Before We Fall (Beautifully Broken #3)

One dark moment was all it took to turn twenty-four-year-old Dominic Kinkaide's world black. On the night of his high school graduation, a single incident changed him forever,
and he became
a hardened man-famous in the eyes of the world, but tortured inside. Now all he cares about is losing himself in the roles that he plays.

At twenty-three years old, Jacey Vincent doesn't realize how much her father's indifference has affected her. She is proof that sometimes it isn't one specific moment that wrecks
a person, but an absence of moments. She tries to find acceptance in the arms of men to fill the void-a plan that
has worked just fine for her, until she meets Dominic. When jaded Dominic and strong-willed Jacey are thrown together, the combination of his secrets and her issues turns their
attraction into the perfect storm. It could change their lives for good-if it doesn't tear them both apart…

“Are you feeling warm yet?”

I watch his lips as he speaks the words, husky and low. His lips are full, yet manly and suddenly I ache to lean over and press mine to his, to touch them in any way that I can.
But I don’t.
Because I’m not a girl who gets used. Not anymore.

“No, not at all.”

But Dominic takes that as a challenge. He’s not used to hearing the word no and he’s not about to start now. I see that in his dark eyes a scant moment before he dips his head and consumes my mouth.
I say consume, instead of kiss, because that’s what he does.

He consumes me.

His lips are fiery and hot and he kisses me with a fierceness that touches a secret part of me; moist, hot, firm, sexy. I want to inhale him, to suck him down. I vaguely feel his hands on my back, his warmth emanating through my clothes, his hardness pushing into my softness.
I’m breathless when he pulls away.

“What about now?”

Here it is. The end of her life. Eve always knew it would come, and that it would be exactly like this. With a swarm of dead flesh and tangling limbs. She knew it wouldn’t be peaceful when she reached a ripe old age, holding her grandchild’s hand, and telling stories that he or she had already heard a million times.
No, she knew that had never been in the cards for her. Not with the way the world had crumbled four years ago.

People had died in waves, the sickness ravaging their bodies within days, some within hours. It wouldn’t have been so bad if they had died and actually stayed dead. Yes, that would have been idyllic. But they didn’t. Once the virus had destroyed them, they came back, a shell of their former self—a jenk.
At least that’s what Eve called them. They were what bedtime stories and bad TV shows tried to create before the Crave came. Zombies.

He needs to get a job and find a sense of normalcy if he’s going to keep his own demons at bay. The job that falls into his lap, though, is anything but normal. Review: Fear For Me: A Novel of the Bayou Butcher (Montlake Suspense Series #2) by Cynthia Eden

Posted on Saturday, November 16, 2013 1:34 PM
Fear For Me: A Novel of the Bayou Butcher (Montlake Suspense Series #2)

By Cynthia Eden

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fav Quote:

“The way I feel about you—it’s wild and it’s dark. I want you with me all the time. I want your body, your heart. I want you to need me as much as I need you.”

Once upon a time Lauren and Anthony worked together to bring down the Bayou Butcher. Lauren prosecuted the case while Anthony helped catch the killer. But all they while, they had an affair which ended by Anthony leaving town.

Fear for Me: A Novel of the Bayou Butcher starts five years later when the Bayou Butcher escapes from prison and wants revenge from the people who put him away, Lauren and Anthony. Now the time has come for them to work together in order to catch the killer yet again. But this time the kills are more personal than before. The killer wants Lauren dead and Anthony would rather kill him before letting anything happen to her...

Cynthia Eden's book are brilliant and Fear for Me is not an exception.

This book was full of suspense, romance, twists, surprises and more. It gripped my attention from page 1 till the end. Every time I turned a page I wasn't sure what would happen. There were sooooooooo many twists and turns! Moreover, as I kept turning the pages I began doubting everyone. There was a point that I suspected everyone.

However the book has romance as well. I really liked Anthony’s character. He was my favourite part of the book. So dark yet so loving, edgy but so protective. Alpha male all the way! He was a tortured man. Obsessed with a woman who was his salvation and his doom. Anthony was a character I adored.

"Love could be twisted for some…And love could be dark and dangerous and perfect for others."

