Bloodspell  (Bloodspell #1)

By Amalie Howard

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

'Love is a breeding ground for betrayal. Guard against it.”-Christian

Bloodspell is the first book I read by Amalie Howard.I really liked this book.I liked the fact that Victoria was so independent and I also liked Leto, the cat that made her see that not everything was lost.

Victoria Warrick likes to have controlof things but being on the verge of graduationand finding out about the powers she possesses, which she cannot always control, isn't her cup of tea.And on top of all, meeting Christian Devereux and learning that a relationship between them cannot be sustained is the tip of the iceberg.

I loved both the main and the secondary characters. They were all used throughout the book. What I mean is that in many books, the main characters get the majority of the book while the secondary ones are just mentioned so as the reader not to ger bored.

I'm so into vampires this period(who am I kidding???Love them) and it was so invigorating reading a book that combined both vampires and witches.

I definitely recommend Bloodspell and I'm looking forward to reading Bloodcraft.

Blurb:

The spell was simple...

Cruentus Protectum (Defend the Blood)

But what do you do if your blood is your enemy?

Victoria Warrick has always known she was different. An outcast at school, she is no stranger to adversity. But when she receives an old journal for her seventeenth birthday, nothing prepares her for the dark secrets it holds -- much less one that reveals she's a witch with unimaginable power.

What's more, when she meets the dazzling but enigmatic Christian Devereux, she has no idea how much her life is about to change. Enemies will hunt her. Friends will turn on her. The terrible curse that makes her blood run black will stop at nothing to control her. And Christian has a sinister secret of his own...

Without knowing whom to trust, can Victoria survive her blood's deadly desires? Or will she lose everything, including herself?

Slumber  (The Fade #1)

By Samantha Young

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“You're going to get us killed."

"Well, since you got us kidnapped in the first place, I think it's only fair.” Rogan and Wolfe

A lovely romance story!!!Slumber is the remake of Sleeping Beauty with a few twists...

Background story..

Rogan never dreamed a life like this. After witnessing the murder of her family,Rogan is taken by Stovia(the murderer) along with other children with abilities like hers. When the royal family learns what Stovia is doing with these children they sentence him to death.Rogan, along with the other children,is raised in the palace.Threre she becomes best friend with the princess,Hayden.

Present...
A disease takes hold of Hayden and Rogan begins a journey in which she must find the cure to wake Hayde up before time runs out.But with the responsibility to save the princess, who will protect her?The answer comes from Wolfe Stovia, head of security and son of her family's murderer.Rogan intents to find the cure alone but when Wolfe makes her choose(or rather demands)either she go with him or not at all the choice is made.

And so the journey begins.A journey filled with pain, horror,an abduction but hope and love too.

Slumber is the first book I read by Samantha Young and I'm quite impressed by the whole new world she had created in this book.A world full of magic but yet deprived of affection.I liked many things about this book like the way Lady Rogan and Captain Wolfe ended up together, the adventures which were presented in each and every page, the romace between Hayden and Matai, all the secondary characters(just perfect) and above everything else I liked the fact that this book seemed so real.Slumber has everything a reader might want.
I definitely recommend this book to everyone as it has action, many adventures and romace.I ca't wait to read the following book in the series Sneak Thievery.

Taking Shots By Toni Aleo

Taking Shots  (Assassins #1)

By Toni Aleo

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

“Oh, please! Like I care if I make you jealous!”

“You know you do!”

“You’re acting like an idiot!”

“Damn right, love does this to a person!”Elli and Shea

Wow!!!Taking Shots was way different from the second book in the series Trying to Score.Wondering how I know that?Well, when I first saw the series I was more interested in reading the second than the first book and now I see how right I had been.Although there were times that I really liked the book I wanted to so much to kill Elli(she's so insecure).

Shea Adler,a hockey player for Nashville Assassins, has it all except from what he really wants. When he meets Elli Fisher he knows she's the one.Photographer Elli Fisher is shy, whiny and extremely insecure. And rich.Did I mention that her family owns Nashville Assassins!!After a horrible illness that left her with extra weight,Elli thinks that she's unable of doing anything, even being loved.Well,on one hand her behavior is justifiable as the only thing her mother is capable of is reminding her not to eat much in case she gains weight again. On the other hand, though, she is twenty eight years old and still cares what people say about her, even when Shea tells her over and over again that he loves her just the way she is,she still insists that she isn't good enough for him. What can I say?I envy Shea's patience.

Nevertheless,it wasn't just the Elli that bothered me but the lenght of the book was too long. Not that I didn't like it but I felt that there were times that the book repeated itself. For example, when Shea had to live for the game.It was always the same thing he left, they were both unhappy, they texted each other, they were both annoying and when he came instead of being happy they quarreled,a lot.Poor Shea...

I have to say that if I were to choose between the first and the second book,I would definatelly choose the second one.

I would only recommend this book to those who really love a good romance.

