Mature Content
By Megan Erickson and Santino Hassell
Cyberlove Series
Book 4

Blurb

My life plan is to be brutally honest all the way to the bank. Don't believe me? I run a popular YouTube channel called TrashyZane, and my claim to fame is oversharing about every aspect of my personal life. Sometimes while tipsy. Not everyone loves my style, but I have a long history of icing out people who can't handle me. I have no time for judgmental foolishness.
Except, apparently, when it comes to Beau Starr. His channel is the polar opposite of mine, and so is he. Wholesome, inspirational, and clean-cut. Everything about him should turn me off, but when we hook up following a confrontation at a convention, my world flips upside down. Not only does Beau Starr turn me on, he uses the exact combination of dirty talk and roughness needed to turn me out.
But we still hate each other. I think.

REVIEW

5 STARS!!!

What would it be like to kiss Zane without the hang-up of sex? Just a press of the lips, a brief taste. Did he kiss slow? Fast?
My God, am I the only one that always feels thirsty right after finishing one of Santino and Megan's books?! I swear, that's the only time this happens to me! I can't help wanting more. Not fair, guys! I was really hoping they'd write Beau and Zane's story and what do you know, they did. And I cannot begin to tell you how much I loved Mature Content. I got all sorts of feelings reading it. I laughed, I got sad, I was inspired, and not to state the obvious, but you can't read a book of theirs and not get turned on. I mean, let's be real here. And, of course, what I always like about Santino and Megan's books, is that they don't hold back. The interaction between the characters is so realistic and raw, I always get chills.

“I'll show you there’s a reason I don’t blast my sex life all over YouTube.”

Now, if you've read the previous books in the series, then you're somewhat familiar with Beau and Zane's heated, contemptuous yet brief encounters. But, I think we all saw it coming from the beginning, right?! I, at least, suspected it. Okay, it was more like I was rooting for them. What better foundation for a story that a hate-love one. And with Beau and Zane we see that and more. We get to see both of them struggle with who they are and who they should be to the world, we see them go through a row of emotions through out the whole book and how they unexpectendly end up playing a big part in each others live's. Also, we get a couple Jesse-Ian scenes which I adored. And a glimpse of other youtubers, one of which I'm hoping will get his own book.

He tasted like alcohol, pop rocks, and bad decisions.

Mature Content is, similarly to the previous books in the series, very eye-opening. The authors try to tell us in their own words that every single one of us, despite our differences and preferences, we all want to feel secure and loved arourd people we care about and to feel free to express ourselves without even a notch of hesitancy regarding how we'll be perceived. And that's what makes me keep coming back for more.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review!!

