ARC Review: When Darkness Ends (Guardians of Eternity #12) by Alexandra Ivy

Title: When Darkness Ends
Author: Alexandra Ivy
Series: Guardians of Eternity #12

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo

Cyn, the vampire clan chief of Ireland, is an unabashed hedonist whose beauty is surpassed only by his insatiable appetite for pleasure. It’s no wonder he’s furious when he’s transported from the magical land of the pureblooded feys to his desolate private lair—only to have his very existence thrown into a chaos that even he cannot charm his way out of…
Most women may be all but powerless against Cyn, but Fallon, a sharp-witted fairy princess, is less than beguiled by the silver-tongued vampire. She’s a serious soul with no time for the sort of games he plays—especially when they learn that someone is trying to close the veil that separates the dimensions. But seduction may prove the most powerful force of all, as attraction ignites between the unlikely pair even as worlds are colliding around them…
“I’ve waited for you for longer than you could ever possibly imagine”
I think I say this for every Alexandra Ivy book but it feels like I’ve waited forever for this book. I know it hasn’t been that long but every time I’m waiting for a Guardians of Eternity book to come out, time doesn’t seem to pass. I believe that the main reason I feel this way is because I know that I’m going to love the characters and the book. I’, also not a very patient person when it comes to book!

Cyn, the vampire clan chief of Ireland and Fallon, Sally’s sister and the Chatri princess are in a lot of trouble. The Oracles are being manipulated by a strange threat and Siljar demands that Fallon and Cyn find and eliminate the threat before it’s too late. Someone pulls the strings, he wants to control the Oracles and make them cast a spell that will eventually result in the death of all demons. Cyn and Fallon will have to figure out who the threat is or else they all will be doomed.

This was… I have no words! It was just fabulous. It captured my attention from the very beginning and in the end it made me feel nostalgic. Cyn and Fallon were the best couple. Even from the previous book there was something between them that it just couldn’t be ignored. Their competitive relationship, their arrogance and stubbornness, their determination and protectiveness were what captivated me.

Cyn was a great leader but when he was around Fallon he forgot everything. The bond between them was a strong one even if they denied its existence. You could tell they were in sync from the very beginning.

I could go on and on about my love for Cyn and Fallon but I really want to talk about the secondary characters. There were plenty characters from the previous books. Almost every character in the series is mentioned but there were only a few who had an important role in the book. Styx, Viper, Dante even Levet were some of the active secondary characters. We also get to meet Fallon’s fiancĂ©, Magnus. I have to admit that I wasn’t such a huge fan of his in the beginning but as you get to know him better, which you will, you will just love him too. I don’t want to say much about his character but he is more arrogant than Cyn and I think that says a lot.

The end made me feel so nostalgic. I can’t believe that this is the end of the series. The end of the book was perfect, I had no problem with the book I just can’t believe that it’s over. The book totally prepares you for the end of the series but still I can’t say that I’m not sad. I’ve been following this series since the first book came out. I always waited for the next book to be released, always loved the stories and every unique character and now I just can’t let that feeling go. To say that it was an incredible journey would be an understatement!

When Darkness Ends will totally satisfy you. The last book in the Guardians of Eternity series is nothing but perfect. Action- packed, full of suspense, romance, a sexy arrogant, bad-ass alpha hero and an equally stubborn heroine. This book is a must read (actually the whole series is a must read).

Just read it! Highly recommended!

Title: Retribution
Author: Katie Reus
Series: None

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo

She sees brief glimpses of the future…
Nika and Alena Brennan will do anything to kill a vicious Russian crime boss and they’re using his only son to get to him. Yet when the time comes to execute their plan, psychic Nika hesitates due to an unexpected entanglement with sexy security expert Declan Gallagher. When her sister is kidnapped and all their carefully laid plans go awry, Nika must depend on Declan and her mortal enemy’s son to get her sister back.
He invades her dreams and teases her with sensual pleasures…
As a dream walker, Declan is capable of seeing anyone’s innermost thoughts as they sleep. With Nika, however, he finds himself playing a deadly, seductive game. He knows she’s not who she says she is and he’s determined to find out the real reason she’s in Miami before she gets herself or someone else killed.
Time is running out…
Nika’s window of opportunity is closing to save her sister and find a way to protect their secrets without landing them both in jail. With innocent lives at stake, Nika must decide if the retribution she’s waited a lifetime for is worth losing the man who has won her heart.
Nika and Alena Brennan will have their revenge even though it comes at a high price.

