabs your attention from the first to the last page.I loooooved both characters but I have to say that Atlas was my wek point.I mean who wouldn't want a man like him.Even when it hurt him to do actions that he knew would have severe consequences for him,in the end,he did everything that was possible for Nike's safety.
This book is a proper additionto to the LOTU series and a must read for everyone!!!!!

The Darkest Whisper (Lords of the Underworld #4)

My Rating:5 Stars

Blurb:
He is the keeper of Doubt and his entire world’s about to be rocked.

Bound by the demon of doubt, Sabin unintentionally destroys even the most confident of lovers. So the immortal warrior spends his time on the battlefield instead of the bedroom, victory his only concern…until he meets Gwendolyn the Timid. One taste of the beautiful redhead, and he craves more.

Gwen, an immortal herself, always thought she’d fall for a kind human who wouldn’t rouse her darker side. But when Sabin frees her from prison, battling their enemies for the claim to Pandora’s box turns out to be nothing compared to the battle Sabin and Gwen will wage against love…
My Opinion:
Prequel to The Darkest Pleasure and sequel to The Darkest Passion. The Darkest Whisper tells the story of Sabin, keeper of Doubts. We have also seen Sabin multiple times in the previous books. In his book, the keeper of Doubts reveals his true self and let down his guard for a special not human woman.
Gwen isn't your average human girl. She is much more.Abducted by the hunters Gwen has lost almost a year of her life until the lords set her free.As soon as she is out of the cage she kills the guard by ripping out his throat with her teeth. The Lords saw how fierce and strong she was and took her with them.I particularly loved the conversation she and Sabim had on the plain back to Buda:
“Demon?” Gwen gasped out. Her back jerked ramrod-straight, and her face leeched of
color. “Did you just say demon?”

Oh, uh…did I say that?” Strider once again glanced around the plane helplessly. “No, no.
I think I said seaman.”

Yeah I know it's just incredible.
Anyway,When they get to Buda she and Sabin get to spend more time together and know each other better.Although, they don't have many things in common they both understand the need for love and so their realationship begins...
As always I loved this book and it was everything I expected it to be.Totally recommend it.

Hint:Team Harpies..

Heart of Darkness (Lords of the Underworld #4.5)

By Gena Showalter

My Rating:5 Stars

Blurb:
Three "New York Times"-bestselling masters of paranormal romance deliver three brand-new tales of seduction. Includes the scintillating new Lords of the Underworld story The Darkest Angel by Showalter; Lady of the Nile by Krinard; and Love Me to Death by Shayne. Original.

My Opinion:

In Heat of darkness you will find a short story about the warrior angel Lysander and Gwen's "evil" harpy sister,Bianka.Their story should be read after The Darkest Whisper and before The Darkest Passion.I had so much fun reading their story. They were both passionate and fierce and I really liked their attitude. It's a shame it was so short. There are so many stunning scenes but my favourite one was Lysander and Paris's scene oil wrestling match.(it's so funny and only Bianka gets to see them). In this book we also see Sabin and Gwen's wedding....So much funnnnnnnnnn!!

The Darkest Passion (Lords of the Underworld #5)

My Rating:5 Stars

Blurb:
For weeks, the immortal warrior Aeron has sensed an invisible female presence. An angel--demon-assassin--has been sent to kill him. Or has she? Olivia claims she fell from the heavens, giving up immortality because she couldn't bear to harm him. But trusting--and falling for--Olivia will endanger them all. So how has this "mortal" with the huge blue eyes already unleashed Aeron's darkest passion?
Now, with an enemy hot on his trail and his faithful demon companion determined to remove Olivia from his life, Aeron is trapped between duty and consuming desire. Worse still, a new executioner has been sent to do the job Olivia wouldn't....
My Opinion:
Finally Aeron's story....I wanted so much to read his story in order to find out is so importsnt about him for Paris to give up Sienna.I I did...
Aeron is really unique in his own way. After so much death the only thing that he wants is piece and quiet. But not everyone is of the same opinion.
Olivia, now a fallen angel, fell in order to protect Aeron.Once upon a time she was an angel who brought happiness and laughter to humans. Now she is instructed to either kill Aeron or fall.Guess she chooses the second.Aeron commited a crime by keeping Legion bound to earth(by bounding her to him) and now that Olivia has fallen someone else will take her task.
Aeron and Olivia come together in the most fragile times,as the war between the Lords and the hunters has growth and once again we see Galen "torturing" them. But their path is already set in stone.Olivia didn't only lose her wings in order not to kill Aeron but she also wanted to experience all life's aspects as mortals do.And guess who she wanted to experience them with????Yes you're right, with our gorgeous hero.Although he is reluctant at first,he decides to give in(really??he just can't resist her). With so many danger around them can they really be together???
This book is one of my favourite ones and I enjoyed reading it.It's an excellent addition to the series and a very intriguing one as we get more information about Wrath's Keeper and where the Lords and up after dying...
Totally recommend it..