Excerpt

“Look, if I go clean up are you going to run out the door?”
“Would it bother you if I did?”
Beau frowned. “If I say yes, is it guaranteed you’ll do it just to bother me?” My mouth twitched. He rocked against me. “I’m serious.”
“Fine.” I sighed exaggeratedly, like he was really hassling me. “I’ll stay for a few.”
“Good.” Beau stood up, and I was suddenly eye level with his taut, sculpted stomach. “There’s another bathroom in my bedroom. And…you can grab some shorts from the chest if you don’t want to sit around naked.”
I almost asked him what the hell we were going to be sitting around doing, but kept my mouth shut. He went to the bathroom between the living room and kitchen, and I explored the rest of his apartment while slathered in jizz. It was almost as nice as mine, but nowhere near as artsy. My grandmother had helped me furnish it after shopping at thrift stores and refinishing furniture, but Beau’s apartment was kind of like a showroom. Eerily perfect.
Either way, his bathroom was on point with the lighting and shower, so I jumped in quickly after tying my hair in a knot. I rinsed off, wrapped myself in a super-plush towel, and then snagged a pair of cut off shorts and a T-shirt that had his fucking face on it, which was too funny to not wear.
I waltzed out in my new outfit and found him on the phone with…a menu in his hand. Freezing, I fucked up my entrance and gaped when he waved it in my face.
“Do you like Mediterranean food?”
“Uh. What?”
Beau looked at me like I was an idiot. “Zane. Tell me what you want to eat.”
“Oh. Um. I don’t know. I don’t not like any foods.”
He rolled his eyes and rattled off enough food to feed an entire family. When it was done, and he told them to charge his account, he pointed at the shirt I’d procured.
“Just so you know, I didn’t have that made.”
“Uh-huh. But before I mock you relentlessly, why are you ordering food? Like, just because you’re trying to make up for being a dick doesn’t mean—”
Beau grabbed the front of the shirt and a ripping sound filled the room. He didn’t even pause. Just jerked me against him and kissed me so hard I lost my train of thought. Fuck, I lost my sense of self. Fell headfirst into the intensity of his kiss and then wrapped my arms around his neck because… I really could not get enough.
His soft lips were perfect, his tongue lashing at mine with such finesse my dick started to swell again. Especially when he tangled his hand in my hair and tugged just hard enough to make my knees weaken.
“Fuck me before the food gets here,” I blurted.
Beau pressed our foreheads together, panting against my face. “We just washed up. And I want to talk to you.”
“We can talk later.” Fuck, was I whining? I was whining. “Please, Beau?”
He squeezed his eyes shut, muttered a very clear fuck it, and then backed me into his bedroom. We were on his bed, clothes discarded, so fast my head was spinning with delight. How Beau Starr was the best kisser I’d ever been with was a mystery, but, damn, the guy’s tongue was magic.

Santino Hassell was raised by a conservative family, but he was anything but traditional. He grew up to be a smart-mouthed, school cutting grunge kid, then a transient twenty-something, and eventually transformed into an unlikely romance author.

Santino writes queer romance that is heavily influenced by the gritty, urban landscape of New York City, his belief that human relationships are complex and flawed, and his own life experiences.

THE BLOOD BROTHERS SERIES

DEADLY SILENCE, #1

LETHAL LIES, #2

TWISTED TRUTHS, #3

Review

5 Stars!!!

The second book in the Blood Brothers series is already out!!!

Anya is a professor of criminal psychology but when she finds herself the target of a serial killer, she goes to the only person she trusts to help her, her sister. When her sister, an FBI agent is taken and murdered, Anya blames herself for her death as she I the one who put her in the Copper Killer’s path. But when Anya meets Heath, a private investigator who was supposedly helping her sister with the case, she makes an impulse choice that could ruined them all.

Heath did not expect Anya to provoke the killer and drag him into a fake relationship, but the damage has been done. With their identities exposed, the brothers are now vulnerable. The people after them won’t hesitate to capture or even worse kill them and those they love. The brothers will have to find the killer and elude their enemies in order to survive.

Lethal Lies was an incredible addition to the series. Somewhere between their efforts to find the killer and evade their enemies, Heath and Anya’s relationship develops and what started as a bait to lure the Copper Killer, turns into something real. I loved the way that Zanetti combined the action, suspense and mystery with the romantic aspect of the book. We also get to see the Grey brothers in action *throws confetti* a pretty short scene but a definitely satisfying one. I wish we get to see some more of them before the series ends.

I’m super excited for Denver and Noni’s book, Twisted Truths (out in November), especially after the little hint at the end of this book. I can’t wait for it!!!

***I Do, Babe: A Novella (Hades Hangmen #5.5) is to be read AFTER Damnable Grace (Hades Hangmen #5)***

----EPIC---

I said it before and I'll say it again now. There is no surpassing Tillie Cole's books for me! The writing is well-constructed, the plot cannot be more beautiful and more captivating that it is and OMG the characters are so well-written. Whenever I read one of her books, I feel like the world she creates really exists somewhere else. God, do I wish that were true!!

