For as far back as she can remember, Airiana Ridell has always been aware of her extraordinary gift. She can intuit revealing and illuminating 'patterns' in the air around her-whether in a spray of mist, in billowing clouds, or in the dense swirls of an impenetrable fog. Her abilities led to her placement in a secret government training facility when she was a child, but everything changed after her mother was murdered.
Airiana fled the program, but she couldn't outrun the desperate members of a shadowy cabal who want her, who need her, who will kill to get her. Kidnapped and held aboard a ship bound for dangerous seas, her only chance for rescue is Maxim Prakenskii. He has his reasons for helping her, but he isn't about to reveal them to Airiana. Not yet. Not as the two are drawn together as moth to flame. Not when there are so many secrets yet untold that could shatter the quaint community of Sea Haven and all who reside there...
When Airiana’s mother is brutally murdered, she decides to move to Sea Haven to lay low and find someplace safe to live. Airiana never expected to find a home so fitting and such good friends, her sisters of heart. As her sisters so and Airiana has a gift of her own. Airiana’s abilities lie within the air element. Her sisters know that Airiana’s gift is valuable and so does a man who would give anything to possess her gift.

Airiana never knew her father so when Maxim Prakenskii comes to save her from the man who kidnapped her, Airiana isn’t sure whether to trust him or not. Airiana can’t but notice that a man like Maxim has an agenda of his own. Why else would he save her? Airiana is in serious trouble not because she was kidnapped but mostly because she will have to stay close to Maxim and she’s not sure when the time comes if she will be able to let him go. Little does she realize that Maxim doesn’t plan on leaving her behind. Now that he has had a taste of what life can be like, he won’t let her go.

The first book I read by Christine Feehan was Water bound the first book in the Sea Haven series. When the second book was released, I immediately read it so I have no idea how I missed this one. Recently the fourth book in the series, Earth bound was released and thankfully I had the opportunity to read them both.

Airiana was very talented with her element. She was a kind and compassionate character but she was really brave and at the same time sassy. Maxim was the typical alpha hero. Arrogant, protective and sexy as hell but that’s only a few of his charms. Maxim was much more than that. The Prakenskii brothers are all scarred, both physically and emotionally, so it’s only fair to say that Max was a loner. Being with Airiana made him see all that he was missing.

Air bound was action packed, suspenseful, it had romance, a paranormal aspect due to the sisters’ gifts, many twists and a few surprises. I especially loved seeing Lev and Rikki, Stefan and Judith and a few new characters.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading it!
