Once Upon a Tag

By Anna Adams

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

"One a.m. Twenty minutes, forty-six seconds, in the Parisian subway.
That’s when David Leblanc saw her for the first time."

David Leblanc lives for art.

He's on his way to his friend's home when he sees her. Meet Rita. She's the infamous "Masked Menace", a street artist, a vandal according to some. Her latest "hit" has shocked Paris.Rita acts on her emotions while David is the sensible one.Two entirely different people colide together. They go on an adventure bound to bring them closer.

I'll start by saying that the book was very short. That was disappointing. It was such an ambitious book...

The author's vocabulary was very abundant. The book had a nice flow, it was fast paced and very discriptive.
Moreover, I enjoyed the book. However, the book was a cliffhanger and I can't but hope that a sequel is in order.

Definitely recommend it!

I was provided with a copy by the author.

Synopsis:

When David, a young French painter, unexpectedly meets Rita, an infamous Parisian street artist, his convictions are shaken to the core during a night he is unlikely to ever forget.

So, I just visited Jennifer L. Armentrout's blog and look what I came across:

Synopsis:

He’s arrogant, domineering, and—To. Die. For…

Hunter is a ruthless killer. The Department of Defense has him firmly in their grasp, which usually doesn’t chafe him too badly because he gets to kill bad guys. Most of the time he enjoys his job, that is, until he’s saddled with something he’s never had to do before: Protect a human from his mortal enemy.

Serena Cross didn’t believe her best friend when she claimed to have seen the son of a powerful senator turn into a walking glow stick. Who would? But then she witnesses her friend’s murder at the hands of what can only be an alien, thrusting her into a world that will kill to protect their secret.

Wow wow wow!!!I  can't wait to see the cover...

Love Irresistibly (FBI / US Attorney #4)

By Julie James

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“It’s because your subconscious finds my subconscious irresistible,” -Cade

The fourth book in the FBI/US Attorney series is totally different from the other books in the series a) because the heroine isn't being chased by a criminal and b)the hero needs the heroine's help.

Brooke is a successful woman with brilliant career. She is ambitious, funny, well hilarious is more like it. But as the rest of us, she struggles to keep up with her life. Brook thought that her job was everything to her until she met Cade.

Cade is a sexy, successful (Assistant US Attorney) and "emotionally unavailable" .That is until he sets his eyes on the GC of Sterling Restaurants.

I really liked the chemistry between them. Their relationship was so intense. And let me tell you this, they were just perfect.

In Love Irresistibly we encounter characters from previous books of the series such as Cameron (who's pregnant) and Jack, Agent McCall (aka Nick), and there's also a scene between Rylann and Kyle (which are still pretty awesome).

Love Irresistibly is a fast-paced book with strong, funny characters. Hence, it's a worth reading book and I absolutely recommend it. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I hope so do you.

Blurb:

HE’S USED TO GETTING WHAT HE WANTS…
A former football star and one of Chicago’s top prosecutors, Assistant U.S. Attorney Cade Morgan will do anything to nail a corrupt state senator, which means he needs Brooke Parker’s help. As general counsel for a restaurant company, she can get a bug to the senator’s table at one of her five-star restaurants so the FBI can eavesdrop on him. All Cade has to do is convince Brooke to cooperate—and he’s not afraid to use a little charm, or the power of his office, to do just that.

AND WHAT HE WANTS IS HER.
A savvy businesswoman, Brooke knows she needs to play ball with the U.S. Attorney’s office—even if it means working with Cade. No doubt there’s a sizzling attraction beneath all their sarcastic quips, but Brooke is determined to keep things casual. Cade agrees—until a surprising turn of events throws his life into turmoil, and he realizes that he wants more than just a good time from the one woman with whom he could fall terrifyingly, irresistibly in love . .

Origin's Blurb Is Out

I'm so excited!!!Although the book is going to be released at August 27th the blurb is already out.....
So, that leaves me wondering when will the cover be released????

Here's the blurb:

Origin (Lux #4)

By Jennifer L. Armentrout

Blurb:

Daemon will do anything to get Katy back.

After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.

All Katy can do is survive.

Surrounded by enemies, the only way she can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don’t seem entirely crazy, but the group’s goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?

Together, they can face anything.

But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on? And will they even be together?