The Darkest Lie (Lords of the Underworld #6)

My Rating:5 Stars

Blurb:
Forced to his knees in agony whenever he speaks the truth, Gideon can recognize any lie—until he captures Scarlet, a demon-possessed immortal who claims to be his long-lost wife. He doesn’t remember the beautiful female, much less wedding — or bedding — her. But he wants to . . . almost as much as he wants her.

But Scarlet is keeper of Nightmares, too dangerous to roam free, and a future with her could mean ultimate ruin. Especially as Gideon’s enemies draw closer . . . and the truth threatens to destroy all he’s come to love . .
My Opinion:

The sixth book in LOTU series is hilarious beyond anyone's imagination.
Gideon, keeper of the Demon of Lies, can never utter a thruth without enduring agonizing pain.Able to recognise any lie but yet not the one's who ,matters the most.Scarlet, keeper of Nightmares and sexy as hell, feels betrayed by Gideon, her supposed to be husband and father of her child,as when she needed him most he was lost. But Gideon remembers nothing of the things Scarlet tells him,the only thing he knows is that he wants her.Two controversial topics collide together, thruth and lies. But what is thruth and what a lie???Have these things really happen or is one of them misled???
Gideon and Scarlet's story is a love story that will leave you starved for more.Humor and action aren't absent from the book(especially humor) while emotion dominates. This book shouldn't be missed as it also contains important info about the sequel The Darkest Secret.

The Darkest Secret (Lords of the Underworld #7)

My Rating: 5 Stars

Blurb:
Keeper of the demon of Secrets, Amun can manipulate the darkest thoughts of anyone nearby. But when the immortal warrior is chained and isolated to protect those he loves, death is his only hope of release—until he meets Haidee, a fellow prisoner whose beauty and hidden vulnerability draw him into a reckless test of his loyalty.

Haidee is a demon-assassin, raised to despise Amun's kind. Yet how can she hate the man whose touch sets her aflame? But to save him, she must give herself body and soul...and face the wrath of a powerful adversary sworn to destroy her.
My Opinion:

Oh...Finally Amun's story.I can't tell you how much I love it.It's both my favourite book in the series but also Amun's my favourite Lord.
Amun,Keeper of the Demon of Secrets, can see everyone's thought but after his recently trip to hell more than one demon is inside him and guess what...they are driving him crazy.Haidee,a demon-assassin former hunter and the one responsible for Baden's death, former keeper of Wrath is on the run until Strider caughts her and takes her to Buda. There Haidee is put in the room next to Amun's who is lying unconcious in his bed.She mistakes him for her boyfriend Micah and so tries to help him.Well, she doesn't succeeds to escape but she suceeds in drawing the attention of the angel Zacharel who advises the Lords that if they want to save Amun, they should sent him back to hell and this time he will only take Haidee with him.Are they going to survive this trip???
As I said F-A-V-O-U-R-I-T-E book. There isn't much to say other than that just pick it and read it.You won't be disappointed.

The Darkest Surrender (Lords of the Underworld #8)

My Rating: 5 Stars

Blurb:
Possessed by the demon of Defeat, Strider cannot lose a challenge without suffering unimaginable pain. For him, nothing stands in the way of victory. Until Kaia, an enchanting Harpy, tempts him to the razor's edge of surrender.Known among her people as The Disappointment, Kaia must bring home the gold in the Harpy Games or die. Strider is a distraction she can't afford because he has an agenda of his own-steal first prize, an ancient godly artifact, before the winner can be named. But as the competition heats up, only one prize will matter-the love neither had thought possible...
My Opinion:

I love every book of this series so this book proved exactly why I love them so much. The Darkest Surrender is the eighth book of The Lords Of The Underworld and I can say that I am in love with all the lords and wish they were real.I love every series of Gena showalter not only Lords of the Underworld but also Alien Huntress series,Atlantis series,Stand Alone series, all of her anthologies and of course Royal House of Shadows.

So,here are a few lines of the book:

“Is it my birthday already?”

“No,” Juliette said. “It’s mine.”