When I finished I Do, Babe, I had this weird feeling, like that was the end of the Hades Hangmen series. And maybe that was because Styx and Mae's story sort of came to an end! After everything that happened to them, they managed to survive and stay together, which is a huge accomplishment considering their backround! Tillie really did them justice!! Thank God, there are more books coming though, right?

As always, we got to catch a glimpse of our other favorite characters, like Vike, AK, Ky and my personal favorite, Rider!! Ky was a sweetheart and we got to see his soft side. And, of course, Vike. He is the comic relief in every single book in the series. I hope we get his story soon!!

If you're a fan of the Hades Hangmen series, you don't wanna miss out on this novella. Seriously, go get it and read it. You won't regret it!!

5 STARS!!!

---TRAGICALLY BEAUTIFUL---

This book left me filled with all kinds of emotions. I feel sad, inspired, astonished, frustrated, joyful. And the list goes on!! MM romance is one of my two favorite genres. I'm always hesitant to start a new author for me that writes mm romance, because, obviously, I don't know if I'll like it. I, personally, am very specific about what I like in a book and that only intensifies when it comes to my favorite genre. But, after reading Unsteady, which was my first Melissa Collins book, I can only say that I loved it!! It was absolutely right for me. I am very satisfied by both the writing and the story! It touched all the subjects I want to read in an mm romance, such as conflict, hesitation, depression, social oppression and liberation, happiness. In a word, the book was fulfilling!

description

The story is about two guys that used to be best friends in high school and just for a small amount of time, lovers! After having to subject to traditional social and sexual rules, Jude pushes Micah away, which results in Micah leaving and joining the army. Fast forward ten years, Micah has PTSD, he is depressed, hopeless, physically and psychologically damaged, suicidal and seeks salvation. The type of salvation only Jude can give him. Being apart for a decade might seem as a lot of time, but when you have the kind of connection Jude and Micah have, it only feels like a small time lapse and as if nothing has changed. They reconnect and realise that they still have deep feelings for each other. They want to try and figure out what went wrong last time they were together so they can avoid doing the same mistakes.

Unfortunately, Micah's PTSD and secrets are getting in the way of their relationship, which might not be that strong after all. At the end, history repeats itself and leaves Micah and Jude conflicted and remorseful.

The story doesn't end there, don't worry. Micah and Jude find their way to each other again and manage to work things out. It's a really beautiful story and it doesn't disappoint in any aspects. Both characters might be vulnerable and withdrawn at the beginning, but at the end they learn how to trust each other and how to be more open with their feelings.

So, if you're interested in a story that deals with high school best friends turned lovers, I highly recommend Unsteady!!!

5 "Pocahontas & John Smith" STARS!!

The Man In Blue

Claudia Belle never imagined what life would be like with her parents gone. Now she must face that horrible reality.

With her parents, dead and her grandfather a perfect stranger, Claudia has never felt so alone. Her mind-reading abilities have always made her feel like an outcast. And now will those same abilities reveal who she really is?

Following the death of Dr. Edwards, a new principal is sent to take his place, undercover for a secret organization called The Company. The Man in Blue’s true mission is the identification and eradication of alien life forms. The entity he pursues, this time, is as dangerous as they come. He must identify the source of the creature's powers to capture the subject and complete his job.

There is just one problem, his one weakness: women. And Claudia fits the description of his dream girl.

Success or downfall. Which outcome awaits him?

 ---MIMDBLOWN---

"He looked like he was posing for the cover of GQ; even the expression on his face gave that indication."

Before I start getting into detail, let me just say as an  "Alien Invasion" romance book, The Man In Blue is by far the best I've read! I'm not big on paranormal romance, but when I do read such books I'm careful with my choice. And this one did not disappoint. I can tell you right now that I'm absolutely at a loss of words. In a good way, of course. The Man In Blue was suspenseful, edgy and very well-constructed. I admit, at the beginning, I was a bit lost, cause there were too many random facts. There were a lot of sort of cryptic dialogues between the characters! But, as I read further and towards the end mostly, I had no problem with it, because all of the little pieces of information that stood out at the beginning and seemed confusing, sort of binded together into one beautiful and captivating story!