Also here are some teasers:

Teaser #1

All the pent up, helpless rage formed a wrecking ball inside of me. Maintaining human form was near impossible. I wanted to hit something—destroy something. I needed to.
“Daemon, no one—”
“Shut up,” I said, turning to where Matthew sat in the corner of the room. Right this moment I wanted to destroy him. “Just shut the hell up.”

Teaser #2

“As close as you’re riding me, man, I feel like I need to take you out to dinner or something. At least, I should get your name.” He punched in a floor number, smirking. “People call me Archer.”

Teaser #3

A certain bone-deep understanding occurred and my hand tightened around the smaller one I held. It weren't stars we were staring at. The sky was falling.

Teaser #4

“We can’t lose you,” she said after a few moments of awkward as hell silence. “You have to understand that we aren’t doing this because we don’t care about Kat. We’re doing this because we love you.”
“But I love her,” I said without hesitation.
Dee’s eyes widened, probably since it was the first time she’d heard me say it out loud, well, about anyone other than my family. I wished I had said it more often, especially to Kat. Funny how that kind of shit always turns out in the end. While you’re deep in something, you never say or do what you need to. It’s always after the fact, when it’s too late that you realize what you’ve should’ve said or done.
It couldn’t be too late. I knew that. The fact that I was still alive was testament to that. Like Dee said, though, there were worse things than death.

Teaser #5

"I love you" I said, our lips brushing.
"I love you so very much"

Teaser #6

The shadow pulled away, moving forward quickly. My first instinct screamed Arum and to push away from it. I reached blindly for the obsidian necklace, realizing too late I didn’t have it anymore.
“You’re still having nightmares,” the shadow said.
At the sound of the familiar voice, fear gave way to rage so potent that it tasted like a battery acid. I was on my feet before I knew it.
“Blake,” I spat.

Teaser #7

"There's ONLY one thing I want."
"And that is?"
"I want to see Kat"
Nancy's smile didn't fade."And what are you willing to do to accomplish that?"
"Antything" I said without hesitation, and I meant it. "I will do anything, but I want to see Kat first and I want to see her now."

Teaser #8

"I want a years -worth of seconds and minutes with you.I want a decade's worth of hours, so many that I can't add them up."

So, that's all. Can't wait for the book to come out!!!!

The Host:Book vs Movie

               VS

So,I just watched the movie and I was very impressed by it.Well, it may not be exactly as I imagined the characters or the scenery to be when I was reading the book but nonetheless it came extremely close to it.
Well, the cast......Oh the cast!I really liked Saoirse Ronan (Melanie) though to tell the truth I didn't imagine her to be like this but she played her role very well.I also liked Max Irons (Jared), Jake Abel (Ian) I don't know why but I had this image of him in head I think he was an excellent choice although I expected Ian to be more emotional. But even as he was, he was perfect.Diane Kruger (the seeker) was amazing as well.

What I din't like was the fact that some of the characters from the book were missing and I think that I would have enjoyed the movie much more if they had been here.Furthermore, in the movie they have changed some things from the book.Like I don't remember Aaron and brandon dying....But who knows???Maybe i should re-read the book (which I fully intent doing).

Nevertheless, I completely enjoyed the movie. So,if you haven't seen it I totally recommend it as I recommend reading the book and

Bound In Death (Bound #5)

By Cynthia Eden

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“Looks like two hundred years didn’t change the way that she felt about you, memory or no memory.”-Ryan

Bound In Death is the fifth book in the Bound series. This book tells the story of Alerac and Keira (aka Jane).

Keira is a vampire-to-be princess locked away in a castle waiting to turn. After the brutal murder of some werewolves, Alerac promises to avenge them and they only way to take out his target is through Keira. But neither of them expected what could happen.

Two hundred years later Alerac still remembers everything while Jane remembers nothing. How that's possible???Duh...Witches!!!Alerac will do anything to protect his mate while Jane will do anything to find out the truth!

But the past won't let them be.Old and new enemies surface determined to tear them apart.

A worth reading book with strong characters, both main and secondary ones.I especially liked Ryan, Jane's brother and Zoe, a werewolf from Alerac's pack who cannot shift.I would love to read more of them.Perhaps a novela?Yeah...

The book had a nice flow and there wasn't a moment that I got lost.Bound In Death can be read as a stand alone book as well.

