Welcome to Life of a Blogger, a weekly meme hosted by Jessi @ Novel Heartbeats! This is where you get the chance to know the blogger behind the blog, aka: What we do when we’re not blogging! Every week there will be a new topic; mainly non-bookish, where I’ll share a little bit of life with you guys..

This week's topic is Bad Habits

I have many, so let's get started:

1. Biting my lips. I know it's bad but I can't help it...

2.Biting my nails. Extra bad!!!

3. Playing with my hair all the time.

4. Spending most of my day on Goodreads, twitter, facebook and instagram!

5. Eating too much chocolate. I'm a chocoloate addict, which is bad, because there are days that I eat nothing but chocolate.

6. Reading too much. (duh, there is no such thing as reading too much but according to my parents there is)

7. No drinking enough water. I prefer drinking orange juice to water.

8. Always sleeping too late (I'm trying to fix that though).

9. Only exercising at summer

&

10. Fully ignoring my social life...

So, What are your bad habits???

LIFE OF A BLOGGER #11 Scars

Welcome to Life of a Blogger, a weekly meme hosted by Jessi @ Novel Heartbeats! This is where you get the chance to know the blogger behind the blog, aka: What we do when we’re not blogging! Every week there will be a new topic; mainly non-bookish, where I’ll share a little bit of life with you guys..

This week's topic is Scars

Firstly, I'd like to say that it's been awhile simce I made a Life of a blogger post but if you've read my 2015 resolution, you'll see that I've decided to start posting it again.

This topic is an easy one (and a short one ) for me. I personally don't have a lot of scars (actually almost none). I only have two scars on my body and they happened when I was like 8 or 10. I try to be very careful and so far, so good! Without further ado...

1) I have a reasonably small scar under my chin. When I was 8 (I think) I fell and had to have stitches, which actually left a scar. It's not a big scar but still..

2) On my left shin, I have a little scar, again from falling. It happened when I was 10, I was playing with my cousins, we were running and like all kids, I fell. It happens!

and

3) When I was younger, I don't remember excactly in which grade, I had to have a vaccine, which to my surprise left a little round (like a dot) scar high on my left arm.

That's it. I guess all people have scars. Some have big ones and others smaller ones. Personally, I don't know a person who doesn't have scars. Both my parents have and so does my sister!

Do you have scars? If yes, how did you get them???

This week's topic is Origin of your name

So, my name is Sofia (in case you didn't know)

What Google says:
Means "wisdom" in Greek. This was the name of an early, probably mythical, saint who died of grief after her three daughters were martyred.

Also:
People with this name have a deep inner need for quiet, and a desire to understand and analyze the world they live in, and to learn the deeper truths.
People with this name are excited by change, adventure, and excitement. They are dynamic, visionary and versatile, able to make constructive use of freedom. They fight being restricted by rules and conventions. They tend to be optomistic, energetic, intelligent, and to make friends easily. They may be changeable, restless, untidy, and rebellious.

This week's topic is Most prized possession

This is another difficult topic for me! Well, as shocking as it may sound, I don't have a prized possession. Ok, that's not true! I have prized possesssions but I don't know what to pick...

I love my books (duh) but can they really qualify as prized possessions? If yes, then you already know my most prized possession. Aside from my books though, one of my most prized possessions is my ipad. I love my Ipad although I don't often use it (as much as I would like to).

What I also consider one of my most prized possessions are some pieces of paper where my sister usually writes down encouraging phrases or just quotes!

That's it for me! What about you???

What's your most prized possession???

Review: If Forever Comes (Take This Regret #2) By A.L. Jackson

If Forever Comes (Take This Regret #2)

By A.L. Jackson

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fav Quote:

"She’d stolen something from me that I’d never gotten back, something she kept hidden deep beneath the surface in places I doubted either of us could see, in places neither of us could define."

Wow, Wow, Wow, Really Wow!!!

Christian and Elizabeth may have found and accepted each other again but is that enough to built their forever???

This book was beyond AMAZING. Before reading it, I knew that it would be an enjoyable read (how could I not, since I loved Take This Regret ) but nothing could prepare me for THIS.

The book starts so unexpectedly! We see Christian devastated and hopeless trying to drink his problems away. I have to say that at this point I was very confused since Take This Regret had a HEA but as the book progresses we get to see what has occured in the months that elapsed. The author goes back and forth leaving you wondering what has really happened. I think that it was that that kept me awake all night!

If Forever Comes is more intense than Take This Regret. There are so many emotions one can feel while reading a book and I think that while reading this I felt everything! I was so devastated and sorry and hurt and sad for this couple but at the same time I was content, at peace because I knew that together they could overcome everything. Their love made them stronger...