Speaking of, “When is your birthday?” Strider asked Kaia. His friends would assume he wanted to know now of all times simply to irritate the newcomers, to show them just how little they mattered. And that was partly true. But Strider found he really, really wanted to know anyway. For himself.

Wide silver-gold eyes swung to him. “You don’t know?”

“No.”

Pouting, she twirled a strand of her hair. “How can you not know?”

“Do you know mine?” he asked.

“Of course I do. It’s the day you met me.”

As good a day as any. “No, it’s not, because that was a trick question, baby doll. I don’t actually have a birthday. I was created fully formed, not born.” True story.

“You can be such a moron.” She threw up her arms, exasperated. “Don’t argue with me about this kind of thing. I’ll always be right. Seriously. You were dead until you met me and we both know it. Which means I brought you to life. So, happy belated birthday.”

Amun laughed, which was a shock. The serious warrior never laughed. Anya nodded as if she’d never heard a more solid argument and Gideon snickered behind his hand. Scarlet slapped him in the back of the head.

“You’re right,” Strider said, wanting to laugh himself. “So when’s yours?”

“Shut up,” Juliette suddenly snarled. “I thought we were going to trade insults.”

The Darkest Facts (Lords of the Underworld)

By Gena Showalter

My Rating:5 Stars

Blurb:

I, Cronus, King of the Titans, powerful warrior god, defender of the people, hereby command you to read and enjoy this Lords of the Underwold guide. I am not mentioned nearly enough, but that is neither here nor there. What you will find in this guide includes: notes from those vile fools, the Hunters; interviews with the Lords of the Underworld, as organized by that irreverent whelp William the Ever Randy; a candid discussion about the Lords of the Underworld among their women; answers to questions readers have been dying to know; and an intimate look at my very own sacred scrolls.

As I said, you will read and you will enjoy. That is your mission. Nay, your honor. Do not disappoint me. You will not like the results. Just ask Aeron, keeper of the demon of Wrath. Bad things tend to happen.

This Lords of the Underworld guide is also available in the anthology Into the Dark.

The End...
I Believe that the next book is going to be about Kane...

Lothaire (Immortals After Dark, #12)

By Kresley Cole

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Well,to begin with, this book was very intriguing and interesting. It gribbed my attention from the first page till the last.Although,it's not the first book we see Lothaire it's the first time to actually see that he does have feelings. So the question is,who are his feelings for?

The book begins with Saroya the Soul Reaper, the supposed to-be Lothaire's mate, being exorcised from her latest possession,Elizabeth Peirce.Ellie's mother bilieves that Soroya is a demon who has possessed her doughter. While being in Ellis's body Soroya kills, cause that's her hobby and pleasure. Not knowing what to do her mother calls the police and so she ends up in jail.Just before her execution,Lothaire breaks in and saves a very unwilling Ellie. After having saved her he takes her to his "mystically protected" New York mansion.Although,at first they are very mad and hate each other they finally grow fond.Lothaire is awed by Elizabeth's courage, wittiness and determination but nonetheless he has a vow to keep to Soroya. So as Lothaire continues to seek Dorada's ring,in order to get rid of Ellie's soul,Ellis decides to win his heart and thus her freedom.

Lothaire feels compelled to fulfill his vows not only to Soroya but also to his mother,Ivana, and feels very pressed about his choices. While spending time with Elizabeth,Leo,as Ellie calls him, feels more sane than he has felt in years, younger and refreshed. To absolute contrast with his feelings towards Elizaneth,Leo can't stand Soraya and finds her utterly disgusting, annoying and intrusive. Finally, after some complications to his Endgame(tasks)La Dorada kills Soroya's soul and Lothaire "borrows" Dorada's ring and turns Elizabeth into a vampire who can walk in the sun, without her permission.Elizabeth is extremely mad at him and complecated with her feelings that does something unforgiveable to him.Lothaire, becomes a king without a queen. Will Lothaire be able to forgive his Elizabeth and gain her heart again?

I really loved Lothaire's book and I look forward to reading the next book of The Immortals After Dark Series. This book was perfect in so many ways, for example its secondary characters Hag or else known as Balery who is Lothaire's oracle,Thad Lothaire's only friend(his so cute and he always refers to Lothaire as Mr.LOthaire)and a character that will suprise you,Nix.Turns out that Nix and Lothaire were good old buddies who stopped being friends because Nix "betrayed" him, something she did not.I hope that the next book will be about Nix.I felt so sad about her in this book, she was so fragile and one step before madness. She definately deserves a man and a happy-ending.