I'll try and explain what I mean in detail without giving away any spoilers! So the story goes a bit like this. There's a girl "Claudia Belle", who makes up the paranormal part of the story, cause let's be honest, there's always one part normal and one part paranormal in pretty much all the stories that are paranormal. I feel like I'm saying paranormal too much. PARANORMAL. I digress. Claudia is a teenaged girl, she's a bit sheltered due to her father being overly protective of her and she has mind-reading and kinetic powers. Unfortunately, she's just learned her parents were in a tragic car accident and she has no other choice than to go live with her estranged grandfather.

Claudia

Enter "Dr. N. Edwards". He's your typical caring, compassionate and charming grandfather, if you exclude the fact that he too has powers. He also has secrets. That's part of book that confused me a little bit, cause I couldn't understand who was in on the secret. But, as I said before, it all gets sorted out in due time. Dr. Edwards is the principal of the High School Claudia is obligated to go to since she's now living with him. Even though he had no contact with his son, Claudia's father, they have one thing in common. Not counting the looks and powers, of course, they both want to protect Claudia from something even more powerful and sinister. So, you've heard of Aliens, right?! Aliens or Oddities want or better yet "need" something from Claudia. She's somehow special to them. And they will do anything to get it.

- "You speak Spanish very well" I simply said, hoping he would stop staring at me like that.
- "Perhaps it's because I love everything that is Spanish" he merely offered, but it was the expression on his face that said far more than his words, and it shocked me.

But, as much as Claudia is being hunted by them, they're just as much being hunted by someone else. Aaaand that's when the guy of the story and the normal part of the book comes in. If you can call HIM normal.
"John Slater" aka "The Man In Blue" aka "John Black" is a guys' guy/Alpha Male/dominant kind of character. He's in his thirties, tough, unrivaled, charming, good-looking, loves women and particularly petite, Spanish Brunettes!! His goal in life is to catch as many alien forms as possible. It is also his job. He's an agent in an organization called "The Company" that deals with those type of things. They go on missions and eliminate the threat. So far, John has managed to complete every mission, except one. Project X!

John

That same alien has now brought him to the very High School Claudia goes. He's ordered to go undercover to that High School in order to find and retrieve the alien "Project X". He's well prepared for the job, as he has always been for every mission he's gone to, but what he's not prepared for at all is the petite, Spanish, brunette girl, who's a student there. Also known as Claudia Belle. He's starstruck by her beauty and her manners towards him, which are not very friendly at first encounter. The attraction is not one-sided, though. She is also charmed by his elegant looks and authority. Something that doesn't escape his skilled and well-trained mind. One other thing that doesn't escape him is the fact that she's quite unique. Meaning he knows about her powers. During their random, short-timed talks they exchange some heated words. They're both strong and clever characters, which shouldn't make them a good match, but the author has managed to work so well around them, that there couldn't be another, better version of their story in my opinion. They are in some ways very compatible and in other ways very strong-willed when they disagree. It's what makes the journey more joyful and less boring!

I am enchanted, for lack of a more fitting word, by the story the author has written. It may start with a lot of unanswered questions and confusion, but what makes a book good is when there's enough mystery and when it keeps the readers on the edge of their seats. You wouldn’t want a book where it'd be easy to predict the ending, would you?!

The Man In Blue is part of a series, so it ends in a cliffhanger. Don't let that stop you, though. The story is beautiful and there are a lot of sweet moments among the characters. It has humor, warmth, edge and tons and tons of mystery!! It's worth reading, so if you're into paranormal romance, I highly recommend it!

I was given a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review!

4 Stars!!

A copy was gifted to me by the author through Amazon in exchange for an honest review!