After witnessing their parents’ brutal murder, Alena has vowed to avenge them. With the help of her psychic sister, Nika, they have managed to eliminate three of their targets but there’s still one more to go, the man who ordered the hit against their parents. But to get close to him they will have to get close to his son, Andre. Nika has a bad feeling about their latest plan. It sounds easy but can they really pull through with something like that?

Former CIA agent and owner of a private security firm, Declan is tasked with protecting Andre and eliminate any threat against him. But Declan has a secret, he is a dream walker. So when Andre shows up with the two beautiful sisters thought to have killed three powerful men, Declan knows that he will have to look beneath the surface, especially since he can’t stay away from Nika.

Nika thought that Declan was just a projection of her imagination, the man who invades her dreams. She never would have imagined that he was real. Until they meet in Miami. The chemistry between them is off the charts but Nika can’t allow him to mess up with their plans. At the same time though she can’t but wonder if what they are about to do will cost them their lives.

Retribution was an amazing book. It was an action packed book with romance, mystery, suspense, twists and a touch of paranormal. Nika and Declan were such an awesome couple. They were strong, protective, a bit hesitant at first but as soon as they find out more about each other, fireworks.

There is so much action and suspense to the story. Nika and Alena are a step away from their last target, they know they mustn’t hesitate but they never thought they would face such distractions. I really can’t be satisfied with the end though. Nika and Declan’s story was a beautiful one but what about Alena and Andre? Andre knows that Alena used him to get to his father but for him their brief relationship was real. I really hope their get their own story and find their HEA.

Retribution is a must read. How can you not read a book with such a cover?

Highly recommended!

Review: BROKEN (LOST #1) BY CYNTHIA EDEN

Title: Broken
Auhor: Cynthia Eden
Series: Lost #1

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo

Ex-SEAL and LOST founder Gabe Spencer is accustomed to the unusual in his job. But when knockout Eve Gray steps into his office, he's rattled. For the mysterious woman is a dead ringer for the heiress thought to be the latest prey of the serial killer who goes by the name Lady Killer.
When Eve awoke in an Atlanta hospital, her past was a blank slate. Then she recognized her own face in the newspaper and vowed to learn the truth. Determined to confront the nightmares hidden in her mind, she never expects to find a partner in Gabe.
As Gabe and Eve work together, their explosive attraction becomes irresistible. Gabe knows that his desire for Eve is growing too strong, bordering on a dangerous obsession, but nothing pulls him away from her. And when another Eve lookalike disappears, Gabe vows to protect Eve at all costs. While Eve may have forgotten the killer in her past, it's clear he hasn't forgotten her
A new suspenseful romantic series filled with serial killers and a team who will do anything to find the lost ones.

Broken tells the story of Eve, our victim and Gabe, an ex-SEAL with a haunting past. Gabe is the owner of an organization called Lost. He and his team are experts in finding people who have been missing and Eve Gray may not be missing but she’s definitely lost. After waking up in the hospital with multiple injuries, Eve cannot remember anything even her real name.

When she comes across a photo of a woman that looks exactly like her in the newspaper, she knows that if there is someone who can help her, it’s Gabe. You see the woman in the newspaper is considered dead. She’s one of the Lady Killer’s victims. Only Eve isn’t dead, she’s alive. Gabe is shocked to realize that Eve might actually be who she claims to be. He’s suspicious but at the same time he can’t deny what he feels.

When the murders begin once again and more women are lost, Gabe knows that if Eve doesn’t remember her past, she will be next.

I definitely found what I was looking for. When I first read the blurb I was beyond excited and I didn’t lose my excitement while reading the book. It had a very intriguing and suspenseful plot, hot sexy romance, many awesome characters, a lot of twists and so much more. You will suspect everyone, I definitely did. No one is really innocent. Even Gabe’s team share dark pasts.

I loved so much Dean, Wade, Sarah and Victoria. I’m sure that they will all be getting their stories and I really can’t wait. They were such an incredible team. We get a bit of everyone’s background. They may all be quite different but what the team has in common is the demons of their pasts.