All in all, this was an incredible book. Definitely worth reading and necessary for every shelf. It had all the things that make a book perfect and an Alpha male. Can we ask for more? I think not.

Totally recommended! Looking forward to reading the next book in the series, Scream For Me: A Novel of the Night Hunter ...

*This book is part of a series. It can be read as a stand-alone but it would be better if you could read the first book in the series before reading this.

She’s the obsession two men share: one wants her love, the other wants her life.

A shared passion for justice first brought Baton Rouge district attorney Lauren Chandler and US marshal Anthony Ross together—when each played their part in bringing down the infamous Bayou Butcher. The sparks flying between the two made it clear they weren’t just a legal dream team. Then desire had to make way for duty, and what they had was done. But it would never be over.

Five years later, it’s none other than the Butcher who gets things started again, when his shocking jailbreak reunites the lawyer and the lawman…and reignites their love. But this time, the pair is in danger of being permanently parted—by a killer with revenge on his mind, and Lauren on the top of his list. As a new wave of terror sweeps through the streets and swamps of Baton Rouge, one man will pit his boundless passion against another’s relentless hate, for the life of the woman who obsesses them both.

Blog Tour‏: Late Night With Andres by Debra Anastasia

Posted on Friday, November 15, 2013 11:33 AM

by Debra Anastasia

Published: October 29, 2013, Omnific Publishing

100% of the proceeds generated from sales the novella Late Night with Andres will be donated by Debra Anastasia, Omnific Publishing, and all the staff members involved, to to assist in the battle against breast cancer—because cancer sucks.

Rising-star blogger Milla Kierce knows she's arrived when she sees the swag basket in her dressing room on the night of her late-night television debut. But before she can bite into the muffin that symbolizes her success, gunfire echoes through the TV studio. She's just hidden herself (mostly in plain sight) when the door flings open. Instead of a gunman, there stands one of the world's most popular rock stars, Gage Daxson, looking for his own way out of danger.

Thrown together, they'll battle a venomous man seeking revenge and his own sexual pleasure, but they may never leave the building again. Distracted by fear, fame, and infamy, can these two somehow find their way to each other?

Equal parts horrifying and hilarious, Debra Anastasia's Late Night With Andres offers more than a few twists and turns—and, of course, enough heat to keep things interesting.

My Review

"I’ve got a prosthetic baby toe. The bonus is I can take it off and put it on the table when I’m painting my nails. I’m a nineteen-digit wonder. "

Late Night With Andres by Debra Anastasia is a novella that will surely grip your attention! Although it's a novella, this book will leave you wanting more!!!

Milla Kierce is a blogger who's about to appear on a late night talk show called Late Night With Andres. She's so excited and can't wait for her "big night". While everything seems to be going according the plan, all of a sudden gunfire erupts in the studio. Milla is in her dressing room and she figures that she should stay there. Suddenly a man comes into the room to hide from the gunman. Mila is so terror stricken that it takes her some time to recognise who the man is. Milla is staring at superstar singer Gage Daxson. They are both afraid, not knowing what is going to happen. Just when they think that they are going to survive, the gunman bursts in...

Late Night With Andres is a comedic novella bound to make you laugh. There are moments that it gets serious but it's mostly comedic. The story is full of action, suspense, cops that cannot stop swearing, romace and of course comedy. It will keep you laughing till the end and totally satisfied by it!

“If you touch anything I normally put in a bathing suit, I’ll kill your nuts.”
“You’re charming.”

The characters are realistic but at the same time understand that what's happening to them is one in a million chance. I really loved Gage's POV because it let us "see" who he really was and understand the constant pressure he was under.

The story is fast paced and very entertaining.

“Milla bad ass Kierce? Will you go on a date with me?” .
“Gage drag queen Daxson, I would love to.”

I highly recommend this book. It's not only highly entertaining but proceeds from this book will go to the battle of breast cancer as well!!!

Debra Anastasia grew up in New York and got a bachelor's degree in political science at SUNY New Paltz. At the start of her marriage, she moved to southern Maryland with her husband. She still doesn't trust crabs and all their legs, though everyone else in her family thinks they're delicious. Her favorite hobbies include knitting, painting furniture and wall murals, and slapping clowns.