Breathless

By Cole Gibsen

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“Remember when I asked you how I would know if I loved you?I figured it out—I do.” Bastin

What an incredible book!!!Breathless is the first book I read by Cole Gibsen and I'm very impressed by her ability to put together such an emotional novel.I can't say that it gripped my attention from the first page but it surelly did from the second page till the last.

I loved the main characters!!!Edith and Bastin were so unpredictable, loyal and both "prisoners"to their fathers' wil.Despite the differences between their worlds they not only managed to develop a relationship but they taught each other the importance of being loved.Bastin was so adorable at times, asking all those awkward questions, and so very romantic. On the other side,Edith was controlled, expectable since her stepfather works in the air force, and in great need of affection.

I really liked this book. Not only was the plot original but each chapter was in a firm accordance with the previous one.Not once did I get confused or lost.Yet,when I finished Breathless I wished to read a sequel for it.I would like to know how things progressed between Bastin and Edith, between Edith and her aunt, between her mother and her stepfather(a real douchebag )and anyway I would have really liked to read a second book.

Nevertheless,I totally recommend this book. You won't be disappointed.

Leif  (Existence Trilogy #2.5)

By Abbi Glines

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

He is Death. See him for who he is- Leif

What can I say???Another 5 stars for this magnificent addition to the Existence series. In this book we see things that have happened during Existence and Predestined but from Leif's perspective. We get to see what Leif truly felt for Pagan and how deep his emotions were.Although some might hate Leif,I can't do anything than love him. It's just the fact that he was so adorable and cute and even though Pagan was such a b****** at the beginning he was still so patient.Of course, his actions in the end were unjustifiable but he acknowledged his mistakes and finally let her go.It was different to see how things happended from his point of view because we could see how hard he tried not only to impress her but also become a part of her world. He stayed with her throughout her life, protected her, made her happy, helped her when she needed someone(the tree scene and also when she lost her mother in the park) and he was always there for her.

Having said that,I believe that Leif will definatelly find someone else more suited for him.I really want to see him get his happy ever after bacause he absolutely deserves it.And if I have to guess,I would say that he may have already found her.You see in this book we meet a girl named Sabine who is looking for her sister in Vilokan, the voodoo afterlife, and in her attempt to find her meets Leif who really likes her.Love in first sight???Maybe yes or maybe not!!!I know what I'm hoping for...

Blurb:

"She was mine. I owned her soul…until Death stole her heart."

LEIF is a novella from the Existence series. It is glimpses into Leif's point-of-view during both Existence and Predestined. Also, each digital copy of LEIF has a free download for Dank Walker (AKA Death) newest song - Closer.

Echos at Dawn  (KGI #5)

By Maya Banks

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow!!!Another great addition in the KGI series Echos at Dawn was an incredible, worth reading book.Echos at Dawn tells the story of Grace Peterson,Shea's sister, and Rio,member of KGI.

After having escaped from the people who kidnapped her Grace is in need of protection.Guess who will do the job???When Rio volunteers to do the job many brows are raised but no one says anything. So,Rio takes his team and starts looking for Grace. But finding Grace isn't so difficult as protecting her is.Can he really protect her from the people who want to take advantage of her extraordinary ability to heal?

I loved this book as I did with every KGI book.It has a combination of action, romance and suspense that will keep you on the edge.In this book we see how exactly Grace's ability works, how rio and Grace's relationship steadily develops and what a compatible couple they are.

The fifth book in the KGI is definately a must read and I absolutely recommend it.I'm also looking forward to reading the next book in the series Shades of Grey,Cole and PJ's story that will be published at January 1st 2013.

Blurb:

They live by night.

Anna Dressed In Blood By Kendare Blake

Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna #1)

By Kendare Blake

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

It's the first book I read by Kendare Blake and I have to say that it wasn't what I thought it would be.Before reading it I thought that we would see a relationship developing between Anna and Cas or at least something romantic. But there were nothing to indicate that something was going on between them.

After their first acquaintance the story progresses very fast.Anna is evil and one chapter after she is like an angel, like nothing ever happend, like she didn't kill anyone.(I have to add though, that the way she died was really cruel.)In the first four or five chapters she is bound inside the house and then magically she can roam everywhere but she doesn't because she wants to pubish herself for all the people she killed. What???Really???She was murdered in that house and later she was bound to it and couldn't even step outside the porch and when Cas removed the spell that bound her to the house she is like"No I don't deserve to leave this house,I know that I was murdered here but I killed people and now I'm sooooo evil"Come on guys!!!Let's think of it.You are brutally murdered in a house and then you can't leave from there and then someone comes and tells you"You are free".What do you do???Definatelly leave as far as possible. And as for the love part...there was none. You don't feel it because neither do Cas nor Anna.He learns that he has feeling for her when his friend mentions it.Really???They barely talk throughout the book and they also only kiss two or three times. So,let's not talk about Anna's feelings because we scarcely get a picture of Cas feelings.

The only reason I'm giving this book 3 stars is because of the secondary charactes.I just adore them!!!!I can't say that I enjoyed Anna Dressed in Blood but it wasn't so bad either. So,am I looking forward to reading Girl of Nightmares(the sequel)???Not so much, but I think I'll give it a try!!!!