What I also loved was the fact that the main plot, Eve’s past wasn’t “overshadowed” by the romance. In fact, I think this was the first book I read by Eden in which I didn’t care as much about the romance as I did with the killer’s identity. I read as fast as I could just to find out who the killer was and once it was revealed my heart was racing so fast for Eve and Gabe.

Eve and Gabe’s story was an incredible beginning to the Lost series. The only reason I’m not giving the book 5 stars is because a) Even and Gabe’s relationship developed too early and progressed too fast and b) how can someone who has suffered as much as Eve has be so blunt about her emotions?! Apart from these little problems, I had no other major issues with the book.

Another stunning read by Eden! I’m a huge fan but I’m always impressed by her books. You can’t go wrong with this author.

Highly recommended!

Title: The Closer You Come
Author: Gena Showalter
Series: The Original Heartbreakers #1

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo

Just released from prison, Jase Hollister has a dark and twisted past. And now, he has only one goal: stay out of trouble. Strawberry Valley, Oklahoma, sounds like the perfect place for him and his two brothers-by-circumstance to settle down and live a nice, simple life. But model citizen isn’t exactly this rugged bachelor’s default setting—especially when it comes to a certain hot-blooded Southern beauty…
Brook Lynn Dillon has always been responsible. Not that it’s done her much good. The down-on-her-luck waitress is broke, single and fun-deprived. Until Jase comes along. He is dangerous, stunningly protective, breathtakingly sexy and as tempting as sin, and the passion sizzling between them is undeniable. But can it melt her resistance? After all, the right kind of trouble might be just what they both need.
Gena is one of my top-five authors and to me her books are a must- read. I love everything she writes and read everything without even checking the blurb. This book was no exception.

A brand new contemporary series focusing around three friends who have just found their heaven at Strawberry Valley, Oklahoma.

When Jase moved at Strawberry Valley with his two best friends, Beck and West, all he had in mind was to find some piece and quite. After spending the last nine years in prison, Jase just wants to be normal again but when he meets Brook Lynn Dillion he knows that normal isn’t for him.

Brook Lynn’s life has never been easy. She wishes life could give her a break but she’s not so lucky. Between feeling like a freak because of her ear condition and following around her irresponsible older sister, Jessie Kay, Brook Lynn’s hands are full. When her sister ruins their only chance at survival, she can’t but accept Jase’s professional proposal as his personal assistant.

They never knew life could be so sweet.

Spending everyday together Jase and Brook Lynn cannot deny their growing feelings but Jase holds back. He has been burned before due to the actions of his past but this time he’s reluctant to lose the person his heart desires.

Can their relationship survive through the lies and secrets?

What I loved: the characters, the romance, the flow. I loved Jase. He won me over almost from the beginning. I’ll admit that the circumstances under which he met with Brook Lynn weren’t ideal but in the long run he made it up, at least for me. What he did may have been wrong but were I him, I’d have done the same (I think).

Brook Lynn was awesome! She totally rocked. She was supposed to rely on her sister but instead she relied on herself and in the meanwhile she took care of her sister. I also loved Beck and West, who will undoubtedly get their own stories. I do have to admit that despite her irresponsible behavior, Jessie Kay did reform in the end and I loved her competitive relationship with West. Something’s happening between them and I’m wondering whether it’s going to last or not. I hope it does.

What I didn’t love: unfortunately, the plot. I loved were things were heading in the beginning, I even liked Jase’s insecurities about their relationship but what I hated was the Daphne factor. Way to ruin a romance! I didn’t like her involvement at all let alone her “surprise”. This is my personal opinion though. If you read the book, you may enjoy it but I just couldn’t.

All in all, it was an enjoyable read. I didn’t love it as much as I did her other works but I still highly recommend it!

Review: Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress #1) by Jeaniene Frost

Title: Halfway to the Grave
Author: Jeaniene Frost
Series: Night Huntress #1

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo

Flirting with the Grave...
Half-vampire Catherine Crawfield is going after the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these deadbeats is her father - the one responsible for ruining her mother's life. Then she's captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, and is forced into an unholy partnership.
In exchange for finding her father, Cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as his fangs. She's amazed she doesn't end up as his dinner - are there actually good vampires? Pretty soon Bones will have her convinced that being half-dead doesn't have to be all bad. But before she can enjoy her newfound status as kick-ass demon hunter, Cat and Bones are pursued by a group of killers. Now Cat will have to choose a side . . . and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat.
“So do you remember this place?"