Her writing started a decent handful of years ago when along with the dogs, cat, kids, and husband, the voices of characters started whispering stories in Debra's ear. Insomnia was the gateway for the plots that wouldn't give up, wouldn't let go. In the shower, a twist would take hold and--dripping and frenzied--she'd find somewhere, anywhere to write it down. |

ARC Review: Tempting His Mate (Crescent Moon #3) by Savannah Stuart (aka Katie Reus)

Posted on 11:33 AM
Tempting His Mate (Crescent Moon #3)

by Savannah Stuart

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fav Quote:

"She’d never thought much about the male-female chase she’d heard her cousins and pridemates talk about before, but she understood it a little better now. Especially since she wanted to be caught by Asher."
Tempting His Mate is the third book in the Crescent Moon series.

Ella Hayes needs some time off her jaguar-shifter pride. So she decides to start anew by joining her cousin's pack, the Kincaid pack. On her way to her new pack she comes across to a very sexy wolf-shifter and for the first time in her life she decides to take a risk. She spends the night with him. Little does she know, though, that the stranger she slept with is about to become Kincaid pack's new member. Ella never liked complicated. But the moment she set her eyes on Asher she felt that he was different..

Asher might have left her to get away once but he's not making the same mistake again. He's playing for keeps! When Ella's life is threatened, Asher makes it clear that he will do anything to keep her safe.

The new addition to the Crescent Moon series will blow you away...

Ella is so independent and strong. The only thing she ever wanted was someone to return her love, to understand and complete her. Yet, after everything she's been through, she's hesitant to pursue something that might hurt her more. I really liked Asher. I don't know whether that was because of his horrific past or because of his natural charm, I just loved him. Asher has been a lone wolf for about 100 years and he knows that if he lets Ella go, he won' t have a future to look for.

"The thought of something happening to Ella made him go cold, the iciness cutting him bone deep."

Tempting His Mate is a fast paced book with two amazing characters. It's filled with betrayal, lust, mystery, suspense and a hero who will stop at nothing to protect what's his!

Totally recommended!

*ARC courtesy of the author in exchange for an honest review*

She ran from him once…

Wild one night stands are not Ella Hayes’s style, but with her confidence at rock bottom after a devastating betrayal and her painful departure from her jaguar pride, who could blame her for falling into bed with a sexy wolf? She never thought she’d see him again. And never in her craziest dreams did she expect to come face-to-face with him on her first day with the Kincaid wolf pack. Sleeping with Asher had been one of the most intense experiences of her life—but now she wonders if they could have more.

He’s not letting her go again…

Tired of life as a lone wolf, shifter Asher has joined his cousin’s pack. The last person he expected to see was the sexy woman who ran out on him in the middle of the most incredible night of his life. The Ella he meets now is nothing like the wild, sensual woman he let his guard down with, but he likes both sides of the complicated female. But now somebody—or something—sinister is targeting Ella, and Asher moves quickly to get her under his roof and under his protection. Keeping the sexy female safe and proving they belong together are two missions he doesn’t plan to fail. Because this time, he’s playing for keeps.

Review: The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay

Posted on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 11:58 PM
The Sea of Tranquility

By Katja Millay

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fav Quote:

“We’re like mysteries to one another. Maybe if I can solve him and he can solve me, we can explain each other. Maybe that’s what I need. Someone to explain me.”

There are times that you are given something, something that wraps you up, finds its way to your heart and then either breaks it or strengthens it. That's what The Sea of Tranquility is like. This book broke my heart...

Nastya is a 17-year-old girl former piano prodigy whose story will change the way you see life. Her story is not a typical one. It unrolls throughout the book. Although we get to see her through memories and some facts the author chooses to provide us with, we never truly see her for what she is beneath the mask until the end. But even though we don't know her story, we still bond with her and the other characters.

"At the age when most kids are trying to figure out who they are I was busying trying to figure out why I was. I didn’t belong in this world anymore. It’s not that I wanted to be dead, I just felt like I should be. Which is why it’s hard when everyone expects you to be grateful simply because you’re not.”