"My life would be lived for her.
And I’d never get enough."

I devoured this book! There are some books bound to keep you awake all night long, this was one of them! I can't really say how much I loved this book. I think that the previous book just prepared as for this and as good as it was, it didn't much to this! Yeah, this book was that brilliant.

"This woman.
My forever."

HIghly recommend it!!!

Note: This book isn't a standalone! Before reading it make sure you have first read Lost to You, Take This Regret

Review: Ruin by Rachel Van Dyken

Ruin

By Rachel Van Dyken

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fav Quote:

“Wherever I am, whatever I'm doing, alive or dead, young or old, my heart will always be with yours. Every beat you feel against your fingertips..." His fingers tapped against my chest, once, twice. "... is me calling out to you. It's you returning the call. It's us talking, communicating, bonding, sharing, Living -- Kiersten, it's us living.”

Kiersten hasn't had an easy life, but neither had Weston. Struggling to make it another day, they both just try to LIVE.That is, until they meet each other.

Running "into" Weston Michals on the day of registration, little does Kiersten know that her life is about to change forever! Kiersten isn't prepared for Wes 's appearance in her life. Weston, on the other hand, is determined to fight for what he's feeling and show her what life is really about. And so he does...

But what Kiersten doesn't know yet, is that their time together is has a limit!!!

“Time was the most precious thing in the world to me, and I’d just given her all of it. Because I was falling for her. Because I cared for her. Because I wanted to give her something to remember me by, even if it would eventually fade like its namesake. Time… what an absolute horror-inducing word”

Ruin is a story about a lost girl and a boy who makes it his goal to bring her back from the dark...

Ruin is the type of book that will ruin you and, at the same time, heal you (if that's possible!).

When I began reading this book, I didn't quite know what to expect. I loved the author's ability to convey emotion to us by the very first page. In the beginning, I loathed every feeling I got as I was reading the book, because I thought I new the end, but fortunately I couldn't be more wrong (Thank God I was!!!).

Luckily, Ruin has dual POVs, Kiersten and Weston's respectively. If it wasn't for this switch, it would be too late before we learned the secret Weston's been hiding. Thanks to the dual POVs, though, we knew from the start that something is wrong. But by the time we find out, it's too late as we're soooooo emotionally connected to him.

I admired and loved Weston, because no matter of what's going on in his life, he was adamant to make it through for all those people who loved him but for the woman he came to love as well.

“I prayed over and over again that God would spare me, not because I cared that much about my own life -- but because I cared about hers.”

As far as the secondary characters are concerned, I think that, to say I loved them, would be an understatement. First and foremost, Kiersten's roommate was a total "psycho" but she was wonderful and of course there was Gabe, her roommate's cousin. I L-O-V-E-D Gabe. He was so protective towards her, he was like a brother to her, he "mothered" her, he looked after her and did everything to protect her!!!

Ruin torn me apart and then made me pick up all my pieces. It's impossible for one to cry soooooo much while reading a book, but in the end it was absofuckinglutely worth it! I hope that there will be a sequel with Gabe's story. I can't wait!!!!

Highly Recommended!!!
Synopsis

I'm not your typical girl. I've been running away from the memories that haunt me for so long that depression has become my only comfort. I was content in the darkness...until Wes Michals offered to be my light.

I didn't know that time wasn't my ally -- that every second that ticked past was one step closer to the end of something that was beginning to mean the end of myself. He tried to warn me. He promised me all he was able to offer--each moment as it came--but it would never be enough.

Sometimes when you think it's the end, it's only the beginning. Wes thought he could save me, but in giving me everything, he ruined me. Because after one kiss, one touch, I couldn't--I wouldn't ever be the same.

And from that moment on, his heartbeat became my own.

My Life Next Door

By Huntley Fitzpatrick

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fav Quote

“You're walking along on this path, dazzled by how perfect it is, how great you feel, and then just a few forks in the road and you are lost in a place so bad you never could have imagined it.”

Samantha has been "spying" the Garretts for many years and although she lives next door, it's not until 10 years pass that she gets to really know them. The Garretts are everything that her family isn't, have everything that her family hasn't. Samantha may come from a "good" family but ever since she saw the Garretts for the first time, she can't but envy them...

“The Garretts were my bedtime story, long before I ever thought I’d be part of the story myself.”

That is, until she finally gets to know Jase Garrett. Jase's family isn't your average one! 8 children and one messy, loud house. Samantha knows that Jase is the exact opposite from her, but all she ever wanted was to be part of that.