"Hard to forget. This is where you tried to kill me. You were so nervous, you kept blushing. Never had someone try to stake me who blushed so much.”
This is the first book I read by Jeaniene Frost and I was immensely surprised to find out that I loved it!

Halfway to the grave has been sitting for a very long time to my to-read shelf on Goodreads. The main reason for not reading it was because I thought that it was like many other paranormal vamp books. Thankfully, I was wrong.

Cat Crawfield, a 22 year old vampire hunter, isn’t your average human. That’s partly because she isn’t quite a human and partly because she’s a self- trained hunter. The truth is that Cat is a Halfling, half vampire and half human. Cat has always been different, she just didn’t know it. When she was 16, her mother revealed the truth to her: 16 years ago, Cat’s mother was brutally attacked by a vamp and later discovered that she was pregnant. After finally learning the truth, Cat decides to avenge her mother by going after her kind. Her “tasks” are always successful, until she’s caught by a vampire bounty hunter.

Enter Bones, a vampire who hunts his own kind1 Bones is known by many manes but is feared by one. When he encounters Cat, Bones first thought is to kill her, thinking that she’s just a human used by another vamp as a lure to kill vamps. So, when Cat admits that she’s a halfling, Bones is reluctant to believe her. But what he can’t ignore is Cat’s unique set of abilities.

Above everything, Cat wants to capture and kill he father. When Bones proposes a deal to her: help him capture his prey and in return he will deliver her father to her, Cat can’t but agree.

I can’t believe how wrong I was about this book! I thought it was another vampire hunter meets vampire hunter and fireworks explode but I was wrong (and I’m glad). Cat and Bones were two extraordinary characters, who finally met their match. I loved their journey. Everything about this book was just so original. The way the main characters met, the deal they struck, Cat’s training (I call that Bones’s playtime because those scenes were hilarious and very seductive) and also I loved how Cat changed her way of thinking about her kind (she thought every vamp was evil but she found out that Bones was no normal vamp).

Cat and Bones were a powerful couple, off the charts sexy, madly in love and beyond funny. I loved how Bones went from professional to lover in minutes and the way he made Cat feel. She no longer felt like an outsider who doesn’t belong but instead she begun embracing her vamp side.

Full of non-stop action, romance, humor and two great main characters, Halfway to the grace will captivate you.

Totally recommended!

Review: Want Me (Dark Obsession #2) by Cynthia Eden

Title: Want Me
Author: Cynthia Eden
Series: Dark Obsession #2

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N

She doesn’t play it safe…
Sophie Sarantos has a weakness for dangerous men. She doesn’t like safe lovers—she likes men with a wild, rough edge. But Sophie may have attracted a lover who is too dangerous, even for her. Someone is stalking Sophie, slipping into her home, watching her day and night. The stranger seems to know all of Sophie’s darkest secrets, secrets that should never be revealed.
Out of options, Sophie turns to ex-solider Lex Jensen for protection. Lex is part owner of VJS Protection, Inc., and Sophie hires him as her bodyguard. She thinks Lex is one of the “good guys” out there, but she couldn’t be more wrong.

He doesn’t play at all…
Lex has his own secrets. Dark, deadly secrets. And as his feelings for Sophie grow, Lex knows that he is going to have to stop pretending to be a gentleman and, instead, he’ll have to show Sophie who he really is. A man trained to kill. A man too used to evil. A man who will take any risk…as long as he can claim Sophie.
Because there is one thing that Lex wants in this world…one person he desires above all others…Sophie. And no one will hurt her, not on his watch.
By now most of you must be aware of my Cynthia Eden addiction. I’m in love with her books, her writing, her main characters and her style!

Want me is the second book in Cynthia’s new series, dark Obsession. In case you haven’t read the first book, which I definitely recommend reading, then you should you know that Lex works as a bodyguard in V.J.S. protection (he’s actually the J in V.J.S.) and he’s really damn good at his job. A few weeks ago, he saved Sophie Sarantos from her gas filled house and so it’s only natural to wonder what the hell she’s doing in his office!

