I’ve been a fan of Nalini’s for so long and yet I was so afraid to begin this series. I’m in love with Nalini’s Psy/ changeling series and I thought if I read and hated this series then I’d stop reading any book by the author. But none of this thankfully happened. I can’t say that I loved this series as much as I do the Psy/ Changeling or the Rock Kiss series but I definitely enjoyed it.

I’ve read a few books about angels and every book describes them differently. Nalini’s angels were no different. Nalini has created this whole new world. Her angels were unique. They were human-like, very sexual creatures but they were also dark and sometimes even evil, they ruled the world. The angels were at the very top of the pyramid, while the vampires followed and at the bottom were the humans. If you actually consider it, it makes sense. The angels were always high up the sky, the humans were down to the earth while the vampires were in between. Not quite humans but not angels either.

Raphael, the archangel of New York, is in need of the best vampire hunter. So, who’s better to do the job than Elena, a hunter with the ability to sense vampires? I really liked Elena. She was independent, strong, a survivor but above everything else she had a great sense of humor. She was very dedicated to her job and determined to see it through. On the other hand, Raphael was ruthless and as a member of the Cadre (a group of ten powerful archangels who ruled the world) he had to be. When he met Elena for the first time, he wasn’t sure whether to keep her or kill her. But somehow he fell for her. All Raphael saw in Elena was a strong warrior and a woman who hid behind a mask. A mask that Raphael wanted to remove. He wanted to see the real Elena, the person she never let anyone see.

I loved this couple.

The author managed to take their attraction to the next level and show us what they can become. They were so many twists and turns and the end was an unexpected one. I never saw it coming. Thankfully the second book is already out so we don’t have to wait to see what’s going to happen next.

What just happened?

When I started reading this book, I knew two things for sure:

1) Roth was definitely coming back


2) Layla and Zayne would come closer

But it’s different knowing things and them really happening.

Let’s start from the beginning though. The second book in the Dark Elements series will definitely blow you away. After that horrible cliffhanger, we finally get to see Roth’s return *drums*. I really, really love Roth (team Roth all the way) but he was so unfair to Layla at the beginning. Layla wasn’t doing great either. After Roth was gone the only thing she had of his was Bambi. She mourned him and felt so guilty for everything that happened. So when Roth does return, she’s shocked by his behavior and as if that isn’t enough, Layla’s powers are changing once again.

Layla doesn’t feel confident of her powers, especially now that something strange is happening. An old race of demons has awakened and unusual things are occurring at school. Things are so out of control that wardens are forced to work with the demons in order to find and eliminate the threat. No one ones who’s the cause of all these but all evidence points at Layla.

Is she the one causing these things? Even Layla, herself is unsure of the answer…

This was a WoW book for me! I loved Layla and Roth I usually hate love triangles but J. Armentrout knew what she was doing. I have to admit that for one tiny moment, I did consider Zayne as Layla’s mate but then something happened and I realized that Zayne would have never been able to protect her. Of course, Layla and Zayne were triple hot (their make out scenes were super incredible). I totally enjoyed seeing them together. I think if we hadn’t seen them together, we would have wondered what could become of them. Now that I have seen them together, I can say that they were amazing but I’m still Team Roth.

Roth may not be the wise choice for her but he was the one that always stood by her. Besides that though, he’s sin incarnated. Who could resist him?

Stone Cold Touch was everything I expected and more! Filled with romance, humor, twists and turns it captured my attention from page one till the end. I know you’re thinking that this is another love triangle but believe me when I say, this is not the case. Layla, Zayne and Roth are such amazing characters. You will surely fall in love with them.

I wish this trilogy never ended but I’m really looking forward to reading the third and final book in the series.

Read in one sitting!!!! That good :)

Let me start by saying how long I have waited for Cole’s book. I was beyond excited when the author announced both the title and the publication date of the book. The book may not have been everything I expected (don’t get me wrong, I loved this book) but I devoured it.

When I first started reading this book I thought we would get more Cole action. But the reality is that we got almost no action. What I also expected was a more paranormal aspect but we got none of it as well. These facts may have dissuaded me a bit but come on… this is freaking Cole’s book.

Sinner had both Cole and Isabe’s point of views. I have to admit that Isabel frustrated me a bit (ok more than that). They both had to go through some personal issues, especially Cole, since he was a werewolf living under the spotlight but I felt like Isabel always overreacted and she always run. I’m just so angry when people try to run away from their problems repeatedly. I understand the need to get away once but I just can’t comprehend the running attitude. It leads nowhere and it eventually creates more problems. Isabel must have surely broken some record with all that running. She doesn’t believe in HEAs, in love and she has no faith. I expected her to believe in Cole at least.

Sinner introduced us to some new characters as well. That was very invigorating! We get some glimpses from Sam and Grace but nothing major really.

You may not believe me but I actually loved this book. As every book, it had some things that I didn’t love but in the end everything worked out for me, even Isabel. Isabel learned from her mistakes and actually trusted Cole from the very beginning. It was herself who she doubted. In the end she run to Cole and she was the one to claim him!