I don't normally read paranormal books, but I made an exception for Forever And A Night: Dark Experiments. And I'm glad I did, because I really, really loved it.
It's about a vampire male doctor "Christian" and a human IT girl "Tiffany", who have been close friends for about 12 years. When Tiffany starts working for Christian's Clinic, their relationship starts shifting from friendly to romantic. They grow incredibly close and soon realize that they both love each other, even though one of them doesn't want to act on their feelings. But, that’s not the only obstacle. Apparently, someone is poisoning the Clinic's patients, causing them to either miscarry their children or die themselves. Unfortunately, Tiffany is one of the victims. So, in order for Christian to save her he is forced to turn her, something that may or may not sit well with Tiffany. Christian is being pulled by so many directions, he doesn't know which way to turn. He not only has to deal with finding the mystery person that poisons his patients, but also with an angry and scared Tiffany, who swears she's never going to forgive him.

So, in the rest of the story we get to find out who's behind all the poisoning and murders and of course if Christian and Tiffany manage to work through their issues and admit their feelings to one another.

I loved how the author managed to build up the mystery part of the book. I was constantly on edge, trying to read faster so I'll get to the end of it. Although, I did have an idea as to who was behind of it all. I'm not saying the book was predictable, but it certainly had a hint or two. One thing I personally didn't like all that much was the fact that at some points of the book the dialogues were extended a bit too much.

All in all, I enjoyed it thoroughly and I highly recommend it to someone who's interested in a friends-to-lovers, human-turned-vampire, destined-lovers sort of thing.

He wants her under his total control, and Master always gets what he wants.

But when 152 is gifted to the Blood Pit’s fearsome champion death match fighter as a prize, 152 suddenly finds out that the men who appear most brutal, may just own the kindest hearts. And love may be found, even when living in hell.

Freedom, family, love, 152 will have to fight for what she wants and ultimately make an impossible choice.

What can I say about this book?! I guess I can start by saying that it was kinda fitting to read Riot when I read it, because it's the last book in the Scarred Souls series and the last book of 2016 for me. I loved it!! It had everything I expected and more!! And as far as closure goes, this book was perfect!! I'm sad to let this book series go, cause RAZE was one of the first books I read when I first got addicted to reading!! And it sort of made me fall in love with dark romance and Tillie Cole!!

Anyway, as far as dark romances go, Tillie's books are right there at the top for me. I always get emotional when I read some of the scenes in them, which is rare for that to happen to me just by reading a book. Riot was one of the books that got me all teary-eyed and in a do-not-talk-to-me-right-now kind of state!! Lol!! :P

He placed his hand over his heart and said, “You have made me feel, in here. You have made me want things I never dare let myself want. You have made me want to fight for survival, not pride. I no longer want to die on the pit’s sand, like a warrior. I no longer I want to die at all … You make me want to live.”

The writing was good as always, if not perfect!! Tillie was very careful with her choice of words, which were somewhat poetic, something I really like reading in her books!! She has a way of keeping her readers constantly on edge and not lose interest! I, honestly, read Riot really fast compared to my reading habits.

I don't wanna say too much about the plot, cause I always write spoilers I'm not aware of. So, I'll just say that if you've read the previous three books in the series, then you should expect something similar!! Tillie said Riot is one of her darkest books to date and she wasn't exaggerating!! And like I just said, if you've read the previous books in the series and you thought they were dark, imagine how much darker this one is!! :O

Through tragedy, we were both stronger.
And through distance, our love was stronger.
She was mine.
I was hers.
Her, the girl, whose soul matched mine.
And I, the boy, who was made perfectly for her.

In conclusion, I'd like to add that Riot made it to my top 10 for 2016 and that's 10 out of 150 books!! So, there you have it!! If that doesn't say you should definitely read it, then I don't know what does. This should be enough to convince you!! Although, if you've read any of Tillie Cole's books, then I don't think you need any convincing!!