Sophie knows that in her profession she can never be safe, especially considering that she defends the bad guys. You see Sophie is a lawyer, a very good one, but the better you are the more enemies you have. Someone is after her and he won’t stop until he has her…

I think this one was even better than the first book. Lex and Sophie were so different and I believe that it was their differences that created the sizzling chemistry between them. Lex was the protector but Sophie was the survivor. Both of them were! They both had such rough pasts that left little to be desired. They both however, managed to leave their pasts behind and move one. But did they really?

Truth is they didn’t. Sophie is stuck in the past while Lex carries the scars from his past. When they find each other, their reactions are so different. Lex wants to have her but Sophie is afraid of her own feelings and chooses to stay away. In the end, they both give in.

I love Cynthia. This book is one of the reasons that make me love her writing. I love romances but Cynthia is not only about romance. She’s about suspense, major twists and turns, unexpected ends and villains and of course her sex scenes.

I can’t believe how much I enjoyed this one. Things between Lex and Sophie were building up from the previous book and in this book they just exploded.

A great addition to the series!

Definitely recommended!

Review: Wicked (A Wicked Saga #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Title: Wicked
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Series: A Wicked Saga #1

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo
Things are about to get Wicked in New Orleans.
Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan isn’t your average college student. She, and others like her, know humans aren’t the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun… and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. After all, four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she’d sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart.
Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He’s six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. With forest-green eyes and a smile that’s surely left a stream of broken hearts in its wake, he has an uncanny, almost unnatural ability to make her yearn for everything he has to offer. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers stalking the streets. Losing the boy she loved once before had nearly destroyed her, but the sparking tension that grows between them becomes impossible for Ivy to deny. Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her.
But as Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes she’s not the only one carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. There’s something he’s not telling her, and one thing is for certain. She’s no longer sure what is more dangerous to her—the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.
Another 5 stars for J. Armentrout.

I was surprised when I first found out that J.A. was writing a whole new series. I loved the title, I loved the cover, I loved the blurb and I was blown away by the book.

Ivy and Ren were two incredible and strong main characters. Although, the book is about Ivy, Ren gets his own story as well. They are both well developed and realistic characters with rough pasts.

Ivy has lost everyone that ever mattered in her life. First her parents, then her adoptive parents and her first love. It’s for that reason that Ivy prefers her own company than that of her few friends. When a new member of the order moves into town, Ivy does her best to keep a distance. Little does she know that Ren can be very persistent!

I loved everything about this book. Ren, Ivy, Tink! Everyone! I call dibs on Tink though! I have to admit that I was surprised by him because I expected him to be a female. I loved him even better as a male. He was in a way what Bambi is for the Dark Element series (and let me tell you, I love that series). His relationship with Ivy, was a complicated one but they both cared for each other. Ren, knew what he wanted from the first time he met Ivy, he was infatuated with her. Ren thought he knew everything there was to know about Ivy’s life but in the end he was wrong about her.

Ren and Ivy’s relationship was sizzling hot, their chemistry, exploding and there were even some double hot sexy scenes.

I don’t usually read fae books but I knew I had to read this one. I’m head over heels in love with Armentrout’s books and this one was no exception. I couldn’t read the book fast enough. A page turner full of action, suspense, romance, humor and an unexpected end. Ren, Ivy and Tink will surely win you over and in the end break your heart.

I can’t wait to read Torn, Wicked’s sequel!!! I’m very curious to find out what Ivy’s future holds, love or death.

Highly recommended!

Review: Easy (Contours of the Heart #1) by Tammara Webber

Title: Easy
Author: Tammara Webber
Series: Contours of the Heart #1

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo

When Jacqueline follows her longtime boyfriend to the college of his choice, the last thing she expects is a breakup two months into sophomore year. After two weeks in shock, she wakes up to her new reality: she's single, attending a state university instead of a music conservatory, ignored by her former circle of friends, and failing a class for the first time in her life.
Leaving a party alone, Jacqueline is assaulted by her ex's frat brother. Rescued by a stranger who seems to be in the right place at the right time, she wants nothing more than to forget the attack and that night - but her savior, Lucas, sits on the back row of her econ class, sketching in a notebook and staring at her. Her friends nominate him to be the perfect rebound.
When her attacker turns stalker, Jacqueline has a choice: crumple in defeat or learn to fight back. Lucas remains protective, but he's hiding secrets of his own. Suddenly appearances are everything, and knowing who to trust is anything but easy.
“Love is not the absence of logic
but logic examined and recalculated
heated and curved to fit
inside the contours of the heart”
Easy was the first book I read by this author. It was a pleasant surprise to read such a smart story.