Before reading Wuthering Heights, I assumed that I would be reading a dark love story. But having read the book, I assure you this is not the case. This is indeed a dark novel but its darkness lies on the obsessiveness, the cruelty, the violence and ultimately the selfishness of Heathcliff and Cathy.

I loved the way the author chose to present us her story. Everything we get to know is from the housekeeper’s point of view. Nix, the housekeeper, narrates Heathcliff and Cathy’s story to Mr. Lockwood, a tenant who rents a house from Heathcliff. Mr. Lockwood is also the only character who plays no role to the main story. He’s just a new tenant who after meeting Heathciff, is interested in finding out his story and Nix, who was particularly raised with Heathcliff and Cathy, knows all there is to know.

I was beyond shocked when I finished their story. Heathcliff and Cathy were two selfish and narcissistic characters who cared only for themselves. They were so miserable that made the people around them miserable as well. Especially Cathy who even after her death continued to torment the people who loved her. Heathcliff and Cathy surely deserved each other. What really surprises me though, is that these two had never had an actual love affair. I don’t even remember if they had kissed at all. Their “love” was possessive and based on narcissism.

Every character in this book, with the exception of Mr. Lockwood, is trapped between two houses. These two houses are the places that the story takes place. Even Nix, the narrator, is currently trapped to one of these two houses because of Heathcliff.

All in all, Wuthering Heights may not have been what I expected it to be but it surely lived up to my expectations. Truth be told, ever since Cathy died I expected Heathcliff to ask for forgiveness but he never did. I wasn’t much surprised that he didn’t but I thought that with Cathy gone, he would be at last free. In my opinion, Heathcliff himself destroyed his soul.

Highly recommended!

Breakable isn’t the sequel to Easy. Breakable is a retold of Easy from Lucas’s POV (point of view) and I’m really glad I read it.

When I read Easy, I was always intrigued by what Lucas’s thoughts were and why he acted as he did. After reading Breakable all my questions have been finally answered.

Lucas’s POV (aka Landon’s) provided us with every pieceof information that was omitted in the previous book. While reading this book we witness every struggle, both in the past and in the present, Lucas had to tackle to become the man we met in Easy. Everytime the author chooses to reveal something from Lucas’s past or just a memory, she refers to him as Landon. Because that’s who Lucas was before he became who he is now, he was just Landon. A boy who had two lovely and caring parents. A boy who never once saw how cruel and unfair this world is. Lucas lost everything in just a night: his childhood, his innocence and his mother. Losing his mother affected him tragically in his life, especially considering the way his mother died.

It was kind of weird seeing Jacquline through Lucas’s eyes. He watched after her, cared for her and eventually she became his salvation.

I loved the flashbacks Lucas had and all those little snippets of his childhood. Some memories were perfect and other just explained the nightmares he had to suffer. All these things clarified so much about his behavior and the life he led.

Once again I was mesmerised by the amazing writing, the realistic characters and the ability of the author to portray such a challenging subject.

For all the fans of Easy, I strongly recommend that you read Breakable. I was not in the least disappointed. Quite contrary, this book captured my attention from the very beginning till the end.

Lucas is the best and strongest hero ever.

Easy was the first book I read by this author. It was a pleasant surprise to read such a smart story.

I must admit that when I started reading the book, I never expected the author to give us such a thorough background for our hero. And he was a real hero for me.

This book was nothing “easy” to read. It was emotionally charged, very realistically written and dealt with a difficult subject.

Lucas was our tortured hero but he was also obsessed with Jacqueline, our heroine. Jacquline is studying economics, a decision she made based on he ex-boyfriend’s choice. After beeen attacted and rescued by Lucas, she knows she must get to know him better. After all he’s nothing like a hero should be. Tattooed, pierced and a motorcycle man, Lucas will surely make you doubt your hero view.

Jacquiline, knows she should stay away from him but she can’t resist. Her attraction to Lucas is unavoidable but at the same time dangerous for them both.

The author did a good job in portraying life on campus. Life on campus can be wild, partying, flirting and staying up all night but it can also hide many dangers.

What I really loved was the major twist the author created. Jacquline’s division between Luas and Landon. A dilemma that actually never existed.

The book follows Jacquline on her journey to college and the unexpected incidents that occur.

The attraction between Lucas and Jacquline was and felt very real. They were both very realistic characters and Lucas, despite all he went through, managed to let everything stay in the past. He was adamant to make his relationship with Jacquline work.

I’m very glad I read Esay.

For those who know me, you already know that I looooove Nalini Singh. I'm in love with her 
Psy-Changeling series and her brand new Rock Kiss series. I was a bit hesitant about reading her Guild Hunter series becasue it was so different from the Psy/Changeling and I didn't want to be dissapointed but... I just got addicted! I read the first 4 books this week and I'm currenly reading the 5th.  I don't want to start the 6th and 7th because the 8th book comes out next year (September 2015)

Stay with me just became my second favourite book in the wait for you series by J.Armentrout. This book tells the story of Calla, Teresa’s friend and Jax, a handsome bartender in her mother’s bar.