Nastya believes that her life might as well be over after being "alienated " from the world that helped her find out who she is, the world that showed her that she belongs. She can't dream of a future when she's captive of her past. Something in that past holds her back and kills her little by little everyday. She can't let people come close with her, not even those that love her the most. She's in a constant battle with herself, trying to bury a past that cannot and should not be buried. No one understands her beacause no one realy knows her. And how could they???

“So I wrote. I spit every detail out of my head and onto paper so that the memory wouldn’t have any hold over me. I felt like a criminal. Like I was perpetrating some crime by not telling, and every night I was waiting for the nightmares to call me on it, to turn me in. So I took away their leverage. I confessed myself. Every night into the notebooks. The words were the sacrifice I offered up daily in exchange for dreamless sleep. They have never failed me.”

She may hate surprises but that is UNTIL HIM.

Josh is just like Nastya. He's a boy who should have not had the life he leads but cannot do otherwise. Life is unfair and he knows it. Josh has so many scars, not on the outside but in the inside, but he hides them well. They are drawn to each other. They are friends but they both know that that's just a pretense, they both feel something deeper. They are two young people that carry too much, never being able to be themselves and to trust. But what they thought was impossible it's slowly become real. They trust each other, they create a world that no one but them make the rules. That no one can enter, no one that can get past them and steal what's left of them!

This is a test that they are both ready to pass. Or so they think...

“I just wanted one person who would look at me and not want to see someone else.”

Trust is hard to gain but easy to lose. The Sea of Tranquility is such a moving book. It's very emotional and touching. There is a nice flow, things occure when it's time to happen, no sooner and no later. People make mistakes and Nastya and Josh do too! They think they move forward but they move back, they think they finally get it but they are wrong. I'll have to admit that in the beginning I was a little confused but the more I read the more obsessed I became. It's hard not to be drawn to this story.

Nastya is such a tragic character. Everything she does, happen because of a reason. A reason she does not know anymore because of her past. She copes by running until she can't breathe anymore, until her mind numbs and the memories vanish.

This book is not a love story althought it has one. You never truly comprehend what love is but when you see the love between Josh and Nastya, you realize that no matter what happens there's someone out there that will always get you. That he will know what your silence means even when the people closest to you don't. Their love is not a typical teenage-love, everything is hard. They is not a HEA but there's an end. An end that might leave you wanting for more but that will leave you peaceful and satisfied.

No words will descibe the splendor of this book.

Highly recommended!!!

PS: Book-hangover guaranteed!

Former piano prodigy Nastya Kashnikov wants two things: to get through high school without anyone learning about her past and to make the boy who took everything from her—her identity, her spirit, her will to live—pay.

Josh Bennett’s story is no secret: every person he loves has been taken from his life until, at seventeen years old, there is no one left. Now all he wants is be left alone and people allow it because when your name is synonymous with death, everyone tends to give you your space.

Everyone except Nastya, the mysterious new girl at school who starts showing up and won’t go away until she’s insinuated herself into every aspect of his life. But the more he gets to know her, the more of an enigma she becomes. As their relationship intensifies and the unanswered questions begin to pile up, he starts to wonder if he will ever learn the secrets she’s been hiding—or if he even wants to.

Favourite Quote:

"Avery was such a mystery to me; a paradox of innocence and allure—a mystery I was determined to solve."
I loved this book from the first page till the last. So many emotions, so passionate, so perfect!

I'm sure that if you want to read this book, you've probably read Wait for You cause if you don't please look the other way!!!

Trust in Me basically tells the same story but this book is from Cam's POV only. In Wait for You we read Avery's side of the story and it's finally time to read Cam's...

Although we already know why Avery has a difficulty trusting people and letting them into her life, in this book we get to see firsthand how much effort Cam made to gain her trust.

Whatever I say will not do justice to this STUPENDOUS read! I devoured this book. I stayed up all night reading it and it was worth it. Many will say that it's just the same book with the previous in the series but they are soooooo wrong. I'll admit that there were times that many scenes were repeated but it was so thrilling reading an entire book by two extremely different perspectives, such different characters. There were moments that Avery annoyed me a little bit, but having already "heard" her thoughts, it totally understandable and besides that she made it up in the end.