Absolutely recommended to all vampire-werewolf lovers!!!

Blurb:

She can’t remember him…
He can never forget her.

For over two hundred years, alpha werewolf Alerac O’Neill has been searching for his mate, Keira McDonough, a woman who was taken from him and imprisoned by a dark vampire master. He’s hunted for her, endlessly, using vampire blood to extend his life. He has become a vicious predator, feared by all the supernaturals. His hold on reality seems to slip more each day because he is consumed by her.

Only…the woman he discovers in a small Miami bar isn’t the Keira that he remembers. In fact, this woman doesn’t remember anything. She calls herself Jane Smith, and she has no memory at all of Alerac—or of her own past.

Now that she’s been found, Alerac knows that his enemies are going to start closing in on her. Jane may try to act human, but she’s not. She’s a pureblood vampire princess, incredibly powerful and incredibly valuable. His enemies want to use her, her enemies want to destroy her, and Alerac—he just wants her.

If he can’t make her remember him, then Alerac has to seduce Jane into loving him once again. Because now that he’s found her, he’ll fight hell—and every sadistic vampire that stalks the night—in order to keep her safe at his side.

Some bonds go deeper than the flesh. Some go beyond life. Beyond death.

Jane will soon learn that a werewolf’s claiming…is forever.

Lover At Last  (Black Dagger Brotherhood #11)

By J.R. Ward

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

"You've always had me....and my heart. My soul.Everything.I wish it hadn't taken this long for me to man up."

I was very disappointed!

When I found out that there was going to be a book about Qhuinn and Blay, I was over the moon. But then Layla ruined it all.Ok it wasn't only her "fault" but let's face it if it wasn't for her, the book would have been a lot shorter...

I'm going to start with what I didn't like (because there weren't much that I actualy did like).First and foremost, the baby plot.I just hated it.I really tried to like Layla (I did) but I just couldn't.It occured to me that almost the whole book (not the whole but the 79% of it) had to do with her.She even had her own POV.Really???Oh,yeah! As if that weren't enough, Qhuinn was constantly worried over her welfare and so was Blay as well. And let's not talk about Xcor. Poor poor Xcor.He had so much potential....(ts ts ts).Almost all Xcor POVs had to do with her.As it seems Layla will probably play an integral role for the books to come....Poor us!

Mooving on!The side stories of this book just seemed really unnecessary. What I'm trying to say is that, while on previous books the side stories were somehow relevant and connected to the main story in this book I felt that they could be ommited.Every time I would move to the next chapter and saw Layla or Xcor or Assail or Sola or Tres I was beyond frustrated.I just don't care!!!

Another thing that I din't like was the lack of a bond between the two main characters. There wasn't even a single scene that I felt them connect (well, except the epilogue).Oh,and the lack of emotions.Hated this.

What I liked:Not many things. However, there were some scenes (very few) that the two main characters felt so real.Like trully themselves,as we have seen them in the previous books. That's the only thing that I liked.

All in all, I was very disappointed!I just believe that the author could have "invested" so much more to this book. But this is my opinion. So, if you have read the previous books,do give this book a try!!!!

Blurb:

Qhuinn, son of no one, is used to being on his own. Disavowed from his bloodline, shunned by the aristocracy, he has finally found an identity as one of the most brutal fighters in the war against the Lessening Society. But his life is not complete. Even as the prospect of having a family of his own seems to be within reach, he is empty on the inside, his heart given to another....

Blay, after years of unrequited love, has moved on from his feelings for Qhuinn. And it’s about time: The male has found his perfect match in a Chosen female, and they are going to have a young—just as Qhuinn has always wanted for himself. It’s hard to see the new couple together, but building your life around a pipe dream is just a heartbreak waiting to happen. As he’s learned firsthand.

Fate seems to have taken these vampire soldiers in different directions... but as the battle over the race’s throne intensifies, and new players on the scene in Caldwell create mortal danger for the Brotherhood, Qhuinn finally learns the true definition of courage, and two hearts who are meant to be together... finally become one.

Also, later today I'll post a review of Breaking Her Rules (Red Stone Security, #6) by Katie Reus .

Night Demon By Lisa Kessler

Night Demon  (Night Series #2)

By Lisa Kessler

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Night Demon is the first book I read by Lisa Kessler.