Calla is quite a mystery, even to her friends. She doesn’t talk much, she never mentions her family or things about her past and she’s always hiding herself. She believes that she’s finally doing something with her life.

You see Calla has three “tiny” goals:

"Finish college.

Find a career in the nursing field.

Finally reap the benefits of following through on something.”

Everything seems to be going according to her plan until her past comes back to hunt her, forcing her to go to a place she never wanted to return, home. But when she does return, she’s shocked to find out that her mother is long gone. Even more shocking though, is the new bartender at her mother’s bar, Jax. Jax and Calla are immediately attracted to each other. Calla knows that someone like Jax could never be drawn to someone like her but little does she realise that Jax already knows everything there is to know about her.

Stay with me was exactly like I expected it to be. Jax was a unique character. He didn’t personally know Calla but it was as if they had spent years together. I really can’t expain their connection. You have to read the book to understand their bond. Jax sees beauty all around him and despite what Calla thinks of herself , Jax tries (very hard) to convince her of her beauty.

On the other hand, Calla has stopped believing in the world and has long since given up on herself. She’s has a hard life but she has chosen a better path. I think that the fact that Calla tries to change is a positive thing for her.

Stay with me was an incredible addition to the series. Jax and Calla were two wonderful characters who fought so hard to achieve their goals. It was fun following their journey. Action, romance, humor, drama and a sweet hero are all included. Until forever with me…

The kids were at the table, coloring quietly. It seemed so easy for them to forget about the nightmare happening outside while they chose the perfect shade of blue and dragged it back and forth on the paper. I wished it were that simple, that I could just busy myself with something and pretend everything was normal.
I smirked and looked at Connor. “Are we running for our lives or running a daycare?”
He leaned away from the hole in the plywood and watched me for a moment, frowning. “If you saw inside the school, you wouldn’t be complaining. Out of this entire town, only three of us are left. Another boy was in the church. His name was Evan. He was older than me, but he didn’t make it out. So, now, it’s just us and April. Your bunch brings the kid population to a grand total of eight. Eight—that’s not even a daycare. That’s just sad.”
“I…I’m sorry. I was just trying to make conversation. I didn’t mean—”
“I know,” he said, looking back through the hole. “I didn’t mean it either. I’m just mad.”
I wondered what Connor was like before this had happened because he didn’t act his age.
“I bet you are.”
“If I were older, I could have saved more people. If I were older—”
“There are a lot of adults around. None of them have stopped this. Don’t carry that around with you.”
“I’m not carrying anything. The only things I have are my clothes.”
“Where do you live? Maybe we could go get some of your things?”
He shook his head. “What does any of that stuff matter now?”
I shrugged. His way of thinking made me miss Chloe. I wondered where she was, if her mom had picked her up in time. I would hope. That was all I had left. “I wish I could have brought something from my old room. Makes it feel more like home.” When Connor didn’t respond, I continued, “It’s not as loud as I thought it would be. Not a lot of screaming or hysterics. People get quiet when they’re afraid.”
“It’s only been two days,” Connor said without emotion. “Give them time.”
“Halle used to talk all the time. She’s barely said a word. She hasn’t even really cried.”
“Good. Loud kids get eaten.”
“You’re creepy,” I said, crossing my arms.
He leaned back and looked at me, the corners of his mouth turned up ever so slightly. “You’re weird.”
“Yeah? Well, I’m not the one staring at a cemetery when dead people are walking around.”
“I’m not staring at the cemetery. I’m watching Skeeter.”
“Who’s Skeeter?” I asked.
“The guy who saved me.”
“I thought you said your teacher saved you?”
“He saved me from my teacher.”
My eyebrows shot up. “Oh.”
“He’s burying his wife.”
I furrowed my brows. “Oh.”
“She was pretty. April said she said she was pregnant. I’m pretty sure he had to shoot her. It was…sad, I guess—if that’s the right word.”
“Sad is the right word.”
“It doesn’t seem like enough.”
“May I?” I asked, pointing to the hole.
Connor wasn’t imagining things. A man was standing in the cemetery with a shovel, and a body covered in plastic was lying on the ground next to him. “I see him,” I said.
“Yep.”
The man was filthy, covered in sweat, and once in a while, he would pause to aim and fire his gun.
So, that’s where the gunshots were coming from.
He was fearless, his shaggy sandy-blond hair sticking out of his ball cap. He was too far from me, so I couldn’t make out his face, but his body would shake periodically, and I knew that he was crying.
“Should we tell him we’re here? He seems like a good person to have around. Good with a gun,” I asked.
“April already tried. He’s going to find his brother and niece when he’s done.”
I looked at Connor. “I’m sorry about your parents and your teacher. That sucks—a lot.”
“Yep,” he said before walking away.