I must admit that when I started reading the book, I never expected the author to give us such a thorough background for our hero. And he was a real hero for me.

This book was nothing “easy” to read. It was emotionally charged, very realistically written and dealt with a difficult subject.

Lucas was our tortured hero but he was also obsessed with Jacqueline, our heroine. Jacquline is studying economics, a decision she made based on he ex-boyfriend’s choice. After beeen attacted and rescued by Lucas, she knows she must get to know him better. After all he’s nothing like a hero should be. Tattooed, pierced and a motorcycle man, Lucas will surely make you doubt your hero view.

Jacquiline, knows she should stay away from him but she can’t resist. Her attraction to Lucas is unavoidable but at the same time dangerous for them both.

The author did a good job in portraying life on campus. Life on campus can be wild, partying, flirting and staying up all night but it can also hide many dangers.

What I really loved was the major twist the author created. Jacquline’s division between Luas and Landon. A dilemma that actually never existed.

The book follows Jacquline on her journey to college and the unexpected incidents that occur.

The attraction between Lucas and Jacquline was and felt very real. They were both very realistic characters and Lucas, despite all he went through, managed to let everything stay in the past. He was adamant to make his relationship with Jacquline work.

I’m very glad I read Esay.

Totally recommended!

Black and Blue (Otherworld Assassin #2)

By Gena Showalter

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fav Quote:

“Work with Evangeline Black? I’d rather be slit open from navel to nose.”

—CORBIN BLUE

“Good thing I always carry a knife.”

—EVIE BLACK"

Another 5 stars for Gena Showlater.

After being severely injured, the only one Blue can trust is his sworn emeny, Evie Black. Evie has had enough experience to know that apart from being an excellent assassin, Blue is a ladies man. What she doesn't realize though is that being a "he-whore" isn't his choice but a requirement for his job...

Evie and Blue must work together if they want to find out who attacked Evie's father and Blue's partners. Problem is that they would much prefer to kill themselves than work with each other!

This book was beyond my expectations!!!

Evie and Blue had so much chemistry. The sexual tension was oblivious in every page. Each scene was hotter than the previous. Evie and Black were such an amazing couple. They fit perfectly.

“Working with Evie Black combines my two favorite things. Starting my day with her . . . and ending my day with her.”

—CORBIN BLUE

“I guess I’m like fungus. I grow on you.”

—EVIE BLACK

I wish the book was longer though. It seemed to have finished so quickly even though I stayed up all night reading and loving it...

All in all, I highly recommend it and I can't wait to see more of them in the next installment (which I'm dying to read.... Hope it's John's story!!!).

Synopsis

He is every woman’s fantasy…

Corbin Blue is a man of many talents. One of the most powerful otherworlders ever born, he is wealthy, a professional football star, and a legend in the bedroom. But only a select few know he is also a black ops agent…and there is no better killer. When he and his crew are attacked and separated, he’s forced to turn to his boss’s daughter for help—a woman with even more secrets than Blue.

Mine to Keep (Mine #2)

By Cynthia Eden

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fav Quote:

"It's you and me. Us. Forever. No secrets and no lies."
Wow! The sequel to Mine to Take was as incredible as the first one!

Skye and Trace are trying to move on. Ever since Skye's abduction, things haven't been easy for them, but if there's a thing they both know is that together they can get past anything. Skye is ready to bury the past and face the future with Trace at her side, but what she doesn't know is that the past can't always stay buried!

Trace has been hiding things from her. Keeping Skye safe is his top priority! When Skye discovers one of Trace's secrets she can't but feel betrayed. Has Trace made the right decision by hidding the past or will the past cost him their future???

His only weakness is her and his enemies know it.

I really love the way Cynthia writes. She's such a talented author and knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat! There are so many twists to this book that, you may think you know what is going to happen but it happens exactly the opposite. That's one of the things I liked about it.

