Title: Appealed
Author: Emma Chase
Series: The Legal Briefs #3

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo
When Brent Mason looks at Kennedy Randolph, he doesn’t see the awkward, sweet girl who grew up next door. He sees a self-assured, stunning woman…who wants to crush the most intimate - and prized - parts of his anatomy beneath the heels of her Christian Louboutins.
Brent has never let the loss of his leg in a childhood accident affect his ability to lead a fulfilling life. He sets high goals–and then he reaches them.
And now he has his sights set on Kennedy.
**
When Kennedy looks at Brent Mason, all she sees is the selfish, Abercrombie & Fitch catalogue-worthy teenager who humiliated her in high school to join the popular crowd. A crowd that made those years a living hell.

She’s not a lovesick social outcast anymore - she’s a DC prosecutor with a long winning streak behind her. Brent is the opposing attorney in her next case and she thinks it’s time to put him through a little hell of his own.

But things aren’t exactly working out that way.

Because every fiery exchange has her wondering if he’s as passionate in the bedroom as he is in the courtroom. Each argument and objection only makes him want her more. In the end, Brent and Kennedy may just find themselves in love…or in contempt of court.
Holy cow!!!

Appealed is probably my fav book in the series! I say probably because I abso-f*cking-lutely loved Sustained but this was even beyond that one!

Enemies to lovers! Brent and Kennedy’s story was so much different from the previous two.

Brent and Kennedy have known each other since… forever. Having grown up next door to each other in their privileged world they soon become best friends with a bond promising much but every dream and promise shattered after their time at the same exclusive boarding school. Now, 14 years later, Brent is surprised to see Kennedy in the courtroom as the prosecutor on his current case.

Brent was the BEST! I really loved him! He was always so charming, funny and living his life at its fullest. He’s a successful criminal defense attorney but he’s so much fun. He’s loyal to his friends and thankful to have them in his life. Kennedy was in part as much fun as Brent but her past has left its mark on her. She cannot forgive Brent for all that happened 14 years ago even though she pretends to have left the past behind.

The chemistry between them was explosive! Really, I have no idea how Emma Chase manages to create and match her characters so perfectly! I enjoyed both of them so much. They were two incredible characters and you could really feel the tension between them.

Appealed was an incredibly heart-warming second chance love story, with realistic characters and a realistic plot. This was no first sight love! Brent and Kennedy have known each other since they were kids but that does not mean that they get back together as soon as they see each other. Their relationship tales time to develop and it was wonderful following their journey.

We also get to catch up with all the characters from the previous books, which was amazing, and as if that wasn’t incredible enough the author offers us an extended epilogue set into their future! Simply breathtaking!

The legal briefs series was a beautiful series and I can’t believe it’s over! I had so much fun reading Stanton and Sofia, Chelsea and Jake and now Brent and Kennedy’s stories that I definitely know I will be re-reading them soon-ish!

Big and sweeping, spanning the refined palaces of Osfrid to the gold dust and untamed forests of Adoria, The Glittering Court tells the story of Adelaide, an Osfridian countess who poses as her servant to escape an arranged marriage and start a new life in Adoria, the New World. But to do that, she must join the Glittering Court.

Both a school and a business venture, the Glittering Court is designed to transform impoverished girls into upper-class ladies capable of arranging powerful and wealthy marriages in the New World. Adelaide naturally excels in her training and even makes a few friends: the fiery former laundress Tamsin and the beautiful Sirminican refugee Mira. She manages to keep her true identity hidden from all but one: the intriguing Cedric Thorn, son of the wealthy proprietor of the Glittering Court.
When Adelaide discovers that Cedric is hiding a dangerous secret of his own, together, they hatch a scheme to make the best of Adelaide’s deception. Complications soon arise—first, as they cross the treacherous seas from Osfrid to Adoria, and later, when Adelaide catches the attention of a powerful governor.
But no complication will prove quite as daunting as the potent attraction simmering between Adelaide and Cedric. An attraction that, if acted on, would scandalize the Glittering Court and make them both outcasts in wild, vastly uncharted lands. . . .

Review: The Baller: A Down and Dirty Football Novel by Vi Keeland

Title: The Baller: A Down and Dirty Football Novel
Author: Vi Keeland
Series: None

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N

The first time I met Brody Easton was in the men’s locker room.
It was my first interview as a professional sportscaster.
The famed quarterback decided to bare all.
And by all, I don’t mean he told me any of his secrets.
No. The arrogant ass decided to drop his towel, just as I asked the first question. On camera.
The Super Bowl MVP quickly adopted a new hobby—screwing with me.
When I pushed back, he shifted from wanting to screw with me, to wanting to screw me.
But I don’t date players.
And it’s not because I’m one of the few women working in the world of professional football.
I’d date an athlete.
It’s the other kind of player I don’t date.
You know the type. Good looking, strong, cocky, always looking to get laid.
Brody Easton was the ultimate player.
Every woman wanted to be the one to change him.
But the truth was, all he needed was a girl worth changing for.
Turned out, I was that girl.
Simple right?
Let’s face it. It never is.
There’s a story between once upon a time and happily ever after…And this one is ours.
Vi Keeland’s books always draw me in from the beginning. Once I read the blurb on Goodreads and add them on my tbr shelf, I know I’m going to (I must) buy them. The baller was no different!

I had so much FUN reading this book! Brody Easton, a quarterback is one cocky hero. Delilah a sports journalist who has worked really hard to get where she is and won’t let this arrogant womanizer destroy her reputation just for his fun. But Delilah is soon to discover that Brody does not play fair and he is not known for easily giving up. Well guess what neither is Delilah!

The baller was a lovable sports romance with two amazing characters who each had their own story. I loved that Delilah and Brody had such elaborated backgrounds. Finding about their past helped me understand them and their insecurities better which helped me enjoy the book more. This was such an easy read! It’s one of these books that simply flows and then once you have finished and realized that it’s been hours you just know it was simply worth it!

Get ready to fall for the one and only Brody Easton!
