Seventeen-year-old Scarlett Blake is haunted by death. Her estranged sister has made the ultimate dramatic exit. Running away from school, joining a surfing fraternity, partying hard: that sounds like Sienna. Butsuicide? It makes no sense.

Following in her sister’s footsteps, Scarlett comes to the isolated cove of Twycombe, Devon, with grand plans to uncover the truth. Alone. But she hasn’t reckoned on meeting two boys who are determined to help her. Luke: the blue-eyed surfer who’ll see the real Scarlett, who’ll challenge her, who’ll save her. And Jude: the elusive drifter with a knack for turning up whenever Scarlett’s in need.

As Scarlett’s quest for the truth unravels, so too does her grip on reality as she’s always known it. Because there’s something strange going on in this little cove. A dead magpie circles the skies. A dead deer watches from the undergrowth. Hands glow with light. Warmth. Power.

What transpires is a summer of discovery. Of what it means to conquer fear. To fall in love. To choose life. To choose death.

To believe the impossible.
An ocean. A death. A mystery.

Scarlett seeks answers. After her sister's sudden death, Scarlett decides to move in to the cottage her grandparent's used to live, the same cottage her sister lived before she drowned. In her effort to find answers about her sister's life and death, Scarlett will have to reconsider everything she knows.

But sometimes the truth isn't what we want it to be.

Scarlett never expected the answers she got. Apparently she didn't know her sister that well. Was her death an accident or a suicide?

Death Wish was a book full of mysteries. Scarlett is searching for clues but discovers a deeper mystery. It was an incredible journey following Scarlett as she uncovered secrets and met people her sister knew. How can she trust anyone when even her parents are hiding their secrets?

I loved Scarlett and the secondary characters were pretty amazing too. Luke, a local surfer, was seriously hot, charming and I loved how mature he was. Despite not being totally honest from the beginning, he redeemed himself. Cara, his sister and Scarlett's new friend, was really fun to have around, a wonderful and loyal friend but I have to admit that she was a bit irresponsible.

Scarlett is determined to find the answers she seeks and nothing will stop her!

If you love suspense, mystery and a touch of paranormal then Death wish is for you.