Title: A Mate for Christmas
Author: Katie Reus
Series: Moon Shifter #7

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It will take a miracle to survive the holidays...
After recently losing her parents, packmates and a sister, Noel Cordona isn’t even close to being in the holiday spirit. It seems that everyone around her is moving on and happy, but she can’t seem to get it together. When an unexpected kiss changes everything she thought she knew about her packmate Nathan O’Neill, she feels alive for the first time in a year. She’s too broken for him though. At least that’s what she tries to tell them both.

But Nathan’s been waiting patiently for Noel. He’s not going to lose faith now. With a little holiday magic, he can help her overcome the weight of her grief and show her that opening her heart to him is the best Christmas gift he could ever give her.
Just in time for Christmas!

A mate for Christmas is a sweet novella which tells the story of Noel and Nathan but also visits our favorite couples of the series.

Noel is still trying to get over her sister’s death. Her other sisters have the support of their mates and Noel feels alone and lost. Nathan knows that Noel is struggling to deal with the loss of her parents and sister but he has no idea how to help her. He once tried to stand by her side only to be rejected. Or so he thought!

I loved this novella. We got to see how the pack was preparing to spend their holidays. We got at least one scene with every couple and as always, I especially enjoyed Lucas and Vivian’s scenes! They are just soooo adorable! I’m also glad to see the pack so relaxed, bonded and happy to enjoy such a special time.

A truly awesome Christmas surprise!

Review: Dark Protector (Moon Shifter #6) by Katie Reus

Title: Dark Protector
Author: Katie Reus
Series: Moon Shifter #6

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N
He walked away once; he won't do it again.Wolf shifter Aldric Kazan is no stranger to pain. Since the loss of his mate a century ago, he won't allow himself to fall for someone again—not even the feisty female who stirs things in him that he thought were gone long ago. But as a supernatural investigator, he's forced to team up with the same woman he vowed to stay away from.
She let him in once; she refuses to do it again.Natalia Cordona refuses to back down from any challenge—even if it means joining forces with Aldric, the sexy and brooding man who won't get too close. Locating missing vampires before a volatile war breaks out seems nearly impossible as the duo struggle with their explosive and undeniable attraction. Now it's up to Natalia and Aldric to trust each other to stop an all-out war from breaking out that would destroy the harmony they've all worked so hard for.
Dark Protector tells the story of Aldric, Jayce’s brother and Natalia Kordona.

After violently losing his mate, Aldric has completely secluded himself until he comes across his brother, Jayce, and his new pack mates. Aldric and Natalia met in the previous book and their chemistry was off the records. However, Aldric was still mourning for his mate and ignored what his wolf was trying to tell him. Now, Natalia wants nothing to do with him but a mission will bring them together no matter what they want.

Aldric and Natalia were one stubborn couple. Aldric would rather suffer alone than be hurt again but neither Natalia nor Jayce are willing to let him alone. Natalia knows not to push him but time is against them and they will have to work together or face a war.

I really liked Dark protector! It was not just Aldric and Natalia’s story. We got to see Aldric’s healing journey and his reconciliation with his brother as well, which I really liked.

ARC Review: Consolation Prize by Linda Kage!!

5 "Sweet" Stars!!

Title: Consolation Prize
Author: Linda Kage
Series: (Forbidden Men #9)

     Amazon | Kobo | iBooks | B&N

Don't you just hate it when someone destroys all your carefully made plans?
I mean, I had goals: college to graduate in one semester, a future I was working hard to reach, and an image of myself I wanted the world to see. My life was stacked into these precisely placed blocks. But then Colton Gamble came along and knocked them all askew.
I hated how he messed everything up, how he could hog all my attention whenever he was around, how he made my pulse quicken--but only because he ticked me off...not because I was attracted to him. Oh! And I hated how he knew how attractive he was too, the shallow, full of himself, doesn't take no for an answer, too-flirty, too cocky, extremely irritating jerk.
The boy had all the qualities that turned me off. Or so I thought.