Cam, dear Cam! There are no words to describe how perfect this man was. He's so patient, so charming, adorable, lovable and kissable. He loved Avery with such force and I loved the fact that despite everything, he waited for her (and I was so so sorry for him...) but thank got we have a HEA. I loved Cam in Wait for You but reading his POV ruined me for any other book-boyfriend.

"Avery . . . hell, she completely undid me."

As far as the secondary characters are concerned, I'll have to say that in Trust in Me we get to see some new scenes featuring Cam's friends and family. Yep, you guessed right!!! More Jase and Ollie (I don't know if they are right for our health though). I really can’t wait to read Jase and Teresa’s story and maybe (maybe) a story for Ollie as well.

Trust in Me is a book that leaves you wanting more. You won't be disappointed (provided that you've read the previous book of course). It was so amazing being in Cam´s head. He was so open to everything, very kind, caring, warm-hearted, gentle, compassionate, sympathetic, understanding, he baked and cooked and above everything else.... he had a turtoise as a pet (I don't think we can ask for more).

"Holy shit, Strawberry Shortcake just ran me over. "
So yeah, definitely on my top-ten book-boyfriends!

Highly recommended!!!

PS: Do you think it's too much if I ask for another novella??? (I don't think it is!)

It’s Wait for You as you’ve never seen it. Trust in Me lets you in on Cam’s side of the #1 New York Times Bestselling story.

Cameron Hamilton is used to getting what he wants, especially when it comes to women. But when Avery Morgansten comes crashing into his life – literally – he finally meets the one person who can resist his soulful baby blues. But Cam’s not ready to give up. He can’t get the feisty and intriguing girl out of his head.

Avery has secrets, secrets that keep her from admitting the feelings Cam knows she has for him. Will persistence (and some delicious homemade cookies) help him break down her barriers and gain her trust? Or will he be shut out of Avery's life, losing his first real shot at the kind of love that lasts forever?

“Okay, I’m done. Now hurry!” the makeup artist cried out. “You’re up in two minutes.
Don’t you dare mess up your makeup again!”
Maude ran out, keeping her hands away from her recently rouged cheeks, and Matt
hurried behind her.
She stood right behind the curtain and listened to the host’s cheerful voice, announcing
“Now ladies and gentlemen, we have a new artist with us tonight. She’s spent her last
six months in New York working on her first album. Her first single has been released and is
a huge hit . . .”
“Maude,” Matt whispered, tugging her sleeve.
“Yes?” She looked back at him, smiling.
“I just wanted to tell you . . . to let you know that you can always count on me.”
“I know, Matt,” Maude smiled gratefully.
“Her voice will take your breath away, her music is amazing . . . ”
“No, I’m serious. Our friendship has had its ups and downs, but I don’t want it to be that
way anymore.”
Maude nodded.
“I don’t care if you’re with Thomas Bradfield. As long as you’re happy, I’m happy.”
Maude paused, puzzled. “What? Thomas Bradfield—”
“Give a round of applause for Maude Laurent!” the host cried.
“That’s your cue! Go!” Matt urged.
Maude reluctantly turned away from Matt and hurried on stage.
The blaring lights blinded her as she entered the stage and faced the cheering crowd.
She had to restrain her impulse to shield her eyes and continued steadily towards the dark
She had played on it earlier but then, she hadn’t felt nervous. Her hands hadn’t been
trembling, and her voice hadn’t been shaky.
Maude sat on the piano stool and looked towards the crowd.

Book #2

A French Star in New York (The French Girl series #2)

But when scandal strikes Maude must part ways with Matt, and watch Soulville Records fall into the hands of an ambitious Alan Lewis, who will stop at nothing to turn Maude into an unparalleled star.
Between glamorous parties, an unauthorized tell-all book, a web of lies, new revelations about her French past and her rivalry with Lindsey Linton attaining a whole new level, Maude must fight for her voice to be heard and decide if being a star is more important than her love for music.