The other thing, were the secondary characters.Let me just tell you that it was so hard not to suspect everyone! In this book we get to know Reese "better", we see Alex in action and we meet some new characters (some of which I TOTALLY loved). I can't say HOW MUCH I LOVED Claire and Noah. They both had horrible pasts and yet they managed to survive and come to be two strong characters! They were trully amazing and I can't wait to read their story Mine to Hold coming out in October. Here's one of my favouite scenes:

"You're the grief - stricken sister that I'm supposed to be watching? I thought you needed a guard. No one told me you were so....Violent." - Noah

I highly recommend this book!

*Note: This book isn't a stand-alone! Before reading it make sure you read the first book in the series, Mine to Take .

Ruin

By Rachel Van Dyken

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fav Quote:

“Wherever I am, whatever I'm doing, alive or dead, young or old, my heart will always be with yours. Every beat you feel against your fingertips..." His fingers tapped against my chest, once, twice. "... is me calling out to you. It's you returning the call. It's us talking, communicating, bonding, sharing, Living -- Kiersten, it's us living.”

Kiersten hasn't had an easy life, but neither had Weston. Struggling to make it another day, they both just try to LIVE.That is, until they meet each other.

Running "into" Weston Michals on the day of registration, little does Kiersten know that her life is about to change forever! Kiersten isn't prepared for Wes 's appearance in her life. Weston, on the other hand, is determined to fight for what he's feeling and show her what life is really about. And so he does...

But what Kiersten doesn't know yet, is that their time together is has a limit!!!

“Time was the most precious thing in the world to me, and I’d just given her all of it. Because I was falling for her. Because I cared for her. Because I wanted to give her something to remember me by, even if it would eventually fade like its namesake. Time… what an absolute horror-inducing word”

Ruin is a story about a lost girl and a boy who makes it his goal to bring her back from the dark...

Ruin is the type of book that will ruin you and, at the same time, heal you (if that's possible!).

When I began reading this book, I didn't quite know what to expect. I loved the author's ability to convey emotion to us by the very first page. In the beginning, I loathed every feeling I got as I was reading the book, because I thought I new the end, but fortunately I couldn't be more wrong (Thank God I was!!!).

Luckily, Ruin has dual POVs, Kiersten and Weston's respectively. If it wasn't for this switch, it would be too late before we learned the secret Weston's been hiding. Thanks to the dual POVs, though, we knew from the start that something is wrong. But by the time we find out, it's too late as we're soooooo emotionally connected to him.

I admired and loved Weston, because no matter of what's going on in his life, he was adamant to make it through for all those people who loved him but for the woman he came to love as well.

“I prayed over and over again that God would spare me, not because I cared that much about my own life -- but because I cared about hers.”

As far as the secondary characters are concerned, I think that, to say I loved them, would be an understatement. First and foremost, Kiersten's roommate was a total "psycho" but she was wonderful and of course there was Gabe, her roommate's cousin. I L-O-V-E-D Gabe. He was so protective towards her, he was like a brother to her, he "mothered" her, he looked after her and did everything to protect her!!!

Ruin torn me apart and then made me pick up all my pieces. It's impossible for one to cry soooooo much while reading a book, but in the end it was absofuckinglutely worth it! I hope that there will be a sequel with Gabe's story. I can't wait!!!!

Highly Recommended!!!
Synopsis

I'm not your typical girl. I've been running away from the memories that haunt me for so long that depression has become my only comfort. I was content in the darkness...until Wes Michals offered to be my light.

I didn't know that time wasn't my ally -- that every second that ticked past was one step closer to the end of something that was beginning to mean the end of myself. He tried to warn me. He promised me all he was able to offer--each moment as it came--but it would never be enough.

Sometimes when you think it's the end, it's only the beginning. Wes thought he could save me, but in giving me everything, he ruined me. Because after one kiss, one touch, I couldn't--I wouldn't ever be the same.

And from that moment on, his heartbeat became my own.

My Life Next Door

By Huntley Fitzpatrick

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fav Quote

“You're walking along on this path, dazzled by how perfect it is, how great you feel, and then just a few forks in the road and you are lost in a place so bad you never could have imagined it.”