One night he wasn't quite the brainless, over-confident jerk I usually took him for.
One night, he took care of me when I was at my lowest. He opened up to me and made me open up to him.
Now I'm learning maybe he's not what I first thought he was. And maybe I'M not what I first thought I was. Maybe it’s okay to rearrange a couple of my perfectly set blocks. Maybe, just maybe, I’ll stop worrying about what I’m afraid everyone else will think and finally reach for something I really want. It’s possible some of my plans need to be destroyed, and Colton Gamble is exactly the kind of mess I need in my life.
What do you think? Should I give him a try?
Desperately seeking your advice,
Julianna Radcliffe

Let's get one thing clear first!! The Forbidden Men series is my absolute favorite!! No doubt!! That's because each character so far has been so well-thought and carefully-written! Even though the series consists of 9 books now, every single one of them was special! The characters are so different from one another and they've managed to find common ground to form this deep bond that everyone wishes they had!! I honestly don't know where to start!! After all this waiting, I thought I would have been prepared for it, but noooo...!! I always fall into a no-books comma after reading a Linda Kage book!! Always!!

So, yeah, about the actual book now....lol!! Consolation Prize tells the story of a boy and a girl who fall in love.
Wish that was only it! But noooo...!! Being Linda Kage, she had to put not one or two, but multiple obstacles to prevent them from getting to that point. Let’s see, there's the age thing, Julianna is FOUR years older that Colton. He thinks she's a wild, unattainable girl and she thinks he is an immature, annoying little kiddo.. He is the little brother of the guy she thinks she is in love with and she is off limits to him due to his big brother's warning! Oh, and they are of different races. She is a black girl and he is a white boy!! Not that it matters to them. It matters to everyone around them.

“Just for that, I’m going to make you cuddle.”
“Cuddle?” My eyes bulged as he crawled closer.
“Yes, cuddle,” he said. “I like to cuddle.”
My muscles clenched and limbs went tense as he climbed up right into my personal space and wrapped himself around me like a second skin.
“I…I’m not big on cuddling,” I finally admitted, my body board-stiff against him.
“Really?” He sounded surprised by that. “Well, don’t worry, by the time I’m through with you, you’ll love it.

At first they try to deny their feelings and pretend it's - what else?! - lust!! But as the story unravels, they realize they both have developed deep, soul-crushing feelings for each other! Now you might say "been there, done that",  but as I said at the beginning, Linda's characters are always so well-written and special! And Colton and Julianna's interactions were so hilarious and touching! They made this story so distinguished from the others!!

Yet I knew without a shadow of a doubt there was no way that would ever happen, because that lady right here was a ball breaker. You could tell it by the straight-backed, poised way she held herself, as if she might as well be behind a boardroom table, doling out punishments to her inferior insubordinates, and by the way she had no tolerance for stupidity or players. I swear, her stare alone could shrivel a guy’s family jewels to impotent nothingness. I usually had the itching urge to cover my junk whenever I talked to her.

At the end, they both try to overcome any fears and insecurities they have and choose to aim for happiness!!

Ultimately, Consolation Prize was the perfect story to choose to write as a conclusion to the Forbidden Men series!! I know it's not the final book in the series, but it's the last couple of the gang Linda is writing and that might have made me a bit sad!! She has managed to make me both laugh and tear up again and I appreciate and love every writer that can do that to someone with a book!! I highly recommend it! In case it wasn't clear!! :P

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review!!

Review
This was FREAKING fantastic!

I’m a HUGE fan of the Sin Brothers series and even though I loved Total Surrender, the last book in the series, Jory’s book, I’m SUPER excited to say that it’s not over! Blood Brothers, Zanetti’s new series, is a spin off series to the Sin Brothers series and introduces a trio of brothers who are trying to survive while looking for answers.

Ryker and his brothers find the lost. When the law firm that Zara works for hires their services, Zara never expects to develop a relationship for Ryker. Yet, two months later, Ryker and Zara are still trying to understand where they stand when Ryker’s past comes back to haunt them.