Blurb:
Just your average boy-meets-girl, girl-kills-people story...

Cas Lowood has inherited an unusual vocation: He kills the dead.

So did his father before him, until his gruesome murder by a ghost he sought to kill. Now, armed with his father’s mysterious and deadly athame, Cas travels the country with his kitchen-witch mother and their spirit-sniffing cat. Together they follow legends and local lore, trying to keep up with the murderous dead—keeping pesky things like the future and friends at bay.

When they arrive in a new town in search of a ghost the locals call Anna Dressed in Blood, Cas doesn’t expect anything outside of the ordinary: move, hunt, kill. What he finds instead is a girl entangled in curses and rage, a ghost like he’s never faced before. She still wears the dress she wore on the day of her brutal murder in 1958: once white, but now stained red and dripping blood. Since her death, Anna has killed any and every person who has dared to step into the deserted Victorian she used to call home.

And she, for whatever reason, spares his life.

Angel Betrayed (The Fallen, #2)

By Cynthia Eden

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“I figure you owe me, Fallen.”

“Seems you told me that before.”

“Well, yeah, I did. Because every time I turn around, you’re owing me.”

LOVED IT!!!!!

Oh...Cynthia Eden you did it again.I just can't resist reading your books.Once again here I am giving 5 stars to an incredible book.Angel Betrayed is an amazing addition to The Fallen series.Since Angel of Darkness I've been patiently waiting for Sam's story and finally I read it!!!

Wow...Sam and Seline????Talk about chemistry.Especially with an angel and a half succubus. Well done Seline!!!Playing with a fallen.

So,the story goes like:girl is in danger, she goes asking for help from a fallen and he decides to play good.Boy helps girl(can bad boys do that???)until he realizes that looks are deceiving. But not everything is a lie.Girl tells the (half) truth to boy and he wants to play the good knight in the shining armor and save the damsel in distress. One tragedy follows the other and we come facing the question:What would you sacrifice to save your love???Would you spent a thousand years burning in hell just to see your beloved one???Maybe not you but Sam definitely would. That's why I love him so much...

Not much more to say other that you should,no you must absolutely read Angel Betrayed.I definately recommend it and I can't wait to read Angel in Chains, the third book in The Fallen series(I'm not sure but I think it will be about Tomas and Sierra) and hopefully not the last.

Blurb:

A LITTLE BIT OF ANGEL LUST.
Sammael – call him Sam – was an angel once. An angel of death. But the dispassionate, watch-from-above thing just wasn’t working for him when it meant watching evil torture innocent souls day in and day out. It might have cost him his wings, but these days, he gets to apply the direct method on the bad guys. Problem is, what’s making his life difficult is a bad girl…

Seline O’Shaw needs protection, and with the hounds of hell on her tail, she’s not going to quibble too hard about where she gets it. Sam’s virtue is questionable, but he’s smoking hot, massively powerful, and owes her a favor. So what if she’s getting a little case of angel lust? There are some damn deadly sins after her hide…

Spirit Bound  (Sisters of the Heart, #2)

By Christine Feehan

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Spirit Bound is an amazing addition to the Sea Haven. series. This book tells the story of Judith and Lev's older brother Stefan. Both Judith and Stefan are tortured souls with a tormented past. They come together at the most sensitive time.Well, not exactly but something like that.

Stefan is in a new mission, one that includes tricking Judith into believing that he is someone else, someone he would like to be,someone who could freely love and live but the truth is that non of this is true. Not for Stefan.Dtefan believes that he's uncrupulous,a man without emotions and loyalty but when he's with Judith everything is different. He feels.Everything.

On the other hand,Judith is amiable, gentle, polite, kind and full of life.Despite her hunted past she survives and leads a happy but yet lacking life.Being with Thomas, aka Stefan, fulfills her. They desire the same things, want and need the same things.

In this book we also get to see the bond between the sisters and how well they communicate with each other. We also see how Lev and Rikki's realationship has progressed and how protective they are with each other.

It's a stupendous book that explores the many angles of love and pain and the tiny line that seperates them.In order to read it you should previously read Water Bound so that you understand what's going on.I absolutely recommend this book and I can't wait to read the following book in the series

Blurb:
Lethal undercover agent Stefan Prakenskii knew a thousand ways to kills a man—and twice as many ways to pleasure a woman. That’s what made him look forward to his new mission: arrive in the coastal town of Sea Haven and insinuate himself in the life of an elusive beauty who had mysterious ties to his past, and a link to a dangerously seductive, and equally elusive master criminal who wanted only one thing: to possess her.

Judith Henderson was an artist on the rise—an ethereal, and haunted woman whose own picture-perfect beauty stirred the souls of two men who have made her their obsession. For years she has been waiting for someone to come and unlock the passion and fire within her—waiting for the right man to surrender it to. But only one man can survive her secrets, and the shadow she has cast over both their lives.