This is the second book in the Night series telling Lukas's story, a Night Walker made by accident by Calisto Terana in Night Walker.Lukas is appalled over his behavior when he was newly made and has been looking for information in order to end his existence.Being an archaeologist allows him to acquire as much information as possible about the origins of the Night Walkers.

Gretchen Finch's job is to assist Lucas.Gretchen is fascinated by his ferocity to find answers and despite all her efforts has come to care for him.

When something unleashes the Night Demon, Lucas decides to send Gretchen back to the US in order to keep her safe but Gretchen is determined to find out the meaning of their findings. Now it's just a matter of time to discover secrets that have been locked away since time began or the whole world could be destroyed.

Night Demon is story that has to do with the Mayan civilization.Lukas and Gretchen were both strong characters and I really enjoyed how the author created this unique bond between them and the intensicy of their relationship.Another thing that I liked was that they both took the time to consider the pros and cons of a relationship with each other.

This book can be read as a stand alone since the author gives the readers enough backstory to understand the world and the characters that were introduced in the previous books.I totally recommend this book to those of you who enjoy paranormal romance!

*I received this book from Entangled Publishing in exchange of my honest opinion.

Blurb:

Deep within the Yucatan jungle a demon has awakened...

Gretchen Finch's job would be much easier if she weren't alone in the jungle with a brilliant recluse whose every glance sets her on fire. But the more she focuses on her work, the closer she gets to unlocking the mysteries of a terrible creature - the Night Demon - that threatens the world as she knows it. Though her scientific mind tells her it's impossible, she's beginning to believe the ancient Mayan tales as the sinister jungle comes alive around her.

Lukas Smith has spent hundreds of years searching for answers to his immortal Night Walker nature. As a series of ancient glyphs become clear, he's about to find out more than he'd ever hoped, but the more he learns, the more his fate intertwines with the Night Demon, and the harder it becomes to hide his immortal secret from the beautiful, intelligent Gretchen.

Together, they must find a way to stop the inexplicable violence and mass destruction surging across the earth before the Night Demon destroys more than just mankind.

Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire

Walking Disaster (Beautiful #2)

By Jamie McGuire

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“One of these days you’re going to fall in love, son. Don’t settle for just anyone. Choose the girl that doesn’t come easy; the one you have to fight for, and then never stop fighting. Never.”

Definitely a must read!I was waiting for this book so impatiently and I can't believe that I just read it.I really really loved this book.It was so incredible reading Travi's POV but simultaneously knowing Abby's.

So,before reading this book make sure you have read Beautiful Disaster, the first book, which is written from  Abby's POV.Reading Abby's POV first,is a requirement.

To begin with,I finally understand why Travis acted out the way he did in Beautiful Disaster. When I read the book from Abby's POV, I couldn't decide whether I loved or hated him neither could I understand why Travis over reacted in some occasions. But having read the book from his POV I definitely get it.However that doesn't mean that I approve some of his actions. For one,I know that everyone has flaws but getting drunk when you don't want to deal with your problems annoys me so much.Another thing that occured to me whille reading this book, was Abby's conduct. She was so frustrating. She went from hot to cold in a matter of a second.Such an indecisive girl(ts ts ts). I can completly understand Travis for being confused....

Oh...Did I mention that there are extra scenes?Oh yeah!I for once really enjoyed them.Especially the epilogue.I actually loved the epilogue since we didn't get one inBeautiful Disaster. However the book is somewhat fast paced and some scenes from the first book are repeated(rewritten from Travis's POV),not that I mind and nor will you,I think.

In my opinion,if you have read Beautiful Disaster,Abby's POV, you should absolutely read Walking Disaster,Travis's POV, as well.If you haven't read either I recommend that you do.There are both worth reading books.

Blurb:

Finally, the highly anticipated follow-up to the New York Times bestseller Beautiful Disaster. Can you love someone too much?
Travis Maddox learned two things from his mother before she died: Love hard. Fight harder.

In Walking Disaster, the life of Travis is full of fast women, underground gambling, and violence. But just when he thinks he is invincible, Abby Abernathy brings him to his knees.

Every story has two sides. In Beautiful Disaster, Abby had her say. Now it’s time to see the story through Travis’s eyes.