Deadly Silence was freaking BRILLIANT!! *throws confetti*

Everything was amazing - the action, the suspense, the R-O-M-A-N-C-E, Ryker’s brothers, the Dean Brothers and some new and old characters! Zanetti is a GENIOUS! The brilliance of the plot will blow you away! There are some twists in the story and some HUGE surprises so be prepared! I’m not going to spoil anything but do you remember Chance, Wade and Kyle (the brothers that Piper and Jory rescue in Total Surrender)?! Well, we are not done with them yet!

The book had a lot going on and I do admit that I was a bit confused at one point but everything makes sense in the end. The blood brothers have their own missions and battles to fight but they are not alone! We get to catch up with the Dean brothers *Squee* and the whole family actually! Of course, despite all the action and missions in the book, Zara and Ryker remain the main focus and let me tell you, Zanetti does not disappoint!

Deadly Silence was perfect! Even though it is not a cliffhanger, the brothers do have unfinished business to take care of and I can’t wait for that! So, who’s next? Will it be Denver (and possible Noni?) or Heath?

Excerpt

Heat from his body washed over her, but she lifted her head to meet his gaze. “We don’t have a relationship.”

He smiled then, and the curve of his lips held more determination than amusement. “I’m not letting you run, and I’m certainly not letting you hide, baby. Although neither of us has been in this for the long haul, I’m staying in Wyoming for the moment. The first thing that’s going to happen is I’m going to figure out who dared put a hand on you and make sure it doesn’t happen again.”

For the first time, she saw a side of him that gave her true pause. In the long haul, he’d be unbearably possessive. Why did that give her an intriguing sense of safety? “Knock it off,” she snapped in his face. “Get out of my business.”

That quickly, she found her back against the door and her front pinned by hard male. His hands planted on either side of her neck, his thumbs at her jaw, forcing her to look at him. “Something you need to understand and pretty damn quick is that your business is my business right now.” His thumb swept up and over the offensive bruise on her face.

“Step back.” Her voice trembled.

He ignored the very calm order. “No. You don’t want to tell me who did this? Fine. I’ll find out on my own, and I’ll have the name by the time I pick you up for supper. What you don’t want to do is deal with him or his case until I have that name. Kicking him in the balls might’ve just pissed him off more, and now you’ve let a bully stew on it for a while, which might be dangerous for you. Got it?”

“You have no right to interfere,” she whispered.

“Baby, I’ve been fuckin’ you for months. That gives me every right.” Anger glowed dark in his eyes.

“We’re done. Get out.”

His eyes softened. “You shouldn’t make statements you can’t back up.”

She shoved against his ripped abs.

He didn’t move a millimeter.

And then he did.

His head dipped, and his mouth found her neck and wandered up to her ear. His teeth scraped, and then his tongue licked the slight wound.

Of its own volition, her body did a full tremble.

He leaned back. “That.”

Her mind fuzzed.

His mouth slammed down on hers. She knew his kiss—often dreamed about it. Not soft and sweet . . . not even lustful. It was dangerous. From day one, she’d tasted danger on his tongue, and it burned her hotter than she’d ever been.

Never had she dated a bad boy, but after living her desired routine-driven life for years, she’d craved adventure, and he filled that need. He drew out a wildness she hadn’t realized she possessed.

He held her flush against the door, kissing her hard, sending a craving along her nerves that almost hurt. His tongue went to work, his left hand keeping her jaw open for him. His right hand found her hip and dragged her against the obvious bulge in his jeans. By the time he released her, she’d stopped thinking completely.

“What time are you finished today?” he asked, his breath heating her face.

“Fi-five,” she stuttered.

He leaned back and gently put her to the side. “Stay in the office until I come for you at five, Zara.” He ran his thumb across her bottom lip. “Cross me on this, baby, and I ain’t gonna be gentle.” He had already shut the door behind himself before she could take a whole breath.

She blinked several times, her fingers going to her still-tingling mouth. What had just happened?