So, this summer Samantha's life will be forever changed. She will fall in love, she'll break the roules, she'll learn some lessons but mainly, she'll find out that life can be very hard.

Sometimes telling the truth can be hard, especially if telling the truth means hurting someone you love but not telling the truth, is hurting someone else you love. Is Samantha ready to face the consequences of her truth???

This book is a must- read, must-have!!! I knew I'd fall in love with this book from page one, but what I didn't know was that it would make me laugh and cry and even get jealous!!!! Let me just say that both main characters were very mature 17-year-olds, so there was no drama, no stubborn teenage behavior, no overreacting but instead there were two teenagers who found LOVE to be easy and patient.

I guarantee that if you read this book there no way not to fall in love with this couple, the amazinggggggggg Garrett family and of course George (who I wish was real) and Patsy.
And last but not least, my favourite F-A-V-O-U-R-I-T-E scene (it's a George scene, coincidence, I think not!):

“Is Jase already gonna marry you?”

I start coughing again. “Uh, No. No, George. I’m only seventeen.” As if that’s the only reason we’re not engaged.

“I’m this many.” George holds up four, slightly grubby fingers. “But Jase is seventeen and a half. You could. Then you could live in here with him. And have a big family.”

Jase strides back into the room, of course, midway through this proposition. “George. Beat it. Discovery Channel is on.”

George backs out of the room but not before saying, “His bed’s really comfortable. And he never pees in it.”

                                            Synopsis:

"One thing my mother never knew, and would disapprove of most of all, was that I watched the Garretts. All the time."

The Garretts are everything the Reeds are not. Loud, messy, affectionate. And every day from her rooftop perch, Samantha Reed wishes she was one of them . . . until one summer evening, Jase Garrett climbs up next to her and changes everything.

As the two fall fiercely for each other, stumbling through the awkwardness and awesomeness of first love, Jase's family embraces Samantha - even as she keeps him a secret from her own. Then something unthinkable happens, and the bottom drops out of Samantha's world. She's suddenly faced with an impossible decision. Which perfect family will save her? Or is it time she saved herself?

A transporting debut about family, friendship, first romance, and how to be true to one person you love without betraying another.

Beauty Awakened  (Angels of the Dark #2)
By Gena Showalter

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Axel:“YOU’RE ACTING like a child,”

Koldo:“That’s funny, coming from you,”

Axel:“You threw alcohol at a puny human male.”

Koldo:“He’s lucky to still be alive. I could have thrown daggers.”

Axel:“Wait. Did you think I was complaining? I was actually cheering.”

Wow!Wow!Wow! 4,5 Stars

Another amazing book by Gena Showalter .It's been such a long time since I found out about this book and I finally got to read it...

Koldo has been betrayed by the very people who created him.Firstly, his mother cut his wings(literally) and later his father abused him.Although,I do not condone his mother's actions,I can understand why she acted the way she did.Tragedy stuck Nicola from the moment she was born. From a very early age,she and her twin sister have suffered from heart dysfunction and as if that wasn't enough they lost their parents and little brother in a car accident.

Koldo's on a mission.Until it gets interrupted by a lovely woman.Koldo is not the type of man who lets people get close to him but he makes an exception with Nicola, even though he doesn't know why.Nicola,on the other hand, has been alone so long that she has lost the meaning of life.I really liked, she was strong, courageous, relible and trustworthy. She never, even for one minute, doubted Koldo but instead chose to believe and trust him.

It was so heartbreaking watching Koldo trying so hard to make people love him.I was glad when Nicola made him understand that you couldn't force people to love you, they either did or not.And he surely deserved to be loved. It was so emotional, seeing how shocked he was when Nicola told him that she loved him.The book was just so good.It had a nice flow, balanced portions of action, romance and suspense.

However,I noticed that there were more fight scenes(and I don't mean between the main characters but the secondary ones) and it was quite tiring.I liked the book but I would have loved it if there were more Koldo-Nicola scenes. And I HATED that every time they were together they had to be interrupted by someone.

Overall,it is a worth reading book especially if you are a fan of LOTU.Totally recommended.

Blurb:

His name is Koldo. He is scarred, powerful, his control legendary-and he lives only for vengeance, determined to punish the angel who viciously removed his wings. But if he yields to the forces of hatred, he will be kicked from the heavens, eternally damned.

She is his last hope. Nicola Lane was born with a defective heart, yet this fragile human shows surprising strength as demons stalk her every move, determined to end her. She is the key to Koldo's deliverance...and his downfall. Though he fights duty, destiny and his first addictive taste of desire, his toughest battle will be the one for Nicola's life-even if he has to sacrifice his own...