Samantha has been "spying" the Garretts for many years and although she lives next door, it's not until 10 years pass that she gets to really know them. The Garretts are everything that her family isn't, have everything that her family hasn't. Samantha may come from a "good" family but ever since she saw the Garretts for the first time, she can't but envy them...

“The Garretts were my bedtime story, long before I ever thought I’d be part of the story myself.”

That is, until she finally gets to know Jase Garrett. Jase's family isn't your average one! 8 children and one messy, loud house. Samantha knows that Jase is the exact opposite from her, but all she ever wanted was to be part of that.

So, this summer Samantha's life will be forever changed. She will fall in love, she'll break the roules, she'll learn some lessons but mainly, she'll find out that life can be very hard.

Sometimes telling the truth can be hard, especially if telling the truth means hurting someone you love but not telling the truth, is hurting someone else you love. Is Samantha ready to face the consequences of her truth???

This book is a must- read, must-have!!! I knew I'd fall in love with this book from page one, but what I didn't know was that it would make me laugh and cry and even get jealous!!!! Let me just say that both main characters were very mature 17-year-olds, so there was no drama, no stubborn teenage behavior, no overreacting but instead there were two teenagers who found LOVE to be easy and patient.

I guarantee that if you read this book there no way not to fall in love with this couple, the amazinggggggggg Garrett family and of course George (who I wish was real) and Patsy.
And last but not least, my favourite F-A-V-O-U-R-I-T-E scene (it's a George scene, coincidence, I think not!):

“Is Jase already gonna marry you?”

I start coughing again. “Uh, No. No, George. I’m only seventeen.” As if that’s the only reason we’re not engaged.

“I’m this many.” George holds up four, slightly grubby fingers. “But Jase is seventeen and a half. You could. Then you could live in here with him. And have a big family.”

Jase strides back into the room, of course, midway through this proposition. “George. Beat it. Discovery Channel is on.”

George backs out of the room but not before saying, “His bed’s really comfortable. And he never pees in it.”

                                            Synopsis:

"One thing my mother never knew, and would disapprove of most of all, was that I watched the Garretts. All the time."

The Garretts are everything the Reeds are not. Loud, messy, affectionate. And every day from her rooftop perch, Samantha Reed wishes she was one of them . . . until one summer evening, Jase Garrett climbs up next to her and changes everything.

As the two fall fiercely for each other, stumbling through the awkwardness and awesomeness of first love, Jase's family embraces Samantha - even as she keeps him a secret from her own. Then something unthinkable happens, and the bottom drops out of Samantha's world. She's suddenly faced with an impossible decision. Which perfect family will save her? Or is it time she saved herself?

A transporting debut about family, friendship, first romance, and how to be true to one person you love without betraying another.

Twisted Perfection  (Perfection #1)

By Abbi Glines

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“I’ll be whatever she needs me to be. I can’t walk away from her, I tried. I’m hooked.” -Woods

I know that Twisted Perfection is a spin-off series to Fallen Too Far series but I'm not sorry to say that although I haven't read the later, I read the first.

I hate the fact that I loved this book! Why? One word (or is it two?!) cliffhanger....

I really liked Woods. He kept it real and I really liked him being honest. And yes, he was perfect! He was hot, protective and although he was somewhat lost in the beginning (he was his father's puppet) in the end he realized what he wanted and went for it.
Della wants to figure out who she really is. Thus her journey begins .She meets Woods at a gas station and their attraction is instant. They both know they don't have a future so they part ways but little do they know that fate has other plans for them.

I loved this book. I actually love anything written by Abbi Glines and this was no exception.

I highly recommend this book. I can't wait to read Simple perfection....

Synopsis:

Life outside of her house was a new experience for Della Sloane. The dark secrets of her past weren’t something she ever intended to share with anyone. They would never understand. No one would ever get close enough to find out. There was always a chance she’d go crazy sooner than they expected…

Woods Kerrington had never been one to be attracted to fragile females. They seemed like too much work. He wasn’t in it for the work just the pleasure. A night full of naughty fun had been exactly what was on his mind when he’d laid eyes on the hot little number that didn’t know how to pump gas and needed some help.

What he didn’t know was she was as fragile as they came.
The carefree girl who spoke her mind and didn’t care what the world thought of her was more breakable than he could ever imagine…
